How to destroy a large wasp nest. How to remove a wasp nest under the roof

One of beneficial insects for garden and vegetable garden plants are wasps. After all, they feed on the larvae of pests of vegetable and fruit crops. Without wasps, it would be difficult to pollinate plants. But if a wasp family settles in a house, it is dangerous to human health. Insect bites can lead to allergies and dire consequences such as Quincke's edema and anaphylactic shock.

Wasps have been neighbors with humans for a long time. There are many varieties of insects. When these are isolated individuals, they do not cause concern. But family clans of wasps that grow during the summer become dangerous. Their nests, built under the roof or in the walls of the house, cannot be approached. Insects become aggressive towards humans as cold weather sets in. Next, consider how to get rid of wasps in a private home and what to do if they bite you.

It is known that wasps like to make their homes next to private houses and cottages. After all, they grow on the site fruit trees, flowers in flower beds. And wasps need nectar, the sweet juice of fruits, for nutrition. They find a nesting site in advance to survive the cold winter.

Social insects like to build nests most of all where they are difficult to see or find.

Only when you go up to the roof, you can see spherical houses that seem to be made of newsprint. They can hang in the corner of the attic or hide under slate. Wasps can even build their nest in the wall of a house. There are varieties that settle in the ground, in basements, under the floor.

Insects choose buildings where the owners rarely enter. Therefore, it is necessary to visit such places more often in order to detect pests in time. You can lure out stinging insects in order to discover their place of residence with a piece of meat or fish, which is placed on a table in the garden. All that remains is to observe where the swarm came from. It is better to get rid of a wasp nest in the spring, when there are up to 5-6 individuals in it. By autumn, the family grows, and then it will be more difficult to neutralize the stinging “ball”.

Don't think that wasps are harmless. When one insect bites, it is not scary. The affected area will swell slightly, turn red, and after 2-3 days the pain will go away, and skin will recover. But wasps can attack the whole family. And then this will lead to serious consequences.

In people with allergies, bites cause angioedema, which is fatal.

In addition, like all insects, wasps can carry pathogenic microorganisms on their legs. There have been cases of intestinal infections after wasp stings. Therefore, it is imperative to combat the infestation of insects in the house.

Anti-wasp drugs, their action and use

The chemical industry produces effective means, the action of which is aimed at repelling and destroying wasps.

Drug name Action Application
Raptor Affects gastrointestinal tract insects, paralyzing nervous system. The aerosol is sprayed into the nest. After the paralytic effect of the main substance on the wasps, the nest is removed and placed in a bag. All that remains is to burn the wasp's house.
Smelnet Odorless microcapsules kill insects. Place the product in hard-to-reach places at home. The drug is effective for 8-9 months.
Karbofos It is toxic to wasps. Prepare the solution according to the instructions. They lower the nest into a container with liquid, trying to drown it along with the inhabitants.
Get The pale pink suspension contains the toxic substance chlorpyrifos. It has a paralytic effect on the nervous system of wasps. Mix the powder with sweet juices or sugar, honey. Place the dish in an open place.
Commander The drug is based on imidacloprid, a substance toxic to wasps. It has high penetrating ability, destroying insects in nests and in the ground. Prepare the solution before starting treatment. The substance acts for a long time, for 2 weeks.

Choose a chemical depending on where it is located wasp's nest.

Wasp traps and baits

A more harmless and simpler way is to create insect traps. Knowing that stinging insects love sweets, you can fill plastic bottles halfway with compote or syrup diluted in water. Beer and kvass are also suitable. Once inside, the wasps will not be able to fly out of the bottle and die. This reduces the number of members of wasp families. You can mix poison into dessert. Then the wasps will die faster.

Special baits are also used. Pieces of fish or meat are moistened with an odorless insecticidal agent. Clouds of wasps flock to the treat and die. You can place strips of cardboard coated with a thick layer of glue next to the bait.

Traps and baits will help destroy the insects themselves, but not their homes.

The poisonous fly agaric mushroom is used to combat flies and wasps. A mixture of 3-4 mushroom caps and 100 grams of honey boiled in a liter of water is an excellent bait that leads to insect death.

