Baguettes for the ceiling gluing. How to glue a ceiling molding with your own hands

When finishing the ceiling comes to an end and the moment comes, few people think about the fact that this seemingly simple part of the work has its own rules and requirements. If you start gluing in a clumsy way, cutting on the spot, without additional markings, you can completely ruin the entire appearance of the room. The purpose of baguettes is completely different; they should improve the interior, making it even more original and unique. By following the rules, you will not spoil anything, but on the contrary, you will improve it, and the work process itself will be much easier. How to glue baguettes to the ceiling and when to do it - you should find out in advance and get to work fully armed.

Gluing ceiling moldings is the finishing touch to finishing the ceiling.

When to glue skirting boards

If you are lucky and have perfectly smooth walls, then you can glue the baseboards after gluing the wallpaper with a special glue.

But since smooth walls are practically nonsense and are very rare, then in order to visually hide all irregularities and prevent the appearance of gaps, it is worth attaching decorative trim before wallpapering, but after completing the work.

Also, have everything ready necessary tools, which may be needed to properly glue the fillets.

Preparation

The surface where you will glue the baguettes must be very thoroughly cleaned of dust.

Then it is well primed, this is done not only for the purpose of leveling, but also for better contact of the baguette with the surface. Using a level, check the evenness; a convenient level length for such work is at least 1.5 meters.

Marking

If the corners in the room are ideal, i.e. equal to 90 degrees, then markings for baguettes do not need to be done.

Marking can be omitted if the corners in the room where you are renovating are 90 degrees. Otherwise, marking is necessary; it will give accuracy and make your work easier.

The baguette is applied to the corner and lines are drawn with a pencil, above and below. Then marks are made on the baguette itself. At uneven corners It’s worth measuring each corner separately, this is necessary, because otherwise you can ruin the baguette and have to cut it.

According to the marks, cut off unnecessary parts of the plinth and, checking, fold them in sections; inaccuracies are corrected using sandpaper or a stationery knife.

Carrying out decorative finishing

You need to glue the baguettes to the ceiling starting from the corners. This is especially important when the room is quite large. In a small room you will need to make marks not only from the corners, but also from the opposite side. Prepare a soap solution and a cloth and have them at hand. Glue is applied along the edges of the fillet; of course, it is more convenient to do this with a gun, but you can do this without difficulty with an ordinary brush. Apply enough glue so that after pressing firmly, excess sticks out at the edges.

  1. The plinth is accurately applied to the intended line and pressed tightly along its entire length. Excess glue is carefully distributed along the edges, and the remains are removed with a cloth and soapy water. The joints of the baguettes are also coated with glue.
  2. Try to work carefully, without spreading the glue all over the baseboard. and making sure that the joints are even, proceed to further work. Take the baguette and place it in the remaining gap between the corners.
  3. Mark the desired length of the baguette with a pencil, carefully cut it and glue it in the same way, not forgetting to coat the joints. Carefully fill the seams and sand with fine-grained sandpaper. To make it easier for you to subsequently care for your baguettes and extend their service life, you should paint them in several layers. It is the baguettes that collect the most dust; without painting they will quickly lose their appearance.

Suspended ceiling

Stretch ceilings are also decorated using fillets. Don't be afraid to damage the surface; if you do everything correctly, then your suspended ceiling will not be harmed.

Marking is done only on baguettes; again, you should start working from the corners. Preserving the surface of the ceiling, a paper strip is inserted between it and the baguette, which can be glued together from old newspapers. Newspapers are removed after gluing, puttying and painting are completed.

Thanks to decorating with skirting boards, your stretch ceiling will become even more original and perfect.

Until relatively recently, the joints formed between the wall and the ceiling surface were covered with panels or this part was covered with a thin strip of embossed paper. Today, preference is given to ceiling moldings and baseboards, which hide existing distortions and gaps much better. As a result, the room acquires a unique appearance. Using the element, you can quite easily hide existing flaws that were not removed during repair work. As practice shows, gluing baguettes to the ceiling is not difficult if you follow the recommendations of specialists and carry out all the work in stages.

How to glue baguettes to the ceiling and wallpaper

As practice shows, there are several ways to install a baguette on the ceiling surface:

  • directly to the wallpaper;
  • even before work begins on finishing premises.

The advantage of the first option is the fact that it is not necessary to adjust the length of the wallpaper to the line of the ceiling molding. With the help of such a decorative element, it is possible to visually hide all existing errors on the upper edge of the wallpaper.

