What does the door frame look like? Door frame: materials of manufacture, parameters, design features

The box beam, with which the opening is framed, is one of the components of the door. It is clear that when the frame of the canvas is aluminum, steel or plastic, then the box is made of the same materials.

Concerning interior options, then the frame for sliding doors, as well as for swinging and swinging doors, can be made not only from solid wood, but also from various artificially created materials. We will talk further about what types of interior door frames there are, and the video in this article will serve as a visual aid to the presented material.

Everyone knows that the highest value doors are made of solid wood. It is clear that exotic goods brought from the tropics become more expensive due to delivery, although their quality is also excellent. But what about the inexpensive wood that grows in our latitudes: spruce, pine, linden, birch?

  • From this list, the door frame can only be made from pine. The rest of the wood cracks and chips easily, or has many knots and other defects. It is the knots in wood that are biggest problem for carpentry - and the point here is not at all in the beauty of the design.
  • To make a box you need to cut it lengthwise solid timber. Any defects on it can be masked using putty, but this cannot relieve the tree of internal stress that has arisen in this area.
  • The tension in the timber contributes to the deformation of the finished carpentry, which manifests itself already during operation. To get such chic doors as in the picture below, the wood must be carefully sorted.

In nature, it is not very often found without any defects. Hence the high cost of the “extra” grade array, which has required quality and appearance. The price of the product depends not only on the grade, but also on the degree of value of the breed.

Traditionally, beech, oak, and ash are used for the manufacture of high-quality luxury doors. Species with reddish hues are also held in high esteem: cherry, walnut, alder, eucalyptus, which are usually called “mahogany.”

Spliced timber

The larger the timber, the greater the likelihood of it having natural defects. Therefore, interior door frames are often made from spliced timber.

Note! To make it, the boards are cut into small-section bars and defective areas are removed. First, the side edges are glued together under a press, producing short fragments. Then their ends are studded and glued along their length. The result is the strongest laminated veneer lumber without any defects in the mass.

Glued slabs are also produced using the same technology ( furniture panels), from which the door trim elements are cut out and panels are made. For the manufacture of panel door elements, cheaper wood slabs are used.

Defective wood is also used for gluing them, since the slab is lined on both sides hard fiberboard or plywood.

MDF and HDF

If spliced timber and slabs are, although not solid in mass, but still natural wood, then materials made from wood flour, sawdust and wood chips can be largely classified as composites.

These are medium and high density boards, abbreviated as MDF and HDF. They have a fairly large range of sizes, including thickness, which makes it possible to produce absolutely any parts of door leaves and frames.

So:

  • Considering that standard thickness box timber is at least 30 mm. In its manufacture, slabs with appropriate thickness are used. Non-standard frames for massive doors can also be made from sheets of greater thickness (up to 60 mm).
  • MDF is processed in exactly the same way as ordinary wood, and is used not only in the manufacture of interior furniture, but also street doors(cm. ). To obtain a material that is resistant to moisture, the slabs are impregnated with a special primer during the production process.
  • It must be said that due to its density and the presence of polymer binders, MDF is much less hygroscopic than most types of wood. Its dense and homogeneous mass allows deep profiling and milling to be carried out without problems - operations that are essential for the production of box timber.

So, when choosing an option for your home, do not forget about the advantages of this material. The main one is stability with respect to changes in temperature indoors or outdoors, due to which both individual door parts and the fasteners installed on them are held more reliably than on solid wood.

Laminated composites

A composite is a tandem of two or more types of raw materials or materials that can be mixed in bulk, like MDF, or have a layer-by-layer structure. The name “sandwich” is firmly attached to the last option, due to the great similarity with the “masterpiece” of the food industry of the same name.

Note! The surfaces of door elements made from composite materials, lined with artificial veneer, which perfectly imitates the natural texture of wood. It is a high-strength plastic (CPL), which manufacturers call eco-veneer.

The composites themselves can consist of different layers: including interlayers made of inexpensive solid wood, plywood, or the same MDF - which is what we see in the photo below.