They also use substances that repel insects from the house. By hanging pods of hot pepper in the attic, near the doors, you discourage wasps from flying into the house. They begin to look for other places to create a nest.

Summer residents have come up with many ways to get rid of stinging insects that have settled in their homes:

  • Water is often used. Immerse the insect nest in a container of water and place a weight on top to prevent it from floating up. You can use a strong jet of water to destroy insect homes in the ground.
  • Moisten a rag with gasoline or kerosene and plug the hole into the socket. Sometimes houses are set on fire by first dousing them with flammable substances. But this method cannot be used if there are flammable objects nearby.
  • Smoke can force wasps to leave your home. All that remains is to carefully remove the hive and destroy it. To prevent wasps from returning, the area is lubricated with a liquid insecticide solution.
  • Dissolve dishwashing detergent in water. Take half a glass of soapy liquid per liter. You can simply pour the mixture into the hole in the house or spray it through a spray bottle. The resulting impermeable film inside the nest will lead to the death of stinging insects.

Although folk remedies and help get rid of wasps, but using chemical aerosols will be faster and more reliable.

It is more difficult to destroy the home of wasps, which is located in hard to reach place, under the floor. First of all, you need to determine where the entrance to the hive is. You can do this by luring wasps with sweet nectar. If insects regularly flock to the bait, then poisonous agents are added to it.

The population destroyed in this way will not annoy the owners of the house. And the nest is filled with water or sprayed with effective preparations. Then you can be sure that the wasps will not return to their original place.

Powdered boric acid is used to repel insects.

It is mixed with sweet drinks, placing containers in the basement. To get rid of wasps under the floor, it is possible to use traditional, folk methods, as well as baits.

A hive in the attic can be destroyed in several ways:

  1. Often they simply fill the nest with water. You can climb up the stairs and lower the house into a container with hot water. But here you need to be careful not to fall down the stairs.
  2. Baits made from honey, compote mixed with insecticides will free the hive from its inhabitants. All that remains is to carefully remove the nest and burn it on the site.
  3. It is advised to use a vacuum cleaner to suck the wasps inside the bag, and then pull it out and place it in a bucket of water. But there is a danger of bites from insects that manage to remain free.
  4. If the nest is located at a low altitude, then Dichlorvos or Karbofos is sprayed inside the wasp’s home. Then they plug the hole with a rag soaked in the poison. After half an hour, you can destroy the wasps’ habitat.

Each method is effective and will destroy the hive and save the inhabitants of a private home from the danger of insect bites.

Wherever they build wasp nests! It happens that inside the plaster or even concrete wall They discover a paper house. It is much more difficult to remove insects here. Baits that are placed near the house come to the rescue.

Wasps will change their place of residence when a string of hot pepper “decorations” hangs nearby.

If you find a hole in the wall, you can seal it with a durable solution. Polyurethane foam will not work, since it is easy for insects to chew through the frozen mass.

Coating the hole with adhesive film will do. The houses are filled in concrete with water, kerosene and outside Houses.

Safety precautions when removing wasps

Before you begin the procedure of getting rid of a wasp hive and its inhabitants, you need to think through the safety rules:

  1. It is best to carry out treatment at night, when insects are not so active.
  2. To prevent wasp attacks, protect your hands with gloves and your body with thick clothing. It is better to wear a mask and glasses on your face. If you lower the nest into a container of water, it is better to keep the bucket suspended. There must be an assistant nearby who will hold the ladder and help you quickly descend in the event of an attack by a flock of wasps.
  3. Before removing the nest, put a plastic bag on it, inside of which an insecticidal agent is sprayed. The bag is tied at the base of the nest. The bag must be tight so that wasps do not bite it.
  4. You should not come close to the nest if an aerosol with toxic substances has been sprayed into it. Wasps at this moment are very aggressive and will cause great harm to humans. Children or pets should not be nearby.

People with allergic reactions should not deal with wasp nests. It is better to call specialists for this.

