Construction site fencing. Temporary fencing for construction site Temporary mesh fencing for construction site

There is nothing more permanent than temporary... Many of us have become convinced of the truth of this statement. Housing rented for a period of time often becomes permanent. “Random” work lasts for years. A passing hobby develops into a serious occupation.

A thorough person does any work efficiently and its results last a long time. A temporary fence on a site should be treated as a serious structure protecting the territory from uninvited guests.

How to build it inexpensively and reliably, what materials can be used for this, we will talk in this article.

A great variety of prefabricated fence structures have been created. We are primarily interested in those of them that meet the criterion of temporary:

  • Low cost combined with reliability;
  • Minimum excavation work;
  • Lack of capital foundation;
  • Quick installation and disassembly;
  • Possibility of reuse of fencing material.

“Exotica” in the form of fences from plastic bottles There is no point in considering palisades made of logs and wattle fences made of branches for a temporary fence at a construction site. The main qualities of this design are functionality and durability.

They have fences made of the following materials:

  • board (slab);
  • slate;
  • chain-link mesh (welded mesh);
  • corrugated sheeting

Temporary fencing made of boards

Once upon a time, such fences were installed at all construction sites. The cheapness of lumber and ease of construction guaranteed plank fences a long historical existence. Today, on large construction sites, wood has been replaced by steel mesh and reinforced concrete slabs. They are more durable than planks and can be used repeatedly to protect an area.

Boards, beams and posts - three parts of the structure wooden fence

In private construction, boards are still used for the construction of collapsible fences. Her appearance of great importance does not have. The main requirement is strength. Therefore, thrifty owners prefer to make temporary fences from cheap slabs, and edged board used for more critical structures.

An unprepossessing-looking slab fence does its job perfectly

Installing a fence made of boards takes longer compared to structures made of mesh and corrugated sheets. What slows down the work most of all is the process of nailing pickets, which no one has yet been able to speed up. Each plank has to be given attention, aligned along the cord and nailed.

Despite the difference in materials, the main stages of constructing temporary fencing are similar:

  • Route markings;
  • Installation of columns;
  • Installation of purlins;
  • Fastening the enclosing material.

Planning the construction wooden fence, you need to decide in advance on the method of installing the pillars by choosing:

  • Digging holes or drilling wells;
  • Using support legs with jibs.

The first option is more reliable, but more labor-intensive. To protect a large area, you will have to make hundreds of holes for racks. Supporting “legs” connected to the posts using jibs are easier to install and, if necessary, allow you to change the length and configuration of the fence. The only threat to such a structure is hurricane winds, which can knock down some of the sections.

Boards and slabs are nailed in two ways: onto beams (vertically) or directly onto posts (horizontally). In the second case, the calculated span length of each section should not exceed the length of the strips used.

Upon completion of construction, this material can only be used for kindling.

Slate fencing

There is no point in buying new material for such a design. Holes punched in corrugated sheets make them unsuitable for roofing use. Possible variant reuse slate - formwork for a pool or foundation.

Most often they are placed by those who, after disassembling old roof There is a lot of “used” material left. In addition, in advertisements you can find many offers for the sale of slate at a symbolic price.

Mount corrugated sheets can be on wooden or steel purlins and posts. They are strong and rigid enough to withstand strong wind loads. But the height of such a fence does not always suit the owners. Whatever one may say, you can’t raise it higher than two meters.

Fences made of chain-link and welded mesh

Leaders of construction sympathies. Such structures are quickly assembled and disassembled, protecting the territory well from attempts to penetrate. The only drawback is the visibility of the site. Despite its apparent flimsiness, it is not easy to overcome a steel mesh fence. Without solid support under your feet, it is impossible to overcome a two-meter mesh wall.

Chain-link mesh can be placed on wooden and steel posts, using sections from a corner or passing wire (reinforcement) through its upper and lower edges, fixed to the posts.

In addition to labor-intensive digging of posts into the ground, the posts of such a fence (and any other temporary fencing) can be made from screw piles, thereby providing the most stable base possible.