So:

  • Multilayer structure provides this material required strength with a large margin. Can't say it's more cheap option– boxed timber made from eco-veneer is approximately in the same price niche as products made from MDF. Cost - approximately 300 rubles. for one beam.
  • This is even more expensive than the cost of timber made from unpainted pine, but it does not require facial finishing. Typically, the length of the rack is 2150 mm: the U-shaped box consists of three bars, in the O-shaped one, a threshold is also added to them.
  • It is very convenient that when we purchase a door frame, we can purchase the timber not as a set, but separately. In any case, when a double-leaf door is installed, you do not have to buy two sets of frames; one is enough.
  • Accordingly, additional strips are purchased individually, which allow you to increase the width of the box, and platbands (see), with the help of which the outer surfaces of the opening are framed.

Eco-veneer coating makes these parts not only very aesthetically pleasing, but also protects them from accidental mechanical damage, to which solid wood carpentry is especially susceptible.

Features of door frames

We discussed what door frames are made of. Further instructions concern design features box timber, its dimensions and installation. Like any molded product, it has three main parameters. What are they justified by?

Parameters of box timber

In cross-section, this is the width, which is tied to the thickness of the wall or partition, will provide the product with the necessary bearing capacity. For standard interior doors, these dimensions are 30*70 mm and 35*75 mm.

If you look carefully at the drawings given in the 1988 standard No. 6629, you will see that the width of the door leaf is everywhere 70 mm less than the opening. If the door is double-leaf, this difference is 72 mm.

So:

  • This distance consists of the thickness of the two pillars, plus the gaps in the door ledge on both sides. These gaps are usually adjusted during the installation of the box, because in walls, especially brick ones, deviations from the nominal dimensions of the openings can be 5-6 mm.
  • The minimum width of the box corresponds to the minimum thickness of the interior partition - 65 mm. As a rule, such partitions are made of brick or plasterboard structures.
  • At maximum, a standard box beam will have a width of 75 mm. In openings of thicker walls, it is necessary to either install plaster slopes or cover the jambs with additional strips. It looks schematically, as shown in the pictures below.

The length of the stands, of which there are two in the set, corresponds with a small margin standard height opening (2080 or 2150 mm). The length of the cross member is usually exactly half the length of the box post. If the door is one-and-a-half or two-leaf, you can simply buy three posts.

Profile configuration

In its shape, the cross-section of a traditional box beam resembles the letter “L”. The only difference is that its protruding part can have a simple geometric contour, or be profiled.

Boxes intended for installation of a conventional platband do not have longitudinal grooves on the side edges. But there are options designed for the installation of telescopic platbands, the shelves of which are inserted into grooves on the box.

All these options are presented in the examples below:

The box beam intended for... has a slightly different configuration. It is also telescopic, but has a different thickness and width, since each stand here is mounted from two beams connected by an additional strip with sealing strips glued to it.

Frame for sliding doors

The bar is placed on one side only. On the other hand, the beams are not connected to each other at all, since the doors must fit into the internal cavity of the partition. Instead of adding, it is inserted into the internal grooves brush seal. What this whole structure looks like can be clearly seen in the above picture.

And the last option is a new product on the carpentry market. This is a box beam that is mounted into a cavity in the wall, and allows you to install the door flush with its surface. In this case, there is no need to frame the opening with platbands, since no joints will be visible. Thus, by designing the door in the same style as the wall, it can be made almost invisible.

You can see for yourself - only a small gap in the vestibule, yes door knob indicate the presence of an opening. On such a box, the canvas is hung only on. Typically, such doors are sold complete with fittings and a frame, which consists of wooden block and profile aluminum trim.

The nuances of installing a traditional box

Manufacturers often take care of the consumer by applying notches and notches to the door leaves, making it as easy as possible to assemble with your own hands, and with a minimum set of tools. This is all the more convenient, since these doors are usually equipped with fittings.