In order to carry out installation work correctly, it is recommended to carry out everything step by step, adhering to the following algorithm:

  1. Using a miter box, hacksaw or any other device, it is necessary to cut the edges of the baguette at the required angle.
  2. It is necessary to apply an adhesive composition to those surfaces to which the decorative element will subsequently adhere. thin layer.

  3. After the layer of glue has been applied, you need to attach the product to the wall, lightly press it down and hold it in this position for several minutes. As practice shows, the manufacturer often gives recommendations for carrying out installation work using specific adhesives.

  4. If there is excess glue, it should be removed using a rag or spatula. The joints of the baguette will need to be sealed with white sealant in the future.

After the baguette is glued, you can begin to apply the finishing coloring composition.

How to glue baguettes to the ceiling

Before you begin installation work, it is recommended to first think about how to glue the baguette to the ceiling surface. IN in this case excellent option is the choice of ready-made adhesive compositions. If you take into account the recommendations of experts, then there are several adhesive compositions, each of which is time-tested:

  • polymeric;
  • acrylic;
  • silicone based glue.

Comment! When choosing a polymer option, it is worth considering that the level of stickiness is quite weak. To glue a baguette made of foam plastic to the ceiling surface, you will need long time keeping it in one position, which is very difficult, especially when the product reaches a length of 2 m.

Using acrylic and silicone glue, you can quickly install a ceiling molding. On sale you can find tubes that are designed for a pistol. It is easy to apply the composition, and thanks to the presence of a dispensing spout, you can control the glue consumption.

The most budget option is a finishing putty or glue intended for drywall. Distinctive feature This composition has an affordable price and a quick hardening and setting process. Literally a couple of hours after the baguette has been glued, you can begin painting work.

Attention! The disadvantage of putty is the difficulty of applying a thin layer of the composition to the baguette using a spatula.

Preparatory work

As a rule, they begin gluing ceiling moldings after the walls have already been leveled, wallpaper has been hung, or the surface has been painted. If the walls are uneven, they must first be leveled using putty or plaster for this purpose. Particular care is taken in leveling the surface if you plan to install moldings made of plaster and wood. It is enough to press polystyrene foam products and they will hide the existing irregularities.

It is also recommended to prepare the ceiling surface in advance, namely the part to which the decorative element will be glued. If the surface is leveled and painted, additional work no need to carry out. If necessary, the ceiling where the baguette will rest can be additionally coated with a layer of primer.

If you plan to mount the decorative element not end-to-end to the ceiling, but will provide a small margin for installation LED strip, then for convenience it is recommended to mark the bottom sizing line. To do this, small nails are nailed around the perimeter of the entire room at a distance of 3 cm from the ceiling, after which the thread is pulled. Subsequently, this line is oriented.

How to cut baguettes for the ceiling correctly

Enough complex process is the cut of the baguette. As a rule, the main problem is not that it is necessary to cut the material under at an even angle at 90 or 45 degrees, for these purposes you can use a miter box, but the fact is that often the corners in the room are crooked and do not amount to 90 degrees. That is why, after all the work has been carried out, the cracks have to be sealed with putty.

If necessary, you can use special decorative inserts which are used to decorate residential premises. In specialized stores it is possible to find decorative inserts for external and internal corners. Before installing such inserts, it is recommended to first trim the edges at an angle of 90 degrees.

Many craftsmen use a miter box when performing work. Before decorating the corners of the room, you need to attach the baguette to the surface of the ceiling and visually determine the cut line. The fillet is placed in a miter box so that the edge of the ceiling is at the bottom. The products are held by hand and at the same time the excess part is cut off. To design the right internal corner the cut is made from left to right; for the left, the procedure is carried out in reverse.

Advice! If a gap has been formed, it must be eliminated using putty.

How to glue foam ceiling moldings

As practice shows, you can glue ceiling moldings yourself without resorting to outside help. In this case, the main thing is to ensure that all elements are installed evenly and are firmly fixed.

The work process is as follows:

The final result depends on the correctness of the work performed.

Attention! Products made from foam plastic can be painted if necessary, and they bend well.

How to glue polyurethane baguettes to the ceiling

As a rule, it is recommended to start gluing the polyurethane baguette from the corner of the room, which is located next to the entrance. It is necessary to prepare wet wipes in advance, with which you can remove excess adhesive. Glue is applied to the edges and joints of the product. After the glue is applied, the baguette is applied to the surface and pressed tightly. The pressing time can be seen in the instructions supplied with the glue. If there is excess, remove the glue with napkins.