Screw piles - The best decision for steel mesh fences

The relative high cost of the option under consideration is justified by the high speed of installation and the possibility of disassembling the structure without loss of material.

The main disadvantage of chain-link mesh - flexibility, requiring additional support along the upper and lower edges - was eliminated with the advent of 3D fence. This structure consists of inventory metal racks with fastenings for sections. Welded mesh is made from strong bent wire, light and rigid.

If the construction site area has a hard surface, then the fence posts are not dug into the ground or concreted. In this case, ready-made sections are used. They are fixed to support plates, which in turn are attached to asphalt or concrete, or installed in special concrete support blocks.

The preparation procedure is simple. A cross-shaped support made of reinforcement is welded to the bottom of the steel profile-rack and placed in the tire. After this, the tire is filled with concrete. After the mixture has hardened, a chain-link mesh is attached to the homemade supports using wire and clamps.

It should be noted that the “know-how” in question is only suitable for mesh fences. When using boards, slate or corrugated sheets, a large “windage” is formed. At strong wind the weight and supporting area of the concrete tire may be insufficient, which will lead to the structure tipping over.

Temporary fence made of corrugated sheets

It is often used on construction sites because it has important advantages:

  • opaque;
  • easy to install and disassemble;
  • weather resistant;
  • allows repeated use;
  • You can choose any height.

Both wooden and steel purlins are suitable for fastening corrugated sheets. The locking principle of connecting sheets facilitates installation. The installation of posts, like other types of temporary fences, is carried out in holes or attached to ground supports.

Option for using ground support posts

In conclusion, we will say that regardless of the type of fencing chosen, you need to take a responsible approach to its installation. Before starting work, you should draw a diagram of the placement of the racks so that the distance between them is no more than 2.5 meters.

To carry the fence route out to the site, use a cord and tape measure. Pegs are driven into the ground at the corners of the future fence, strictly maintaining the design dimensions of the spans. After this, a cord is attached to them, marking the direction, and intermediate stakes are driven into the ground.

Manual digging of holes has to be done when there are a lot of large stones or plant roots in the ground. If the soil is soft and clean, it is better to use a drill. The depth of the pits of 50-60 cm will be quite sufficient for installing racks in heavy clay soil. In sandy it will have to be increased to 80 cm.

Evenly aligned and well secured in racks - a guarantee quick installation and the reliability of the fence. Therefore, pay maximum attention to this work.

All of the above also applies to the fence, the posts of which are not buried in the ground, but placed on surface supports.

Any construction, especially in urban areas, poses a direct threat to the safety of citizens. This is due to the fact that the facilities use large equipment and materials that can fall. Therefore, fencing of the construction site must be installed for the entire period of work. Requirements for such structures are defined in standards and regulations. Let us consider these structures in more detail below.

General rules

The organization of the construction site and its individual sections must ensure safe working conditions and proper sanitation and hygiene, eliminate and prevent possible hazards. When carrying out activities at the site, the customer’s responsibilities include providing the contractor with the scope of work and carrying out occupational safety measures. The latter, in particular, includes the construction of a construction site fencing.

Security

In the process of performing work related to the organization of a construction site under reconstruction conditions, it is necessary to perform the following generally accepted measures:

  1. Defining boundaries hazardous areas.
  2. Fencing the construction site and its individual sections.
  3. Providing the necessary lighting, driveways, passages. For its organization, separate electrical wiring is allocated. It should not be connected to the electrical network of the facility being reconstructed.
  4. Organization of passages for installation equipment and transport, passages for workers, storage areas for materials and structures.
  5. Equipping facilities with primary extinguishing agents.
  6. compliance with sanitary and hygienic standards in the manner prescribed for the enterprise.
  7. Installation

GOST 23407.78: inventory fencing for construction sites

To prevent unauthorized access by outsiders, protective structures must be installed around the facility. Inventory fencing of construction sites adjacent to areas of mass passage of citizens must be equipped with protective corridors and canopies. At the reconstructed facilities, structures are used to ensure the safety of work and the continuity of the enterprise. In particular, the following are being built:

  1. Temporary partitions and walls. They provide separation of workplaces and areas for installation activities.
  2. Protective floorings. They are used to prevent materials and objects from falling in areas where production is carried out.
  3. Coatings for protection from cold and precipitation.
  4. Temporary fencing of a construction site, warning about the boundaries of territories and areas where construction and installation works are being carried out.
  5. Structures that prevent workers from falling from heights.
  6. Other fences, light shelters, screens. They are used to provide protection against glare during electric welding work, thermal effects, protection of glass from destruction during explosive events, and to prevent contamination of equipment in the workshops of the enterprise.

The production of construction site fencing is carried out for specific conditions. They must be designed for reusable use. Any temporary fencing of a construction site must be convenient for transportation, reliable, durable, effective both during the day and at night.

Additional rules

The exits and entrances of the operated structure must be arranged outside the boundaries of the hazardous zones. A vehicle movement pattern is established at the entrance to the construction site. The sides of driveways and roads are well equipped visible signs regulating the order of movement. Builders must be provided with sanitary facilities in accordance with current standards. At facilities classified as explosion and fire hazards, it is allowed to carry out work only with the permission of the responsible person appointed by the customer, in agreement with the gas rescue and fire services. During installation activities in gas-polluted rooms, as well as in areas located below floor/ground level, air analysis is carried out daily before the start of the shift.

Storage of materials and structures

It must be carried out in accordance with the provisions contained in technical documents and GOST. Construction site fencing is provided in such a way that when loading/unloading materials and structures using special equipment complete safety of workers was ensured. Storage locations are determined and agreed upon with the management of the enterprise. Individual designs and the stacks are located so that they do not block access to inspection units of existing communications. Their placement on roads, crane and railway tracks. When storing on bulk soils, measures are taken to eliminate the possibility of structural collapse.

Loading, unloading and transportation

When performing these works, it is necessary to comply with the relevant provisions of SNiP, state standards and DNAOP. When loading, unloading and transporting using cars or trains, you must comply with traffic rules and standards defined in the relevant documents. The speed of transport through the territory of the reconstructed facility in straight and fairly clearly visible areas cannot be higher than 10 km/h. At exits, including from a side passage to the main thoroughfare or a road with intense traffic, entrances, inside workshops, at turns, intersections, when moving in reverse, in dense fog it should not exceed 5 km/h. When transporting structures in and with limited passage dimensions, red flags are attached to parts protruding beyond the dimensions of the vehicle, and when visibility is less than 20 m, and in dark time- reflective devices.

Construction site fencing

SNiP is one of the key documents establishing rules for ensuring safety at facilities. The standards were adopted back in Soviet times. Taking into account the development of technology, they were adapted to modern conditions. In 1979, GOST “Inventory fencing for construction sites” was approved and put into effect. In accordance with these documents, it is not allowed to carry out construction and installation work on the facility or its part without installing special protective structures.

Key Precepts

The construction site fencing must comply with state-approved standards. The design must include wickets or gates to ensure free movement of workers and vehicles. The construction site fencing must be collapsible with parts, fasteners and other elements of the same sample. The height of the racks, structures, angle of inclination of the canopies, etc. must comply with the established parameters. The panels are made in the shape of a rectangle. Their length, as well as the gaps between the posts, are determined according to the standards: from 1.2 to 2 m and no more than 6 m, respectively. Between the parts it is necessary to maintain a degree of sparseness of 80-100 mm. The exception is construction sites. There should be no gaps in the pavement decking exceeding 5 mm. The protective visors must be turned in the desired direction. At the same time, they must cover people moving under them with a margin.