However, every coin also has a downside. You may not be satisfied with the hinges offered by the manufacturer, and you won’t be able to install others there - so, when buying doors, you need to pay attention to these nuances.

By the way, the diagram above clearly shows at what points it is necessary to install door hinges. On it you can see where and what gaps should be provided during installation door block.

The box can be assembled in two ways:

  1. The side elements are cut out first., and the transverse beam is placed between them, in special grooves.
  2. First, cut out the shorter cross member, which is then laid on top of the ends of the racks.

To correctly cut out the parts of the box, you first need to accurately determine the installation diagram. The second option is easier to implement, since there is no need to cut tongues and grooves at the ends of the parts.

The block elements are secured to the ends of the opening using dowels or anchors - they are recessed into the mounting holes and covered with decorative plugs. When the door frame is securely fixed, the gaps between it and the wall are filled polyurethane foam, and with outside hide them by installing platbands.

When carrying out repairs, you should not forget about changing entrance and interior doors if they have already served their purpose or have lost their presentable appearance. An important criterion affecting performance characteristics doors are correctly selected measurements of door frames. The more accurately the dimensions are set, the longer the door will last, be it an entrance or an interior door. There are established standard sizes that should also be taken into account when repairing.

Dimensions of entrance doors

Dimensions entrance doors you need to shoot correctly, first you need to figure out what elements it consists of:

  • Canvas. This is a solid or multi-part element that blocks the doorway. It is equipped with special fittings for ease of opening and installation.
  • Box A frame in which the canvas is enclosed and fixed to it. It serves as a transmission link between the box and the wall opening. , consists of three crossbars and a threshold, sometimes the latter is not used.
  • Platbands. They serve as decorative elements for the opening, making appearance installed doors completed.
  • Extras. They are installed between the platbands and the box, they compensate for the gap that can occur between the wall and the thickness of the box.

Before you buy an entrance, you need not only to measure the dimensions of the opening, but also to establish, using calculations, the exact dimensions of the purchased product.

Taking correct measurements

You need to measure width, depth and height. Check their compliance with the standard sizes adopted by GOST.

Width

It is necessary to establish the distance of the narrowest part of the doorway, measuring it from one wall to the second. Usually the wall tapers where the door is located, but if it is the same throughout the opening, then the size can be measured anywhere.

If not already dismantled old door, but you need to order a new one, then the distance is measured from the middle of the trim.

Opening height

To measure the height of the opening, you need to find the lowest point of the opening and from it measure the distance to its upper part. In this case, measurements should be taken at the place of narrowing; if this is not observed, then measurements can be taken along the entire perimeter of the opening.

If you have an old copy, simply measure its canvas, or the distance from the middle part of the upper casing to the floor.

The standard door height is 200 cm, but sometimes a larger size is allowed. Some manufacturers can produce products with sizes ranging from 2.1 to 2.3 m.

After installing the door leaf, you may need.

Opening depth

Its measurement must be carried out at three points located above, below and in the middle. This is necessary to set the widest point.

Read also about how to install interior doors yourself.

If there is still an old door in the opening, then it is necessary to measure the size of the frame and the distance at which the wall protrudes from it. Table:

Standard sizes are made within 60, 70 and 80 mm.

Analogue of opening calculation

When choosing a box, you need to take into account the gaps: top side and its width should exceed the resulting size by 3 mm, its lower part is increased by 10 mm.

When installing the box, you should take into account the gaps around the perimeter of the box between it and the wall; they are 1-1.5 mm, therefore the entrance opening is assumed to be 2 mm larger.

The height of the door is determined based on the fact that its standard size is 200 cm, to which you need to add the size of the top beam of the frame, which is 25 mm and the gaps: top - 3 mm, and bottom - 10 mm.

For balcony openings depend on the type of building. For small apartments its width is 68 cm. You can make the width smaller, but it must be at least 61 cm, otherwise it will be difficult to get onto the balcony.

Standard sizes of interior door frames

Their elements are made of pine boards or timber, and on top it is decorated with veneer of trees of more valuable species.