After that decorative elements They begin to install around the entire perimeter of the room. It is necessary to measure the length of each step and trim off the excess. The corners must coincide and they should be pressed as tightly as possible. To ensure that there are no marks or dents left on the material, it is pressed with the entire palm.

How to stick a wooden molding on the ceiling

  1. The first thing you need to do is check the walls for unevenness - there shouldn’t be any.
  2. If necessary, markings are made on the surface of the wall or ceiling.
  3. After this, they proceed to preparing the first baguette - the corner must be cut.
  4. If the baguette is narrow and light in weight, then it can be fastened with liquid nails.
  5. If the material is heavy, you will have to use self-tapping screws. You can first place the wood product on glue, and then securely fasten it with self-tapping screws.
  6. When the perimeter of the room is completely processed, they proceed to eliminating existing gaps using putty.
  7. At the end, all joints are coated with paint and varnish.

Often, decorative wooden elements are attached to special wooden corners.

How to properly glue gypsum moldings to the ceiling

Before installing gypsum products, measure the room and cut baguettes to the required length. It is important to ensure that the corners are cut straight.

After everything is prepared, it is necessary to apply a thick layer of finishing putty to one of the sides of the material, which will be adjacent to the wall. After this, the gypsum product is tightly applied to the surface of the wall and ceiling. If there is excess putty, remove it with a spatula.

Conclusion

Gluing baguettes to the ceiling is not as difficult as it might initially seem. All work can be done independently if you adhere to the recommendations and strictly follow a certain algorithm.

The idea of a good repair is rapidly changing with the advent of new design ideas and techniques. Previously, the pinnacle of craftsmanship was considered to be evenly pasted wallpaper with a correctly selected edging in the form of a multi-colored paper strip, and sometimes even an ordinary tape. Today high quality finish walls and ceilings is impossible without the use of baguettes. Agree, correctly combining two planes into a single ensemble is a guarantee of comfort and beauty in the room. In this article we will look at how to properly glue baguettes to the ceiling so that the renovation looks complete.

Baguettes in the interior emphasize the sophistication of the room design.

Using baguettes in the interior

The material has several significant advantages:

  • allows you to hide visible defects in walls and ceilings - unevenness, roughness, differences;
  • decorates the junction of the wall and ceiling;
  • easy to install, does not require special skills;
  • light and flexible material;
  • rich design choice;
  • allows you to significantly save money due to its affordable price.

Before choosing a ceiling molding, you should know that it can be made from various materials, be different in texture, width, be smooth and patterned. Not only the price depends on this, but also its purpose, features of use for different interiors.

Baguette, also known as molding, ceiling plinth or frieze, can be made of foam, polyurethane, plastic, wood or plaster. The first two types of baguettes are most often used; plastic ones, for example, are used only for suspended ceilings, and wooden ones - in conjunction with the same ceiling.

Wooden baguettes fit perfectly in an interior that already has wood.

Surface and tool preparation

In order for the ceiling plinth to stick well and hold securely, you need to properly prepare the surface and prepare the glue. Professional builders believe that there are two ways to glue baguettes. The most common and proven method is when they first glue ceiling skirting boards, all gaps and differences are eliminated, and then wallpaper is glued. Some home renovation masters glue baguettes on top of the wallpaper, although this method is more complicated, because it will be difficult and inconvenient to treat gaps and unevenness with putty.

In order for the baguettes to stick well, you need to treat the surface. First you need to remove roughness and unevenness using sandpaper, then be sure to clean the ceiling and walls from construction dust, and then treat them with a special primer.

The success of gluing baguettes depends on their availability and quality. Professionals advise having the following tools with you:

  • spatula
  • sharp knife with replaceable blades
  • miter box
  • paint brush
  • pencil
  • roller

You will also need a foam sponge, an adhesive mixture, and finishing putty. Armed with everything you need, you can safely begin gluing baguettes to the ceiling.

Step by step instructions

Correct marking and cutting of baguettes

Before gluing baguettes to the ceiling, you need to calculate required quantity strips so as not to have to look for what’s missing or throw away what’s unused. The calculation is simple: calculate the perimeter of the room (help here school curriculum for 2nd grade). We divide the resulting number by 2, since this is the standard length of ceiling moldings. For defects and trimming corners we throw 2-3 strips. It should be remembered that in visible places it is advisable to use solid strips of baguettes so as not to spoil general view in small pieces.