Such a dangerous procedure as getting rid of wasps does not take place without stinging insects. The damaged area is immediately washed with water. After removing the remaining poison and dirt, wipe the wound with a cotton swab dipped in hydrogen peroxide and an alcohol solution.

To prevent swelling, apply an ice compress to the bite site. A piece of sugar attached to it helps to quickly draw out the poison from the affected area.

For allergy sufferers, it is important to take antihistamines immediately.

Multiple wasp stings are dangerous to humans as they can be fatal. Therefore, in this case, the patient is urgently hospitalized. First aid is to cover the patient with warm heating pads, give a Suprastin tablet, 20 drops of Cordiamine. By following safety rules when fighting wasps, you can avoid their attack.

At first glance, wasps are fairly harmless insects, however, they can cause quite a lot of trouble if they choose a summer cottage as their permanent residence. To get rid of a wasp swarm in a country house, there are a huge number of proven methods, the choice of which will depend on the location, accessibility and, of course, personal desires.

Wasps can cause quite a lot of damage to human health, because they are able to actively spread dangerous diseases, like intestinal infections. Therefore, if these insects land on a plate of fruit, it is advisable to wash them again. It is impossible to predict their actions and reactions to the appearance of someone near the nest. They are capable of attacking the whole family without any reason. The bites of these pests can cause skin redness, irritation, swelling, suffocation, and in some people an allergic reaction.

These insects look for places where they can settle near food, where they can easily attach their nest and no one will disturb them. It is for this reason that most often their cocoons can be found near the house or right in it.

Favorite habitats of wasps

Before you begin to get rid of these pests, the first thing you need to do is find their habitat. Moreover, it is capable of being located even at the most unexpected points:

  • on the trees in the garden;
  • in the ground in an embankment;
  • in outbuildings;
  • under the branches;
  • in diaries;
  • under stones;
  • under the roof;
  • in the attic;
  • on a loggia or balcony;
  • in the garage;
  • bird's nest;
  • under the floor;
  • in an anthill;
  • in the grass;
  • in the barn;
  • on the veranda;
  • cracks.

In order to find their nest, you should inspect the entire territory.

Methods for controlling wasps and wasp nests

There are many options and methods for destroying a hive. It’s worth choosing depending on where it will be located. To begin the process itself, you must first put on a special beekeeper suit or clothing that insects will not be able to pierce.

Physical

You can remove the entire wasp nest on your own without any additional funds. The main thing is to act at night, when they are sleeping.

Destruction with water

This method is suitable if the pests are inside or outside. When they are in the ground, you need to boil a bucket of water and fill the nest with it. If the hive is suspended, you can use water of absolutely any temperature. To do this, fill the bucket completely and carefully lower the nest into it. Since the entrance to it is always at the bottom, the exit will be blocked. After 30 minutes the entire cocoon can be removed.

Destruction by fire

If there are insects in the garden, garden plot, fire can help a flowerbed eliminate a nest. To do this, you need to pour fuel, kerosene, machine oil or any other flammable substance on it and set it on fire. In a few seconds, the entire cocoon with absolutely all the inhabitants in it will disappear.

Destruction with a vacuum cleaner

This one will do too unusual way complete elimination. To do this, you will need a powerful vacuum cleaner, as well as a long hose to reach the nest itself. It should be inserted into the input and turn on the device to the maximum. In 15 minutes, all pests will be pulled into the bag.

The swarm bag can be sprayed with insecticides, immersed in water, or released away from the house, but in this case you should be very careful.

Repellent

These insects do not need to be exterminated, but simply made to fly away from your dacha. You can get rid of them with the help of herbs - wild rosemary, elderberry, peppermint. A decoction of such plants should be wiped from time to time. window frames, window sills, doorways. Products that have a strong odor will help - gasoline, kerosene, motor oil. You can pour them over the cocoon or moisten a rag and place it next to it. Interesting way- toss the head of the herring.

If the nest is located in the far corner of the garden or garden and is not in the way at all, then the wasps will be able to bring you more benefit than damage. They are able to provide good pollination, which will subsequently give excellent harvest, and these insects also work well against agricultural pests.