Box thickness

IN standard apartments built in Soviet times, this size is 7.5 mm, so a box with a size of 10.8 cm is selected for them. If the thickness of the interior partitions is 10 cm, then you need to install a box of 12 cm. These are standard sizes that are accepted by domestic GOSTs. In interior doors from foreign manufacturers, the door thickness range is wider and ranges from 8 to 20.5 cm.

If the thickness of the wall turns out to be greater than the selected frame, then it can be increased by using additional elements or using a compensatory frame, which can be telescopic, expansion or act as a transformer.

To increase the strength of the door structure, it is recommended to use.

When taking measurements of interior doors, the thickness of the opening may be different, this is caused by the nature of the walls; they can be load-bearing or installed as partitions.

Height

It is regulated and can range from 190 to 200 cm. These dimensions will satisfy the opening dimensions ranging from 194 to 203 cm or 204-211 cm.

When calculating the height of the future door, you need to take into account the threshold. It can be from 1 to 2 cm, and in the end it can be 208 cm, and without it 206 cm. This is the ideal height that meets the standard dimensions of many door frames.

Door structure width

It is measured from one to the second wall. Between this distance the canvas and two side elements of the box should fit.

What are entrance locks? metal door read .

The standard width is 800 mm. Almost all manufacturers adhere to this dimension.

If necessary, insert glass into an interior door, he will tell you.

Dimensions of extensions

Extras can be no less important than the box itself. Thanks to them, you can eliminate the hollow section of the doorway.

They come in two types:

  1. Planks with a protective edge. They are fixed in the opening with nails or an adhesive base. Their width can be changed by sawing, and their height is 2 meters.
  2. Telescopic extensions. Suitable for solving any lack of width. Their installation is carried out using a special lock, which is a “tenon and groove”. The groove is made in a box, and the tenon is on the extension. Their width is adjustable from the side of the platband.

The feasibility of using extensions can be determined after measuring the width of the doorway.

Dimensions of double doors

Comfortable dimensions for use are door widths of 120-180 cm. If the opening does not allow them to be accommodated, then the door leaves will be different in width, one smaller leaf is fixed in its place, and the second with larger dimensions is used as regular door. The latter has standard dimensions, and its smaller counterpart has dimensions equal to 1/3 of it.

The height of such doors can be from 2 to 2.5 m. Depth double doors according to the standard it is from 7.5 to 11 cm.

Set options doorways It’s not difficult if you know in what places they need to be measured. The obtained parameters are adjusted taking into account all gaps. If a mistake is made when installing doors in the house, it can be corrected by filing the frame or , the front door is not so simple . If there is a large gap between them and the wall, it may be necessary to install a counter box.

The basis of a door set of interior doors is the door frame. What it is, what it consists of and how it is installed largely determines operational properties doors.

What is a door frame?

Door frame - part of the door block, which is attached to the doorway, and already to the frame door hinges the door leaf is attached. This door element is called a frame because with the threshold it forms a rectangle into which the door leaf is inserted. Used to install swing doors.

Door frame in a doorway.

A standard door frame for a single-leaf swing interior door without a threshold consists of two and a half sticks (one stick on the right, one stick on the left and at the top half a stick - a crossbar). Standard stick door frame has dimensions: 70 mm - width, 30 mm - thickness and 2100 mm - height. Each manufacturer's sizes may vary slightly.

When measuring doorways to order doors of the required width, it is important to know the exact dimensions of the frame in order to determine the width of the door block along with the frame and thereby know whether the door block will fit into the opening and, if so, how much space will remain on the sides. In addition, the width of the door frame determines whether additional additions will be required or not.

Telescopic and simple door frame

According to the method of attaching the platbands to the door frame, they distinguish a simple box and telescopic. The telescopic door frame has a slot for inserting a telescopic platband into it. Simple platbands are attached to a simple door frame using special nails without a head or glue.

What material is the door frame made of?

