How to make a non-standard door opening. Technology for installing non-standard interior doors in stages

We provide a unique opportunity - any size of the door leaf in increments of 1 cm. This guarantees confidence that the doors of our factory will fit any doorway. The only limitation is the maximum possible dimensions of the canvases: 240x100cm.

Keep in mind that when changing sizes, the proportions of panels and pillar elements may change. For example, if the height of the Gloria model increases, the internal grille will remain the same size, but with a width of 60 cm, the Vienna model can only have one row of small panels.

But even in this case, there is a way out - you can supplement the height of the opening with a transom in the same style as the door model. With wide doorway can be installed swing door of two halves. But even in this case, there is a way out - you can supplement the height of the opening with a transom in the same style as the door model. If the doorway is wide, you can install a swing door made of two halves.
We approach each order individually. Our managers will definitely advise and advise the best option in one or another non-standard case.

Professional interior designers often use non-standard interior doors in their projects, as they visually expand and transform the space. Large doors are usually distinguished by their height: 210, 220 or 230 cm and have especially taken root in industrial loft and classics. They are chosen if doorway non-standard: higher or lower than 2 meters or wider than 90 cm. Non-standard doors differ not only in size, but also in the type of opening, which can be rotary, sliding, pendulum, folding.

Peculiarities

Custom doors create original interior and stand out noticeably against the background of other decoration and furniture. Some buyers consciously choose high doors for transformation internal space at home, others - because they have no other choice. It is not always possible to artificially reduce openings that are too high, or the owners of the house do not want to carry out dirty work in their own home and do redevelopment by narrowing the opening. But they are not satisfied with the unreliable plasterboard block in the opening.

The only correct solution is to buy non-standard doors.

Their advantages:

  • They visually change the space: they make the ceilings higher, the walls wider;
  • They create an accent in the room and emphasize its proportions;
  • Do not require artificial narrowing or reduction of the opening;
  • Tall canvases are chosen by tall people - more than 2 meters - in order to pass through the opening comfortably.

Among the disadvantages of too high or wide canvases, we note that they:

  • They are made to order, which means that it is almost impossible to purchase ready-made doors on the same day and you will have to wait for them to be produced at the factory;
  • They will cost, on average, 30% more than regular standard canvas;
  • They are heavy, especially if the door is made of 100% solid wood. In this case, you need to further strengthen the opening or, at least, make sure of its strength - call a master measurer or other competent specialist.

Non-standard interior doors have one significant pro: they look great in the interior of the house and especially in combination with high ceilings. Agree that with its height of three to four meters, ordinary two-meter doors will simply be lost. And 230 cm models will look good.

Non-standard doors are not only great-sized doors, but also unusual in design and method of opening the model. Fully glass doors combine the space of the dining room and kitchen or bedroom and dressing room. Bright ones transform monochrome interior. The type of door opening also differs, and has recently become popular sliding design or a hidden canvas without a box and trim in the color of the wall.

Dimensions

Standard height interior door - 2000 mm, or 200 cm. Anything greater or less than this value is called non-standard door leaves: 180, 190, 210, 220 and 230 cm.

Standard width interior fabric: 60, 70, 80 and 90 cm. Some manufacturers call the canvas 40 cm wide or 190 cm high as standard, but not all. The indicated numbers are Russian standards, which may differ from European ones.

The frame and platbands for non-standard height or width of the door are made to order along with the door. The kit may include extensions - wooden panels that cover the wall with inside and from the side of the box. If the wall thickness is more than 10 cm, then they will be needed. Their thickness depends on the size of the wall, and the minimum width of the additional panel is 3 cm.

The standard height of the opening for an entrance door is determined by 2070-2370 mm or 2000-2300 mm by the height of the door leaf itself. Width – 900 mm, but no less.

The width of an entrance door is considered to be 1000 mm (100 cm) if it is single-leaf. One and a half entrance doors have a width of 1300, 1500 and 1540 mm, double doors - 1900 and 1940 mm.

Kinds

Non-standard doors are classified into entrance and interior doors. Input models in a private house usually wider and higher than their apartment counterparts. Doors for country house are made to order if the opening height is more than 2370 mm or the width is more than 1000 mm for a single-leaf model.

Interior doors differ in the type of opening.

Non-standard designs include:

  • Sliding with one or two doors;
  • Swing double-leaf;
  • Radius: open like a coupe, but their rails are C-shaped;
  • Pendulum: open in both directions - forward and backward, which is why they got their name.