Lures and traps for individuals

It is possible to reduce the number of wasps in a summer cottage or completely exterminate them using simple DIY traps. They are made from plastic cans. To do this, cut off the neck and make a couple of holes on top to hang the cut container. The bait itself may contain more than just poison. You can use compote, lemonade, jam, juice, syrup, kvass, bubbling yeast. All the pests will fly towards the sugar, getting inside, but they will no longer be able to get out. The advantage of this method is that not only wasps will get into this mixture. If a lot of insects have already accumulated in the jar, they can be completely filled with water, thrown into the fire, sprayed with poison, or released away from the house.

Peels from melons or watermelons, which should be soaked in advance in an unscented insecticide, are perfect. Insects will eat the crust and die instantly.

Traditional methods

There are now a large number of effective folk recipes, which are excellent in fighting wasps.

  1. Dishwashing detergent - soap can envelop it in an airtight, dense film. Therefore, if you pour this product inside the nest, the wasps will not be able to fly away and will begin to suffocate.
  2. Fumigation with smoke - if it is difficult to get to the hive, you can smoke it, and after all the insects have flown away, you should treat the place where they lived with an aerosol insecticide.
  3. Acetic acid - using a spray bottle, you need to spray it all around the cocoon. Over the course of some time, the room will begin to become free of these pests.

Chemicals

All professional means for exterminating insects are certainly effective, but their constant use can be harmful. Therefore, you should be extremely careful with them.

Destruction with polyurethane foam

This option is suitable for garages, outbuildings, cracks in the floor or wall, and in attics. This product is good because it can instantly harden, and, therefore, when applied to the required place, the insects will instantly harden. However, some people notice that sometimes wasps are able to break through.

Insecticide

These insects are quite sensitive to any poison. They can die even from the lowest dosage. Therefore, you can use aerosols, black or any other drug that contains toxic elements. You can spray the bag with them and quickly put it on the cocoon, or spray it on the nest itself, which will give less effect and, in the absence of professional clothing, will not be very safe. Due to the lack of any oxygen and large amounts of poison, all wasps will die in a matter of minutes. It is advisable to ensure that animals will not approach the area for at least 24 hours when applying pesticides.

You can spray the porch, window sills, balconies, and walls with these products. Due to the fact that they contain a large number of toxins, the effect can last up to 20 days. The most effective include: “Get”, “Sinuzan”, “Tetrix”, “Davizon”. These drugs can not only get rid of the problem, but also prevent their occurrence for about 8 months. They are suitable for all insects, however, they should be used as a last resort, because beneficial creatures also die.

The solution should be prepared before use. When working, be sure to use rubber gloves, a respirator, and a protective suit. If this product enters the respiratory tract, it can cause serious poisoning.

However, it is worth considering that these options will only help if the nest is at least slightly visible. If you can’t find it, then the best option to solve this problem is to call specialists.

What to do if the nest is not visible?

If you can see that wasps are swarming in one place, but the nest itself is hidden, you need to sit quietly for 30-40 minutes and watch where they fly. The best time for this is the evening, since the whole family will be returning home for the night. Having seen the place where they are all flying, you can examine it and decide in what ways to start fighting them.

How to get rid of wasps in a country house under a roof in an inaccessible place

If it is impossible to get to the hive itself, then getting rid of them will become much more difficult, because if it is not destroyed, it is unlikely that it will be possible to get rid of the wasps. However, for these cases there are special recommendations:

  1. Using a spiral - if the cocoon is located under the roof of a house, loggia, or attic, a spiral can help, which contains an insecticidal substance that can act at a distance of up to 2 m. It must be installed on a non-flammable surface. With constant use of this method, you can easily achieve the complete destruction of all pests.
  2. Bonfire - this option is not designed for the rapid disappearance of insects, but after a few days the hive can become significantly empty. To do this, you need to make a fire so that the smoke falls directly on it.
  3. Smoke bombs - if placed correctly, all inhabitants of the nest will disappear in about 3 hours.
  4. Rubber, leather - if you set these things on fire, a sharp, unpleasant aroma will be released in the process. In this case, two days will be enough for all the wasps to survive.
  5. Poisonous bait - ordinary boric acid, which can be purchased at a pharmacy without any problems, is suitable. It has no odor and does not change the taste of food. Therefore, wasps will be able to eat this poison and not understand it. Within a day you can forget about them. You can add this product to sugar, jam, juice, kvass, lemonade or compote.