Now you know how to properly glue baguettes to the ceiling. But remember that the material must be cut correctly. To prevent the pancake from becoming lumpy and a good half of the materials ending up in the trash, it is better to use a special device for cutting baguettes - a miter box. With its help, you can make a corner joint almost perfect, because in ordinary apartments Perfectly smooth walls and ceilings are rare.

You can cut baguettes evenly and accurately using a special device - a miter box.

No miter box - no problem. We offer step by step instructions for cutting baguettes without using a miter box:

How to glue baguette to the ceiling

You can glue the ceiling plinth using finishing putty or special glue.

  • Finishing putty

If you chose the first option, then the mixture must first be prepared. The procedure is simple: pour putty into a container with water and mix with a mixer. Some people add a little PVA glue to increase strength.

Then the mixture is applied to the edges of the baguette in an even layer using a spatula. The plinth is placed between the ceiling and the wall and pressed. Using a spatula and sponge, remove excess putty, cover cracks, irregularities, and joints.

  • Adhesive compositions

Most often, polymer adhesives such as “Titan”, “Moment”, or so-called liquid nails are used for gluing baguettes to the ceiling. The disadvantage of these compounds is that they smell unpleasant and are afraid of moisture. To make a baguette with applied adhesive composition“grabbed”, you need to press it against the wall and ceiling for several minutes. The glue will hold the baguette securely for a long time, but it will not be possible to mask the joints, cracks and irregularities.

Sticking under a suspended ceiling

For many, the issue of gluing baguettes under a suspended ceiling causes fear and certain difficulties. But the wolf is not as scary as it is painted. The procedure has its own characteristics, which you will now get acquainted with.

The features of gluing baguettes under a suspended ceiling are as follows.

  1. Cutting should be done not under the ceiling, but on the floor, so as not to damage the film
  2. The baguette is glued only to the wall, so the adhesive solution is applied only to one side that is in contact with the wall
  3. A strip of paper is inserted into the gap between the baguette and the suspended ceiling, and then the baguette is painted.

Baguettes look natural under a suspended ceiling.

By adopting all the tips presented, you can easily solve the problem of how to glue baguettes to the ceiling without extra costs. Good luck with the renovation everyone!

With the help of baguettes it is possible to create original design and hide some shortcomings, but during repairs the question arises - how to glue them to the ceiling?

Types of baguettes and their purpose

There are products on sale different forms, sizes and materials. The most common:

  • polyurethane foam;
  • foam;
  • plastic;
  • gypsum;
  • wooden.

Polyurethane foam moldings are often used because they are lightweight and can have complex shape. Their analogues made of foam plastic are also used, but polyurethane foam has best characteristics strength and appearance. You can easily glue the baguette to a suspended ceiling, wall or other surface.

Wood products are used when the design of the room implies the presence of this material. Plastic baguettes help to unobtrusively decorate the perimeter of tensile structures.

As for plaster parts, they are heavier than others. Large samples are additionally reinforced and mounted on a special solution.

This option is suitable for finishing ceilings in classic style, Baroque and the like.

Baguettes are used for the following purposes:

  • masking defects at joints and flat surfaces;
  • organization of stepped structures;
  • design of the transition between wall and ceiling;
  • creating an additional decorative effect.

Compositions of adhesive masses

Different mixtures are used, much depends on the size, weight and material of the molding.

There are options for adhesive masses:

  • Putty solution. A composition that is suitable for installing any type of baguettes, including gypsum. Apply it in a thin layer to avoid any large gap between the product and the surface. It sets gradually, so it is necessary to provide temporary support. The remaining finishing work is carried out after the solution has dried. Excess should be removed immediately using a spatula and a damp brush.
  • Polymer adhesive composition. This mixture is mainly chosen for installing tiles on the base. Although the curing time is reduced, you still need to hold the moldings a little so that they do not move under their own weight.
  • Sealant. Is it silicone or acrylic compositions, which quickly and efficiently connect light baguettes to the surface. Additionally, they are used to process gaps and joints.
  • Liquid nails. Even large elements are glued with this substance. It is enough to apply a few dots or stripes of glue and press the molding well for 30 seconds.

When buying baguettes, find out in advance which adhesive material will be optimal in your case.

Preparatory work

Installation is divided into several stages. The first of these is preparation of the base, which consists of clearing putty residues and eliminating obvious defects, for example, voids and cracks, bumps, etc.