The coating of the door frame is almost always the same as the coating of the door leaf (veneer, laminate, eco-veneer, PVC), but the base can be of two types: homogeneous and combined. A homogeneous box is a box consisting of one material, usually solid pine or MDF.

In our online store of doors, solid wood frames are supplied with doors from the "Ocean" factory and economy class doors for painting "Canada". MDF frames - almost all laminated doors.

The combined material of the box necessarily includes MDF and some other material, for example, thick plywood, chipboard, solid wood, etc. This method of making the box gives it rigidity, and also ensures the box's resistance to deformation from the effects of temperature and moisture.

Door frame seal

This is a soft element in the form of an overlay, which is attached along the entire perimeter of the door frame - in the place where the door leaf adjoins the frame. The seal provides sound insulation, thermal insulation, and prevents the penetration of odors. In addition, the door closes softly and silently and does not rattle against the frame.

Embedded fittings

The door frame is mainly sold in the form of sticks (blanks), which are sawn by a craftsman at the place where the doors are installed. right size and at the desired angle, they cut the hinges and the strike plate for the latch into the box.

But doors with factory-installed fittings are also sold. The hinges and striker are already cut into the box, and the box itself is sawn to the desired angle and size. Such doors with embedded fittings include almost all doors with a rebate (otherwise they are called “Finnish doors”). Our online store of rebated doors features doors from the manufacturers "Krasnoderevshchik" and "Mario Riolli".

Threshold for interior door

This is part of the door frame (lower crossbar) which serves to tightly close the door, which provides significant sound and heat insulation. In a residential area, provision of these conditions is required mainly only for the bathroom. That is why it is customary to install thresholds only on doors to the bathroom and toilet.

Although modern tendencies renovations show that many do not install thresholds in the bathroom, preferring simplicity and convenience. As an alternative, you can use an automatic threshold, which is built into the door leaf and lowers when the doors are closed.

Door frame installation

The door frame is installed so that the gap between door leaf and the box on top and on the sides was uniform and amounted to no more than 3 mm, and at the bottom between the canvas and the floor there was 8-10 mm, depending on the evenness of the floor. The door should not close on its own when in the open position.

The frame can be attached to the doorway in three ways:

First way- the box is fastened with dowels in three places - in the places where the hinges are attached and under the striker plate. This is a more aesthetic method of fastening, when all fastening points are hidden under the fittings.

Second way- the box is fastened with dowels in six places, three on each side. The box is drilled right through from the front side, and after installation, the holes are closed with plugs, similar to how this is done when assembling cabinet furniture. This method of fastening is more reliable and durable.

Third way fastening the door frame - the frame is attached using iron plates (canopies). The plates are attached to the inside of the frame in six or more places, and then these iron plates are attached to the doorway. This method of fastening combines the advantages of the first and second methods, but is more labor-intensive and more expensive in installation costs.

If the box comes with accessories, it is better to install them together with the box. The box for the extensions must have a groove (recess) into which the extensions are inserted. Otherwise, when installing the extensions, the master will have to prepare the box for the extension, which will cost additional money.

A door frame (door frame) is a functional part of a door block, mounted in an interior opening, after which the door itself is attached to its hinges. The name "box" is given component received because, together with the threshold, it forms an even rectangle. Door frames are used to install swing-type structures. Selection of door frame and interior door The Dverka interior door hypermarket will help.

The functional purpose of door frames is to support the weight of the door, and therefore their selection and installation should be given close attention: only when correct selection Lutki door structure will be strong and durable.

What does a door frame look like?

Typical door frame for installation of single-leaf internal doors swing type will have the following design solution: frame, platband, threshold and seal. The frame of the frame is shaped like the letter “U”, which is formed by a pair of side posts and a cross member at the top of the box.

On the side posts of the structure there is a longitudinal cavity into which the door leaf will fit. This cavity is called the narthex. The frame casing is made of planks with ends located at an angle of 45 degrees. It is needed to tightly close the gap between the loot and the wall.