Doors differ in shape: rectangular - standard, arched - non-standard. Often it is arched openings that require custom-made door panels, because manufacturers do not make semicircular doors for warehouses. It is important to correctly take measurements from a rounded opening and create a door that is ideal in shape and parameters, because it is known that the bending angle of the opening will differ for opening widths of 60 and 90 cm.

Materials

Interior doors are classified according to the main material and can be made of wood, plastic, or glass.

Wooden doors are also different: it can be 100% solid wood or wooden frame inside the canvas. Doors can be lined with natural material - veneer or synthetic - eco-veneer, PVC, this also includes painted models (with enamel coating).

Doors made of solid wood are heavy, and a non-standard door with a height of 230 cm will weigh more than a two-meter door. Before purchasing and installing them, you need to evaluate the quality of the openings and answer the question of whether it will withstand a massive structure. Invite for evaluation qualified craftsman. If the door weighs more than 50-70 kg, then you will need to purchase reinforced hinges.

Lightweight doors made of solid pine or hollow models are also made to order according to individual measurements and have a completely standard weight - up to 40 kg. All glass is made from tempered glass– material resistant to mechanical damage and shock. Even if such a canvas breaks, its fragments are unlikely to injure anyone; they will turn out to be too small and blunt or, on the contrary, large and relatively safe. How the glass will behave in the event of an impact can be predicted by the manufacturer based on the production technology.

Plastic doors are placed on a balcony, loggia, bathroom or storage room, bathhouse, garage. If the plastic sheet is more than 2 meters long and 90 cm wide, choose a durable model with two or more chambers.

How to choose?

Depending on the area and layout of the apartment, interior doors of one size or another are selected, shape, opening method and design as a whole.

For a small apartment

If the openings are standard in height and width, you will have to pay attention to those opening systems that will save space in it: sliding, folding, rotary doors. Sliding single or double door you can afford it if the width of the wall is greater than the width of the opening, that is, it will be possible to “swing open” or pull out the door into this area. If there is no additional space for a sliding panel on the wall, then the choice falls on folding or rotary doors. The folding leaf consists of 2-3 leaves, which form a full-fledged door. Its main disadvantage is low noise and heat insulation. In addition, the canvas folds like an accordion and occupies part of the opening.

The rotary opening system is good for any room size, opening width and height. The rotary door does not eat usable area when opened, like a hinged apartment, it does not occupy the opening and wall, like a folding and hinged apartment, respectively. But it will cost more than all the opening systems presented.

Non-standard opening

The size of the openings differs from generally accepted standards: doors will have to be made to order. Entirely wooden or 100% solid wood panels are of excellent quality, functionality, practicality, last about 50 years, but are expensive. An alternative is veneered, with solid pine inside and natural veneer on the outside. Such a canvas does not differ in appearance from solid wood, but differs significantly in weight and cost. The advantage of veneer is its environmental friendliness and aesthetic appearance. Minus - maybe high price for a set of doors.

If the budget for purchasing non-standard doors is limited, pay attention to artificial coating: eco-veneer, PVC, lamination or enamel. Eco-veneer is highly durable and looks similar to natural wood. PVC is a film that is resistant to damage and changes in temperature and humidity. PVC models are usually the cheapest on the market. Laminated fabrics have a high-strength artificial outer coating and benefit from the fact that they differ in range and texture. The enamel coating is fire-resistant and at the same time aesthetic. It can be bright and can be painted, changed or adjusted the color of the canvas.

When choosing an interior door, it is important to pay attention to its filling. Veneered models usually contain solid or spliced solid pine inside. Such doors insulate noise well, retain heat, and create a favorable microclimate in the room. Exterior finishing It can be anything: natural or artificial veneer, PVC, enamel, lamination.

Hollow doors, inside of which there is a timber frame and cardboard filling, do not insulate noise well, but are lighter in weight. They are chosen if the opening is not strong enough or is artificially narrowed with the help of thin wood panels or when you need to visually divide the room.

Opening too wide

A doorway wider than 95-100 cm is considered non-standard. And there are several options for its arrangement: you can choose two standard canvas widths; their opening design can be hinged or sliding. One swing leaf may be wider than the second, which will not open. You can order a single wide canvas, for example, 110 cm, and install it in the opening.