If the hive is under a roof between logs

In order to remove all the wasps in an inaccessible place between the logs, you just need more patience and a vacuum cleaner.

  • using a vacuum cleaner, you should suck out as many insects that fly to the house as possible;
  • then you need to spray the wasp’s nest with a preparation that is designed to combat flying insects;
  • You should definitely block the entrance to it.

If the wasps still continue to arrive, the procedure must be repeated.

How to get rid of wasps in the wall of a wooden house if the nest is inaccessible

Quite often you can find a nest of bees in the walls wooden house. There are several options to remove it:

  1. Use polyurethane foam, which instantly hardens and the wasps harden with it.
  2. Pull them out with a vacuum cleaner, but in this case the queen may not get into it, which means that the result of the disappearance of insects will be short-lived.
  3. Place poisonous baits.

To prevent wasps from returning to the occupied place in the future, it is advisable to wipe it with potassium permanganate, acetic acid, peroxide

.

How to get rid of a wasp nest on a balcony

It is also quite easy to remove all the insects that have settled on the balcony. The main thing is to act in the evening or early morning.

  • hot water - carefully lower the entire nest into one bucket of boiling water. So, stand for about 10-20 minutes. Then carefully remove and destroy;
  • poison - you can spray the aerosol several times inside the bag. Then lower it onto the cocoon and tie it tightly. Leave it like this for several days.
  • mosquito coil – it should be left burning near the nest. In a couple of days the entire hive will disappear.

How to get rid of earthen wasps

There are several ways and techniques that can be used to eliminate a swarm of wasps that have settled in the soil.

  1. Poisoned baits - insecticide or boric acid should be dissolved in syrup and left near the hole, replenishing periodically. It will take about a week for the wasps to completely disappear.
  2. Fire – this option is the fastest. You need to pour any flammable substance into their nest. Due to the fact that paper honeycombs are underground, they will burn in a matter of seconds.
  3. Hot water - if there are flammable structures nearby, then this method will do. You will need 2-3 buckets of boiling water. It should be poured very quickly into the hole and covered with a stone. It is advisable to act as quickly as possible so that the wasps cannot fly out and begin to attack.
  4. Insecticides - you need to pour a poisonous agent into the cocoon and cover it with a stone.

First aid for a wasp sting

To relieve swelling, it is recommended to immediately after a bite rub with onion, parsley, garlic or diluted ammonia. You can also use soda lotions and take antiallergic medications. If the reaction is severe, use hydrocortisone. If bronchospasm begins, rapid heartbeat, pain in the lower back, heart area, joints, convulsions should be immediately called ambulance.

It is quite possible to deal with a wasp nest on your own if you know what methods and methods should be used for this, as well as how to properly protect yourself when destroying them.

Having problems with wasps? You can solve them quickly if you know what to do. Each situation involves several options for eliminating insects. It is important not only to get rid of uninvited guests, but also to prevent their appearance in the future. Don't forget about preventive measures, which should be carried out regularly.

Neighborhood with wasps has positive and negative aspects. Therefore, it is recommended to think about the decision first. Especially when it comes to a summer cottage.

Positive and negative aspects of the neighborhood

Wasps are considered warlike and vengeful. They actively hunt for more small insects, most of which are pests.

Adults prefer various sweets and juices. But any organic food is great for consumption. Insects do not hesitate to feed on landfills and cesspools. This means that they are carriers of infections.

The hornet's nest is reliably guarded; any intrusion into the territory is regarded as a threat. An immediate attack will follow, even in cases where there is no special reason for this. In other words, when passing by a hive, there is a risk of being stung.