There may not be a seal in the cavity, but the presence of this element is desirable, as it will significantly increase the sound insulation in the room.

The set includes gutters for interior door designs a threshold may also be included.

Modern door frames for interior designs can be made from different materials: MDF, natural wood, laminated wood. Each type has its pros and cons, which are worth understanding in more detail:

  • MDF loots are the most budget-friendly option available. The design looks quite presentable and you can choose the product to match any door leaf. But there are also significant disadvantages: MDF boxes can be used exclusively for lightweight doors, the product is not strong and durable, increased sensitivity to moisture, due to which MDF boxes are not recommended for installation in kitchen and bathroom doorways;

When installing MDF frames, do not putty the gaps between the frame and the door opening. The material will quickly absorb moisture and the door may not open.

  • The wooden frame is highly durable and suitable for any type of structure made from a wide variety of materials, we can easily adjust it to fit the dimensions, if an error was made in them, if there is a need to change the canvas, the color of the lace will be easy to adjust to new door by simply sanding it and painting it. But when choosing a wooden box, it is worth taking into account the obvious disadvantages of the product: installing the frame will not be easy and it will have to be additionally coated with a special moisture-proof mixture.

The modern and most expensive option is a door frame made of laminated wood. The design will have solid durability and strength, provides excellent noise insulation in the room, and can withstand any weight of fabric. Laminated boxes have few disadvantages: high price, complex installation, sensitivity laminated coating to mechanical damage.

But a high-quality door frame is chosen not only by its material, but also by its design. What designs are there for modern door hatches - we will look at them in detail below.

Types of door frames

According to their structural design, the beams are graded into the following types: covering, end and corner frames. Each type has optimal options consumption.

For example, an end beam will be most convenient for installation when it is placed in an opening with thin internal partitions. However, you should be aware that the end structure needs additional reinforcement, since constant opening and closing of the door can reduce the reliability of the structure as a whole. For this reason, it is recommended to install end boxes in a metal frame, which will certainly affect the dimensions of the opening.

Corner type traps are considered universal. They fit into any openings, between any rooms. Corner door frames are equipped with a platband, neatly connected to the frame profile.

The corner door will have to be additionally sealed, since without a seal there will be a significant gap between the frame and the door leaf, the presence of which is fraught with drafts in the room and increased noise levels.

The design of wrap-around boxes combines a frame and an extension, which also has a casing that matches the color of the frame material. The option is convenient in that you do not have to carry out work to modify the opening for the installation of the trap.

Having decided on the type of box, you should not lose sight of this important criterion like the sizes. The most important indicator will be the width. The dimensions of the opening will depend on the width of the product frame, and this indicator may interfere with the installation of the box - the loot may simply not fit into the existing opening. It is not always possible to destroy the opening in order to install the frame, since the wall can be load-bearing. To find out for sure, you should contact the BTI and get a plan of the living space. Height and thickness are not critical criteria.

At self-construction and making openings, the dimensions of the box will also have to be calculated independently. It is necessary to measure the dimensions of the canvas, the trays, resolve the issue of the presence or absence of a threshold, and determine the width of the casing. The width of the box is calculated using the following formula: you need to add double the thickness to the width of the canvas and also add to these indicators the value of the installation gap divided by two. The height of the box is calculated as follows: the value of the height of the canvas is added to the thickness of the box and either the height of the threshold or the size of the installation gap is added to the resulting figure.

Features of fastening during installation

Fastening the door frame can be done in different ways:

Hidden installation

The rigidity of the frame in this fastening method is ensured by the use of anchors and screws. All fasteners are carefully hidden in the hinges. Fixation points at hidden installation there are three: in the hinges, in the wall, under the decorative plate of the lock. After installing the box, spacers are installed and all gaps are filled with foam. The fastener turns out to be rigid and durable, but is quite difficult to carry out and requires the most accurate calculations, otherwise the box will have to be dismantled, since it will no longer be possible to adjust its position after installation.