The opening is narrow

An opening less than 60 cm wide is considered narrow. The 40 cm canvas can be placed in the bathroom or kitchen, pantry or dressing room. You can beat it in the following way: install a door with a height of 210, 220 or 230 cm and play with contrast. Unusual solution– an invisible door without a frame or trim, which visually merges with the wall and is visible only when opened

Doors - decorative unit

In this case, choose fully or partially glass doors. Glass visually increases the area of the living space and makes it bright. Often the openings are made in the shape of an arch, then both the canvas and the box will be rounded in shape.

If you do not want to overpay 20-50 percent for non-standard interior doors, then you need to decide on the doorway in advance.

You need to start from the doors you like, the variety of which can satisfy even the most fastidious taste. Basically, doors are produced in standard sizes: 2 meters high and 60, 70, and 80 cm wide.

Helpful information:

Less common is a standard with a width of 40, 55 and 90 cm and a height of 1.9 meters. The thickness of the door frames can vary in the range of 1.5-4 cm.

Table of standard opening sizes

Depending on the room, standard door sizes may be used.

This is how they usually put it:

  • in the bathroom and toilet, the height of the opening is usually from 1.9 to 2 meters, width 55-60 cm, depth 5-7 cm.
  • in the kitchen height 2 meters, width 70 cm, depth 7 cm.
  • in the bedroom or living room, the height of the doorway will be 2 meters, width 80 cm and depth from 7 cm to 20 cm.
  • if the door to the bedroom has double doors, then only the width will change: it will be either 2*60 cm, or 40+80 cm.

After plastering works and leveling the walls, the depth of the doorway will increase accordingly.

Data dimensions doorways very difficult to overestimate. After all, if you did not take them into account in your calculations, you may encounter a problem when your door frame does not fit into the opening. And not every opening can be enlarged; sometimes this is impossible due to the specific layout or design of the wall. If this bearing wall, then you will also face a number of difficulties.

Even a simple wall from plasterboard it is not easy to reduce due to transfer metal profiles. IN in this case you will have to overpay for non-standard sizes of interior doors.

There is also the opposite situation, when the doorway is much more doors. Here you will also overpay specialists when installing the door, for narrowing the opening.

An unpleasant situation may arise when, as a result of reduction, the platband cannot close the hole in the doorway. In this case, you will need to seal up the uncovered sections of the wall, glue wallpaper or lay tiles. It’s good if the room hasn’t been glued up yet, but if it has been, then everything will have to be re-glued.

Therefore, even at the project stage, you need to decide on the size of the doorways, then you won’t have to overpay for non-standard doors or redo the opening.

What you need to know to calculate a doorway:

  • height and width of the proposed door
  • door frame thickness
  • box width
  • width of platbands
  • the box will be with or without a threshold.

Suppose you need a door measuring 2 by 0.8 meters and 2.5 cm thick. To calculate the dimensions of the doorway, you need to add the dimensions of the frame to the dimensions of the door, plus an installation gap of 1 to 2 cm on each side.

Figure y shows a diagram of a doorway with a door and dimensions. Using these data, we can easily obtain the opening width of 800+30+30+10+10+4+2=886 mm or 88.6 cm.

You can find out the width of the frame on the website of the manufacturer of the doors you like.

  • with a threshold of 2000+30+30+10+5+3=2078 mm. or 2 meters and 7.8 cm..
  • without threshold 2000+30+10+5+3=2048 mm. or 2 meters and 4.8 cm..

Please note that the most common thickness is 7.5 cm and therefore many manufacturers adhere to this particular size.

If the wall is thicker or thinner than the box, then you will need to install an extension or cut the box lengthwise, respectively. Without these operations you will not be able to and everything will look much worse.

Installing interior doors is not a very difficult, but responsible job that requires a very careful approach. Usually people trust its specialists, but what to do if finances do not allow you to use this service? Our article will come to your aid, which will tell you how to install non-standard interior doors with your own hands. But first, let’s figure out what types of interior doors there are.

Types of doors for interior spaces

Depending on the design characteristics, the interior door can be:

  • swing, which has one or two doors. It is customary to install a door with one leaf in standard openings, but for a non-standard opening it makes more sense to take door leaves with two leaves;
  • folding, which is used to save space in the room. Depending on the design, they may have different size and represent an accordion or a book;
  • door-coupe, which looks like a structure of one or two doors that move along the wall along special guides. Installing such doors will cost more if you order this service from specialists, and the cost of the doors themselves is quite high;
  • the following category belongs to the group exclusive designs. These can be models made of one glass, stable models or structures that open in different directions.