More than 1.2 m must be allocated for the passage of citizens on the sidewalk. The railing must be attached to the canopy or to the upper border of the fence. In addition, protective strips are provided at a height of 50 cm and 1.1 m from the roadway. The construction site fence must be designed so that it can be repaired and removed while maintaining adequate strength. Responsible persons are obliged to take measures to prevent rotting and the spread of rust throughout the elements. The presence of a slope on the ground should not threaten the protective fence. The structure must be coated with an appropriate coloring composition. There should be no potentially traumatic elements (hooks, corners, etc.) on it.

The construction site fencing is made of reliable materials that ensure its stability. The structure must withstand falling objects a certain weight, but not less than 200 kg/cm 2, as well as the strength of the gust of wind and the weight of the snow. The materials from which the fence is made must have quality certificates and meet established requirements. The service life of the structure is at least 10 years. For paving panels, this period must be at least 5 years.

Classification of structures

Fencing for construction sites is divided into types depending on their intended purpose. There are the following types:

  1. Signals that unambiguously and clearly indicate that construction and installation works are being carried out on the territory.
  2. Protective, ensuring the safety of people from injury.
  3. Security, preventing unauthorized entry of strangers into the facility.

Depending on their characteristics, fencing is divided into the following types:

  1. Rack-mounted.
  2. Panel. They, in turn, are divided into sparse (grid, for example) and continuous.
  3. Combined.

Goals

The main task performed by security structures is to prevent people from entering the facility. In this regard, in most cases they are not much different from simple fences installed around industrial facilities or residential buildings. Protective structures are used to prevent injury to the public. In this regard, their most common type is mesh (plastic). For fencing construction sites, it is considered the most the best option. It can “catch” everything that falls from the scaffolding: debris, leftover materials, tools and even workers. Signal barriers provide visual identification of a construction site, alerting citizens to danger. A special tape is often used for this. It is pulled between pins fixed in the ground.

Specifics

If the fence is intended for security or protection, then it should only be continuous. In some cases it is necessary to add additional elements. They can be canopies, struts, sidewalks with railings, etc. Depending on the availability and quantity of additional parts, the cost of the structures is determined. The price is also affected by the material from which they are made. Typically, a fence includes 3 elements: frame, supports and filling.

Material options

As mentioned above, the construction site fencing must be stable, reliable, durable, easy to assemble, disassemble and transport. Traditional materials for the manufacture of such structures are wood and metal. Thanks to modern technologies their range has increased significantly. Nowadays, plastic is often used for fencing. The advantage of such designs is as follows:

  1. Current regulations allow their installation.
  2. The affordable cost of the material makes such fencing attractive.
  3. Installation does not require special equipment or additional workers.
  4. There is no need to paint the structure.
  5. Installation plastic fencing takes minimal amount time.
  6. The structures are durable, light and strong.

However, such fences also have a rather serious drawback - they are unsuitable for use at sites where large-scale construction is taking place. The situation is similar with chain-link structures. The undoubted advantages of the mesh - its ease of installation and low cost - are suppressed by state standards. Recently, fences made of corrugated sheets have been installed quite often. The structures are easy to install and are relatively inexpensive. In addition, such fences are easy to maintain.

Mobile structures

Temporary fencing of this type appeared relatively recently. They, like other structures, provide protection for citizens from accidents, security of the facility, and prevent unauthorized entry of strangers. Metal mobile elements are also used to delimit parking spaces and mark the perimeter of a site. Installation does not require special equipment or special knowledge. Installation of elements is carried out in short term. Panel sections are equipped with special fastenings. They eliminate unwanted or accidental dismantling.

Conclusion

The construction site acts as a potentially dangerous object. There is always the possibility of an accident here. In this regard, those responsible for the work are obliged to take all necessary measures to ensure safety both inside and outside the facility. Failure to comply with established regulations can end sadly not only for citizens, including workers, but also for managers responsible for construction. Currently exists big choice materials and structures to ensure work safety, therefore responsible persons can easily select the appropriate protection for the object.

A construction site is a high-risk place, since large equipment is working there and heavy, sharp materials are used, which can pose a danger to human health. Therefore, the area of construction and repair of the structure must be surrounded by a fence. According to the law, the presenceconstruction fencingtemporary type is necessary at all facilities before they are put into operation.