Mounting on hangers

The essence of the method is to screw the plates to the frame, after which it is placed in the opening and adjusted for level. If everything is correct, the plates are fixed. The method is reliable, but applicable when it has not yet been completed fine finishing premises, since the places where the plates are fixed have to be masked with plaster.

Bolt-on fasteners

The standard option, but at the same time one of the most reliable and less troublesome. IN the right points holes are made for the bolts in the structure, then the box is placed in the opening, additional holes are drilled in the concrete and the tray is secured. The fasteners are closed with decorative plugs. This method is reliable and allows you to use the door almost immediately.

The easiest way to fasten the box in the opening is with foam. However, not all types of boxes can be secured with foam alone, so this method installation is used in practice extremely rarely.

If the dimensions of the opening and the dimensions of the tray itself have been determined correctly, there should be no problems with the assembly and installation of the structure. If the structure is purchased as a complete set, then the entire installation process will consist only of installing the assembled elements into the opening and fixing them. The fastening on our own will take place in several stages:

  1. The structure needs to be assembled, all dimensions rechecked and possible inaccuracies eliminated.
  1. Holes for fastenings are made in the sections of the tray adjacent to the wall surfaces.
  1. The gap between the door leaf and the frame is checked.
  1. The perpendicularity of the installation of the box is checked using a plumb line.

It is necessary to check the perpendicularity, since in its absence the door can open on its own.

The door frame should be selected with the same care as the interior doors themselves. The frame must necessarily support the weight of the door, so it is impossible to buy doors made of natural solid wood and a frame made of MDF. A heavy canvas will lead to deformation of the frame, and problems will begin with the normal opening and closing of doors.

It is imperative to take all dimensions correctly: the slightest error in dimensions may make it impossible to install the frame in the opening or cause poor quality work of the structure, which will ultimately lead to its damage and breakage.

For ready-made structures, there is a table with dimensions, using which you can correctly select a box for the dimensions of the doorway.

We hope that after studying this article-instructions, you received answers to the questions - what is a door frame, what types of structures exist, how to choose your own door frame for interior doors.

The strength of the entire structure, as well as the duration of its operation, depends on the quality of the boat. Usually the door frame and door leaf are made from the same material. The main load of the opening sash falls on the frame, and you cannot save on purchasing a cheap window, otherwise the design will be short-lived.

The frame is part of the door block. It is used in models of the type, the sash is suspended from hinges. Install the entrance or interior door frame into the opening on the wall. Most popular material for making boxes is considered array. Cheaper option - MDF and other combinations of wood waste. Lutki may have threaded grooves on the end intended for fixing and.

The hidden door frame is hidden when installed in the wall; it is made of aluminum. Even the hinges remain invisible.

Device door frame involves the use of three or four elements. U-shaped boats without a threshold consist of two posts connected at the top by a crossbar. In a full-fledged boat, the fourth element is the threshold. Such frames are required when installing a door block in a bathroom or at the entrance to a room.

Boxes are usually sold as a set with and. Additional items help to refine doorway. Device Ludki differ according to the following characteristics:

  • with or without extras;
  • With telescopic platbands or planks without grooves;
  • with or without a seal;
  • with overhead or mortise fittings.

A box with telescopic handles and also equipped with a seal is considered convenient to install and use.

Box sizes

The consumer is offered different sizes door frames, which is determined by the location of their installation. Dimensions are maintained according to the standard. From manufacturers from different countries it is different. The most common standard size The door frame of interior doors from a domestic manufacturer coincides with products from Finland, Italy and a number of other European countries.

By standard size is:

  • sash width – 55, 60, 70, 80 and 90 cm;
  • sash height – 190, 200 and 210 cm;
  • box thickness – from 2 to 7.5 cm.

This thickness of the interior door frame was determined for good reason. The size range is determined by different parameters walls

Considered optimal depth door frame of an interior door - 7.5 cm. The frame is suitable for walls made of plasterboard or brick. For thick partitions made of other materials, boxes 10 cm wide are produced. There are imported boxes with a depth of up to 20.5 cm.