Opening measurements

The following describes the requirements that apply when door leaf installed for the first time, not changed.

The first thing you need to pay attention to is the walls. Work on installing the door structure should begin only after all construction activities have been completed. If the walls are not dry yet, then installed door may become warped during operation. The height of the threshold depends on the thickness of the floor covering and its type.

Before choosing interior design it is necessary to take measurements of the doorway, and if its size is standard, then it will not cause much difficulty. How does the installation of interior doors take place if they do not have standard size? You can order such a door in workshops, but you need to be prepared that its price can be quite high. The work of installing such models is not much different from standard designs, but still has its own nuances.

The frame and the door leaf should not fit tightly to each other; ideally, this distance should be 2 mm top side and 4 mm on the bottom side. If such gaps are missing, you will not be able to open or close the door. But you shouldn’t make them big either, otherwise the door will wobble and close poorly.

The next step is to install double interior doors. At this stage you have to choose its design and what it will be.

Both models have their advantages:

  • doorsliding suitable for small rooms, therefore, in order to save space, this is optimal solution. To install such doors, fastenings of a special design are required, along which the sliding of the panels will take place;
  • swing design more popular. Its installation can solve the problem of sound insulation, which a sliding model will never do. But the opening system will take longer usable space, therefore, installation of such models is recommended in spacious rooms.

Having decided on the design of the door, it is necessary to take measurements of the opening and, if necessary, adjust the size required for such a model, reducing or increasing it. The work is not difficult, but you need to remember that the width of the opening should be approximately 90-110 mm larger than the width of the canvas.

The required size and width of the opening is determined by the following formula:

Shpr = 2*(Tdk+3+Shdp)+4. Where

  • Shpr is the width of the opening;
  • Tdk is the thickness of the timber;
  • Wdp is the width of the canvas.

If you intend to install a sliding model, then the opening must be prepared so that its width is 100 mm less than the door leaf.

Materials and tools

The next thing to do is to prepare the necessary set of tools and accessories for the work:

  • chisels;
  • hammer;
  • screwdrivers;
  • roulette;
  • hacksaw;
  • level;
  • circular and miter saw;
  • screwdriver;
  • perforator;
  • electric milling machine

From the accessories you will need:

  • door hinges;
  • lock with latches.

Dismantling old structures

The next step involves dismantling old door. to install interior models correctly, the size of which does not meet certain standards, it is necessary to remove the old ones. Dismantling work begins with the removal of old structures. Old box is also dismantled.

To remove the door, you need to carry out the following manipulations with it:

  • open the door 90 degrees and pull the door leaf up.
  • If the door is very old, then it will not be possible to quickly remove the panel. You must first swing it in different directions, gradually lifting it up until the canvas begins to be removed.

Once you have removed the door panel, you can proceed to the next step. Next up is the box. To dismantle it, you need to remove the solution holding it to the opening, and then break out its components using a pry bar or other tool.

At this stage, the box is prepared for installation in the doorway. The work of assembling it will not cause any difficulties; the main thing here is to adjust the timber to the required size.

To prevent this work from leading to a dead end, experts recommend using a formula that will help you find out the required size of the timber:

Shvk= 2*(Shd+3)+4. Where

  • Shvk is the width of the inside of the box;
  • Shd is the width of the door.

Without width and height indicator, this work installation of the door will not be possible.

Remember that the operation of the door depends on compliance with all the rules. The work of assembling the box is carried out according to the following principle:

  • apply the required length of the piece to the timber and cut it along the marked lines;
  • the box is designed to hold door designs, so the next thing to do is to cut the hinges into the beams;
  • All that remains is to connect all the parts and fasten them.

Installing a door frame

Installation of the box takes place in several stages:

  • the box is installed using building level to avoid distortions. It is also recommended to prepare wedges so that the box does not move during fastening;
  • in addition, make sure that the beams are vertical so that the frame does not extend beyond the doorway;
  • after it is installed and adjusted horizontally and vertically, it must be fixed using wedges;
  • holes are drilled in the box for future screws and marks are made on the wall;
  • remove the box and prepare holes in the wall according to the marks;
  • plugs are installed in these holes and the box is put in place, after which it is fastened with self-tapping screws;
  • The cracks are filled with foam.