What the temporary fencing of a construction site should be like, its functionality is regulated by two regulatory documents:

  • “Organization of construction production” - norms and rules of 1985 (SNiP 0.01.01-85);
  • GOST 23407-78 from 1979

According toSNiP 3.01.01-85, the construction site must be surrounded by a protective fence in order to comply with safety regulations.GOST23407-78 regulates the use of temporary barriers. Main provisions of the document:

  1. Construction of the structure cannot begin without installing temporary fencing of the construction site.
  2. The protective structure must be assembled/disassembled and made in the same style.
  3. The fence should include wickets and gates for the passage of people working at the site and transport;
  4. The fence must be reliable and resistant to stress ( precipitation, gusts of wind, mechanical damage), withstand a weight of 200 kg/cm2.
  5. The fence must be constructed from rectangular panels 1.2-2 m long and 1.2 m high.
  6. Materials for constructing a fence must have a quality certificate and a service life of at least 10 years.
  7. WITH outside fences, a sidewalk with a width of at least 1.2 m should be installed so that passers-by can move freely along it. It must be equipped with a protective canopy and railings. The canopy is constructed at an angle of 20° so that it completely covers the sidewalk and protects people passing there from precipitation and rainwater runoff .

Important: according to regulationsrequirements, the design should not have sharp, traumatic parts.

Types of construction site fencing

According to their purpose, fences around sites where construction is taking place are:

  • signal - visually indicate the boundaries of the zone increased danger. They are presented special tape, secured between pins driven into the ground;
  • protective - help avoid possible injuries. These include a façade mesh that catches everything that falls from scaffolding;
  • security - the purpose of installation of which is to prevent unauthorized persons from entering the construction site. They are fences constructed from various materials.

Depending on the complexity of construction, construction site fencing can be:

  • standard - simple designs in the form of a wall;
  • with additional details - fences equipped with canopies, sidewalks, struts, railings.

Advice: if the construction site is designed for a short time, the best option would be to install a standard barrier, which will be inexpensive.

Structurally, building fences are distinguished:

  • rack-mount - represents racks fixed in the slabs of the roadway;
  • panel - fences surrounding a construction site with a solid or sparse (mesh) wall;
  • combined - are a combination of the two previous varieties.

Materials used for the manufacture of protective fences

Temporary fencing for a construction site consists of:

  • supports;
  • frame;
  • filling.

They can be made from:

  • plastic;
  • metal;
  • wood;
  • slate.

Note: the material for constructing the protective fence must be High Quality and comply with established standards.

Plastic

Thanks to modern technologies, the list of building materials has expanded. It included plastic structures, from which you can also build a temporary fence for construction.

Plastic fencing can be presented in the form of a polymer mesh stretched between poles. Thanks to its bright colors, it is noticeable on the ground, which contributes to its signaling function.

Tip: such a fence will be strengthened by steel wire threaded along its edges.

A popular temporary fencing is the design of their plastic blocks, the upper edges of which are secured polycarbonate sheets. This fence consists of stacked sections, so its length can be changed.

Plastic fencing has the following advantages:

  • resistance to influence of factors environment. Plastic tolerates temperature changes well, it is not afraid of corrosion and high humidity;
  • ease of installation. The material is lightweight, so products made from it can be carried and installed by one person;
  • ease of care. Plastic is given a certain color in the factory - products made from it do not require additional painting and are easy to wash;
  • at an affordable price. Artificial material is cheaper natural wood or metal.

Note: according to current regulations, plastic fencing can be used. However, it cannot be used for large-scale construction that requires the construction of continuous security-type fences.

Tree

Wood attracts with its naturalness and affordable cost, but construction fencing is built from it only if the material is planned to be used in the future.

Installation of a wooden fence is carried out quickly, but the structure must be further processed antiseptics, which will provide its protection from fire and rotting. The cost of such fencing depends on the type of raw materials and the prices of impregnating compositions.