The glue will adhere well to a surface that is free of dust and dirt. If installation is carried out before the final decorative finishing, you can safely use a primer.

At the same time, the angles are aligned to achieve a value close to 90 degrees.

Afterwards you need to prepare the baguettes. I produce them 2 meters long, so there will be no problems with installing the straight parts, but the corner elements need to be cut to 45 degrees. The moldings are leaned against the ceiling to check the joint. If it turns out uneven, the joints are corrected sharp knife.

Installation features

The process is similar for all types of materials, but it is worth noting how to glue baguettes onto a suspended ceiling. In this case, glue is applied only to the lower part of the product, so as not to spoil the canvas.

Some conditions must be met:

  • the surface must be prepared in advance;
  • the most visible corner of the room is taken as the starting point;
  • products are joined as tightly as possible to each other at the same level;
  • the joints are additionally coated with white adhesive, the excess is removed immediately;
  • If necessary, the moldings are painted.

When installed on multi-level ceiling structures There are no problems with plasterboard. Here the angles and planes are drawn to ideal parameters, no need to worry about the cleanliness of the finish. When designing areas along the walls, many more questions arise. One of them: what to glue first?

Pasting to wallpaper

This method is considered more correct, as it avoids the risk of staining finished coating. Algorithm of actions:

  1. The surface is leveled.
  2. The walls and ceiling are primed.
  3. Moldings are glued.
  4. The baguette is covered at the joints.
  5. After drying, unevenness is corrected, and the sealant protruding in the seams is cut off.
  6. The ceiling and baguettes are painted in at least two layers.

Sheets of wallpaper are taken with a margin to create an overlap on the baguette. Then a flat spatula is inserted, and all excess is cut off with a sharp knife along the line of the joint with the molding.

Installation over wallpaper

If the decorative elements have a complex shaped edge, it is more advisable to stick it after the wallpaper has dried.

In this case, it is necessary to mark the installation line of the products. The glue is applied both to the part adjacent to the ceiling and to the part adjacent to the wall. You need to lightly peel off the vinyl or other coating from the wallpaper, without going beyond the markings, then they will adhere to the glue faster.

Before painting the molding, it is better to additionally protect the wallpaper with film or other material. The same color of the ceiling and baguettes will create a monolithic effect and visually expand the space.

Finishing ceiling surface It almost always ends with the installation of a decorative plinth, which gives the room a finished and harmonious look. However, this part of the work requires adherence to a certain sequence and technology, especially regarding the design of corners. In this article we will look at how to glue baguettes to ceilings to ensure a high-quality repair.

Features of using baguettes

In addition to the fact that ceiling moldings allow you to harmoniously design the transition from the wall to the ceiling surface, they also have a number of advantages, including:

  • budget price;
  • wide range of sizes, shapes, configurations;
  • availability of the opportunity to use decorative plinth with any types of ceiling finishing;
  • flexibility allows you to bypass unevenness on the walls and hide them;
  • ease of installation.

Depending on the material from which they are made, you can choose the following types of products:

  • foam and polyurethane;
  • plastic;
  • aluminum;
  • plaster
  • wooden.

Ceiling plinths can be smooth or embossed, narrow and wide.

Before you start gluing the ceiling molding, you need to decide what the products will be installed on. Most often, compositions are used for polystyrene foam materials. But you can find other alternatives on sale:

  • putty is often used to glue two surfaces together. The main advantage is that it not only securely fixes the plinth, but also allows you to immediately seal visible seams and transitions;
  • liquid nails securely secure the plinth under the ceiling, ensuring instant adhesion of the two surfaces;
  • acrylic glue is used for installation wooden skirting boards and a foam baguette;
  • silicone sealants are also used to secure baguettes, but they have significant drawback– after installation, exposed areas of silicone cannot be painted.

To make sure that you have chosen the correct composition, read the information on the instructions for the glue. Manufacturers usually indicate the type of material to which a certain type of adhesive is suitable.

To correctly install the plinth, you need to make markings on the wall surface. You can skip this step if all angles in your room are strictly 90°. For a large room, it is better to start from the corners. Prepare a solution of water and soap, a small sponge and a spatula in advance.

The algorithm of actions will be as follows:

  • Apply a small amount of glue to the edge of the plinth using a spatula, carefully coat the joints of the elements;
  • work carefully so that the glue does not get on the front side of the plinth;
  • place the baguette on the surface, press it tightly;
  • Immediately remove any exposed glue with a sponge soaked in soapy water;
  • After you have covered the entire perimeter of the ceiling with plinth, seal the seams between the individual parts with putty.