As you can see, the work of installing a door frame is not difficult, the main thing is to follow the necessary algorithm of actions.

Installing non-standard doors involves opening and closing doors in different directions. Therefore, before inserting hinges, you need to decide on this point and choose which way your doors will open.

Once you decide on this issue, you can start inserting the loops. Work begins with preparing holes on the side of the door, bottom and top. The main parameter when marking holes is the height. Ideally, the height of the bottom hole from the floor line should be 20-25 cm, and the height from the top edge of the door should be 15-20 cm.

If your door has a standard size, then two hinges for fastening will be enough. If the door size is large and the weight is massive, then it is better to add another attachment point, then the hangers will support even the largest and most massive structure.

After applying the markings, check them again for correctness so that you don’t have to redo the work. In addition, the height at which the hinges are located must correspond to the height of the hinges marked on the box. Now you can fasten the hinges with self-tapping screws.

Door hanging and trim installation

After installing the hinges, they begin to hang the doors. As soon as you hang it, you can start installing the trim.

Their installation can be done in two ways:

  • with corners cut at 45 degrees;
  • with 90 degree corners.

The work of installing platbands looks like this:

  • When the door leaf is installed, it is necessary to close the junction of the frame and the wall. Platbands are used for these purposes. The work of installing them is not very difficult. The required size of the frames can be found out by measuring the tray from the floor to the intersection of the top beam of the box. This will be the height of the casing;
  • The resulting height is marked on the trim strip and the required size is cut off. If the platbands are installed at an angle of 45 degrees, then another 3 mm must be added to the resulting segment. If you install platbands at an angle of 90 degrees, then the height of the segment increases by the width of the installed platbands;
  • as soon as the required size of the platband has been measured, it is necessary to trim it;
  • It is recommended to install awnings from the side of the awnings, thereby decorating the door leaf;
  • The remaining parts of the canopies are prepared according to the same principle: I mark them and cut them off. Please note that the height parameter may not correspond to two canopy slats; it is better to take measurements for each platband separately.

Installing such a door uses a different operating algorithm:

  • rollers are installed on the door leaf;

  • the height at which the guide profile will be installed is measured;
  • at this level it is necessary to fix the block and the guide profile on it;
  • install the door into the guide profile;
  • after such a door has been installed, the guide profile must be covered with a decorative strip.

Not in all rooms and it is not always possible to install doors standard sizes. In order not to leave the opening open, accessible to anyone, you will have to install a non-standard input block, optimal for a particular case, suitable in size and material. The purchase and installation of such a product has some features compared to conventional doors.

Peculiarities

Custom doors are almost always made according to individual order, you have to wait longer to receive them than the usual ones described in the catalogs of manufacturers and suppliers. Installation will also inevitably be complicated.

At any factory, door leaves with a width of 60, 70, 80 and 90 cm and a height of 200 cm are considered standard. Some enterprises have also produced products of other sizes - 40 and 55 cm in width, 190 cm in height.

Anything that does not fit these dimensions can no longer be considered standard. When submitting such an order, be prepared to encounter restrictions. Some companies make atypical doors in increments of a millimeter, others - no less than 5-10 centimeters. And there are factories where such tasks are not performed at all.

It is also worth considering that interior doors below 180 and above 230 centimeters are not produced anywhere. The increase in cost of the closest standard analogue is at least 30-50%.

The difference between a non-standard door and an ordinary one can be expressed not only in the fact that it is wider or higher: solutions of unusual shapes are often found. In many designs, atypical fittings are installed, the opening of the sashes and the number of them differ.

Kinds

The shape of a non-standard door can be arched or radius (curved, in other words).

But also arch is not always the same: in one version both the opening and the canvas are rounded, in the other - only the top of the canvas.

Radius doors mainly sliding in their format, or perform the function interior partition. A radius door is sometimes equipped with round leaves - concave, convex, both at the same time, but regardless of the shape, they are almost always made of tempered glass.

The radius door is universal; it can be used in a hotel, business center or shopping center, and in a small apartment. Both sidewalls and transoms are placed in the opening simultaneously with the main panel.

Non-standard interior doors for large openings most often sliding, equipped with several canvases at once. But it is very difficult to give recommendations in such a case without knowing the specifics of your case.