Metal

The simplest and most affordable type of temporary construction metal fence- Rabitz. It is easy to install, portable, and can be used repeatedly. The mesh is installed on a frame made of corrugated pipes and equal-flange angles. But this material, like plastic, is not used in large-scale construction.

A more popular option is inventory construction fencing. They are sections of profiled mesh that allow you to quickly build a temporary fence of any shape. The supports of these structures can be metal or concrete, which allows you to create enclosing structures of varying stability.

The most expensive option for metal fencing for construction sites is the use of corrugated sheets. These are durable, but thin steel sheets with a protective polymer coating.

A fence made of corrugated sheets consists of supports and a frame sheathed metal shields. It has high strength, durability, resistance to moisture, low maintenance, and easy to install.

Slate

A dozen years ago, temporary slate fences were common. But in modern conditions the material has lost its position in the construction market. It attracts with its affordable cost and easy installation, but is very fragile, prone to fungus formation, and has an unattractive appearance.

The choice of material for constructing a temporary fence is carried out based on specific situation. For large-scale construction, a reliable protective and security fence (for example, made of corrugated sheets) will be required. By doing minor works A plastic or mesh fence will suffice.

Note: if construction works will not last long, you can not spend money on buying a fence, but rent it.

The installation of temporary fencing allows you to secure construction, avoid injury to people and accidents. The construction of a protective fence must be approached with all responsibility, and act in accordance with established norms and rules, since neglecting them can have serious consequences.

According to the method of application, such structures are divided into two main categories:

  • Stationary
  • Lightweight (modular)

In the first case, serious preparation will be required related to the arrangement of the foundation; such work makes sense during capital construction, designed for more than one month or even a year. Actually, such fences themselves are, in fact, separate buildings. The profitability of their installation is not always achieved, which is why fencing of a different type has become more widespread.

Portable, usually modular ones can be found almost everywhere: during road repairs, reconstruction of buildings, installation of lighting masts, laying communications. Also, such products are widely used during large-scale events and sports competitions that attract large crowds of people. And one more application - as inexpensive fences, country houses or around places of temporary storage of materials.

There are several separate types of barrier structures:

  • Solid, from panels
  • Rack, lattice
  • Combined, combining both previous types

Continuous temporary construction site fencing, as such, usually has gaps between the panels. This is due to the need to avoid wind loads, because there is no foundation or very massive supports under them. Only small ones concrete blocks who move using compact equipment.

Construction fencing made of lattice, usually welded, is the most common visitor on city streets. They are very easy to deploy on the spot, can be transported by small vehicles, and if they fall, which sometimes happens, they do not cause injury to a person.

Sometimes a combination of both is required, for example, when one work site partially overlooks a pedestrian path.

According to the principle of operation they are divided into:

  • Signal
  • Protective

Accordingly, in the first case the color is brighter, more contrasting, visible from afar. However, the second type should also be noticeable. Lighting can be used as an addition.

Legal requirements:

The list looks like this:

  • Safety during operation for pedestrians and Vehicle Ease of installation due to well-calculated dimensions
  • Can be used in any climatic conditions
  • Attractive appearance and durability
  • Absence of any buried supports and foundations

The requirements are strictly regulated and specified in the relevant regulations, both federal and regional. Uniform standards have been developed for the capital, according to which our plant produces such products. They were approved by Decree of the Moscow Government No. 299-PP dated May 19, 2015. (as amended in 2018), there are 25 positions in the list:

Signal: 1 AP, 1 AN (1), 1 AN (2), 1 BP, 1 BN (1), 1 BN (2), 1 BN (3), 1 VP, 1 VN (1), 1 VN ( 2);

Defensive: 2 AP, 2 AN (1), 2 AN (2), 2 BN (1), 2 BN (2), 2 BP, 2 VP;

Security: 3 AP, 3 AN, 3 BP, 3 BN (1), 3 BN (2), 3 BN (3), 3 VP, 3 GP.

Production