We are talking about when the walls have already been decorated with wallpaper, and on top of them you need to apply a baguette to the ceilings. In this case the order will be as follows:

  • the ends of the plinth are trimmed using a miter box;
  • the reverse side of the plank is coated with glue;
  • apply the product to the wall and, pressing lightly, hold it for as long as indicated on the packaging for the glue;
  • excess glue is removed with a sponge;
  • the joints are sealed with silicone-based sealant;
  • If necessary, the plinth is painted.

With this method, care must be taken not to damage the wallpaper. If you plan to paint the baguette, it is better to do this before installing it.

In this case, the peculiarity of the work is that they first glue the baguettes to the ceiling, use a putty mixture to seal cracks and gaps, and only then proceed to finishing the wall surfaces. In this case, it is necessary to very carefully bypass the line of gluing the baguette. Even the slightest shortcomings in subsequent repairs that were made in this place will become noticeable. If you are not confident in your abilities, then stick baguettes to the ceilings after decorative finishing of the walls.

Joining the plinth in the corners is the most difficult stage of work associated with their installation.

Important! To avoid damaging the material, adjust the last straight strip to size after gluing the corner.

If all angles in your room are strictly 90°, the following recommendations will help you trim the baguette correctly:

  • place the baguette in the miter box exactly as it will be located on the wall surface;
  • Press the lower part of the plinth tightly against the wall of the tool;
  • miter box until required sizes trim the parts of the fillets that will meet at the corners;
  • Using a construction blade, finish finishing the outer sides of the parts;
  • check the evenness of the joints by applying the elements to each other at right angles so that there are no burrs left. Otherwise, gaps will appear at the installation site.

To glue baguettes in the corners of the room, proceed in the following sequence:

  • Having cut off the end of the products, attach the fillets to each other, check the place where they are joined for the presence of gaps;
  • cut off the interfering areas with a knife;
  • coat the baseboards with glue and attach them to the wall surface. If the glue requires curing, wait the specified amount of time.

Ceiling polyurethane or plastic skirting boards usually have white, so many people want to give a different shade to baguettes that will suit the style and design of the room. There are several other reasons why there is a need to paint glued plinths:

  • Often the surface of the baguette contains minor defects in the form of scratches and dents, which are especially noticeable in bright lighting;
  • the loose structure of the material does not always look aesthetically pleasing. Skirting boards are easy to paint, so this flaw can be successfully masked;
  • Over time, white fillets lose their original shade and turn yellow. Painting and decoration can easily eliminate this defect;
  • applying a layer of paint will help hide the joints formed during the installation process;
  • It is recommended to coat wooden baguettes with varnish or special impregnations. This will not only make them more attractive, but will also extend their service life.

Before you start painting work, you must select suitable paint. For foam products, water-based emulsion and acrylic compounds are best suited.

If you want to do original interior, use glazes - these are special paints with which you can get different textures on the surface of the baguette - natural wood or stone, patina, gold, etc.

It is better to paint ceiling skirting boards before they are glued. In this case, you can use not only regular paints, which are applied with a brush, but also sprayers.

The paint is usually applied in two layers to achieve best result. In this case, before applying the next layer, the previous one must dry well.

  • measure the perimeter of the room:
  • divide the resulting value by the standard length of one baguette (2 m);
  • round the result up;
  • add two or three more elements for an unforeseen event (damage during installation or transportation).

Variety of shapes and types ceiling fillets often confronts buyers with difficulties, then they need to choose suitable product. After all, your own preferences do not always correspond to the chosen direction in the interior. To avoid mistakes, pay attention to the following tips:

  • for narrow and long rooms choose wider fillets;
  • in a low room, a thin plinth under the ceiling will look better;
  • minimalism will be emphasized by a modest white plinth; for lush interiors, you should choose pompous baguettes that imitate stucco;
  • if the color of the baseboard matches the shade of the walls, it will visually lengthen the room, it matches the color of the ceiling - the walls will become noticeably higher;
  • As for the material, it all depends on your financial capabilities. The cheapest are foam and polyurethane baseboards, the most expensive are wooden and aluminum baguettes. In any case, you can always paint the product in the desired color.

Correctly gluing a baguette to the ceiling is not difficult. The main thing is that before installation, study the features of the products and choose a reliable adhesive.