Please note that the more canvases, the more guides should be, fixed from below or from above.

The canvases move both in one direction and in different directions, depending on the design.

Entrance rotary doors It is advisable to use it where a lot of people pass. This is a design with two, three or four doors that rotate like a carousel. It can be set in motion either by those passing by themselves, or by automation (motion sensors, blocks that set a certain rotation speed).

Braking systems are almost always used to prevent over-acceleration, and emergency opening systems are used.

Materials

For a long time now, door manufacturers have not limited themselves to using natural wood. They use a wide range of materials, and the consumer is forced to understand all the intricacies of them.

  • Metal the designs are quite original, and if experienced designers work on them, they will be able to attract everyone's attention. There are widespread options in which the outer part is covered with MDF, the inner part is all-metal (or they are swapped). Decorating with forged parts is very attractive, but remember that it makes the product heavier.

  1. shopping centers;
  2. office buildings;
  3. institutions for leisure and entertainment.
  • Plastic non-standard doors can be used in the most different places, they are practical, and the ease of processing of this material allows you to create uniquely beautiful designs based on it. In addition, the availability and low cost of PVC are very important for private customers. Commercial organizations I'm attracted by the ability to easily dismantle such doors and transport them quickly to a new location.

It is possible to buy a non-standard wooden door at a fairly low price, if you prefer a frame covered with chipboard, hardboard or slats. In most cases, to make the structure more attractive, even budget products are covered with veneer. You can’t count on the strength of the panel frame, so it’s more of a way to divide rooms than to protect the entrance to the house.

The undisputed leadership in strength and service life is occupied by paneled doors made of high-quality wood. The solid array is very aesthetically pleasing and can even fit into a space designed according to all design rules. But to protect the surface from moisture, heat and cold, a coating of MDF boards is used.

Glued solid wood is not much inferior in terms of aesthetic characteristics and strength, it is relatively cheap, but it retains heat less well and can be deformed during thermal compression and expansion.

Metallic or plastic door can be anything, but most often they are made black, white, or brown.

Natural wood allows you to “play” with shades, achieving very original look. Thus, the ash tree can be red, brown or pink, the color of beech varies from pink to yellow-red. The increasingly popular wenge wood is always yellowish, cherry wood is slightly pink at first but will then darken.

Various styles

The door is not just a functional element; its role in the design of space is very large. But that's why your own style door block so important.

Concept classic rather vague - this word can denote both an ancient motif (in Greek or Roman versions), and medieval Gothic, and Baroque (including its most sophisticated form, Rococo).

Important: no matter which of these styles you choose, doors designed in accordance with it are in no way suitable for a small space.

Country and Provence are quite close to each other, but still there is a significant difference between them, which should not be forgotten. In the city, country music is too rude, but provencal style It completely allows you to get away from any heaviness and pretentiousness.

Please note: if you choose a door in the Provence style, you will either have to redo the entire interior of the room in the same vein, or put up with inconsistencies in the design.

Typical colors: cream, white, terracotta, beige, light green and blue; For a door, a white paint on a purposefully aged surface is best suited. When choosing country, you can choose either pastel shades or very bright tones.

Vintage the options no longer focus on simplicity and light elegance, but on pronounced old-fashionedness. Their advantage is the ability to be used harmoniously in any environment, including studio apartments. However, for the latter it is much more appropriate to use loft doors, which help divide the space into isolated sections.

Doors are no less effective at separating it. V Japanese style - but they are made only from oak and beech, and are not available to everyone for financial reasons.

Palm among door styles Minimalism has now conquered due to its undeniable advantages:

  • stealth;
  • emphasizing commitment to high technology;
  • facilities;
  • thoughtfulness and absence of the slightest excesses;
  • compatibility with any design approaches.

Of course, you are not limited to these options - you can also focus on functionality modern, on ergonomic style high tech, on the magnificent originality of ethnic motifs. The main thing is that the result suits you in all respects.

How to choose?

Non-standard doors for a private house - if the opening is only slightly larger than the standard indicators - are “accordions”, sliding or swinging open. When the required height is more than 250 cm and the width is more than 150 cm, an arched shape is preferred.

If the width of the arched opening is sufficient (from 120 centimeters), it is possible to install both a double-leaf and a single-leaf door made of lightweight material. You don’t have to limit your choice to options with strictly identical doors - usually only one is used, and the narrow one is opened only when necessary.