Wasp stings pose the greatest danger to children and allergy sufferers. Children are naturally inquisitive and playful. The nest may attract their attention, and the wasps will become an object of play. Unreasonable aggression and a bite can cause an allergic reaction, including pulmonary edema. In these cases, getting rid of the hive is simply necessary!

Where should the fight begin?

The procedure is divided into stages.

  1. Exploration and search for the hive.
  2. Selecting the appropriate elimination method.
  3. Preparatory work.
  4. The process of destruction.
  5. Cleaning up the place.
  6. Preventive measures.

In some cases, it is enough to destroy a certain number of individuals, in others, the entire hive is destroyed.

How to find a nest?

Finding a nest under the roof, in sheds and attics is not always so easy. There are several ways to do this.

  1. Watch the flight of wasps in the evening. In the evening, the insects return to their roost for the night.
  2. In the morning or afternoon, place a piece of fish, meat or crushed fruit crushed with sugar near the intended location. Follow the route of arriving and departing insects.
  3. Catch one wasp (previously outfitted accordingly), tie a bright thread or thin strip of fabric to the base of its abdomen. Follow her.

Which destruction method should I choose?

When choosing a solution, you need to consider the following points:

Preparatory work before cleaning

Wasps are very aggressive. Having noticed a threat, they will immediately attack furiously. The inhabitants of the lair flying nearby will also come to the aid of the defenders. If this happens, you need to calmly leave the area. It is now impossible to brush off, much less kill, insects. To avoid bites and achieve your plans, you will need:

  • thick clothes;
  • beekeeper mask;
  • durable gloves.

Before you stir up the nest, you should place a container with syrup a few meters away from it. This will distract the wasps flying around.

Ways to solve the problem

Each method has its own advantages and disadvantages. It is not always possible to cope with the problem on your own. How to remove a wasp nest in these cases?

Calling insect exterminators to your home

An application to the sanitary and epidemiological station and firefighters does not always give a positive result. The reason for refusal and delay lies in the fact that this procedure is not the direct responsibility of organizations.

Folk method: bucket of water

One of the oldest and most proven recipes for getting rid of annoying insects looks like this.

  1. Fill a bucket of water to the brim.
  2. Raise the container with liquid to the height of the nest and completely immerse it.
  3. Leave for 5 minutes, or even better, make a stand for the bucket and leave it for a day.
  4. Remove the nest and discard.

This method is very good when working on open areas. In other words, this is how you can get rid of wasp nests on the balcony and walls of barns.

Package and poisonous sprays

In cases where the hive is located in an inconvenient location or under a canopy, another simple method is used.

  1. Choose a large bag without holes.
  2. Trim the handles.
  3. Place the bag on the honeycomb.
  4. Secure it with tape or staples.
  5. Make a small cut on the side of the bag farthest from the nest.
  6. Release any toxic or poisonous insect spray inside.
  7. Tie the cut.
  8. After a day, you can remove the bag and contents.

Despite the high insulation, work must be carried out in a respirator, or even better - in a gas mask. This way you can destroy a wasp nest in the attic and under the roof of residential and non-residential buildings.

Poison-free package

If carrying out a procedure using toxic substances is impossible due to a number of circumstances, and the nest is located on a tree, then why bother? Place the bag on the hive, tie it and knock it down. The package and its contents are thrown into the fire or drowned in water.

Take advantage of the fire

If there are no flammable materials or wood nearby, why not just burn the nest? To do this, you need to pour any flammable substance over it to speed up the combustion process and prevent the angry inhabitants from flying out.

Spraying with pesticides

The use of special chemicals has proven itself with the best side. By generously spraying your home, you can count on a positive result. In some cases, you will need to repeat the procedure 2-3 times. After this, the nest is knocked down and taken away.

Poisonous agents with microcapsules

Science has made a huge step forward. If previously Dichlorvos was considered the main remedy for pests and insects, today more effective drugs are available on the market. At the same time, they are safer for humans.

These remedies work a little differently. The insect is poisoned upon entering the nest, plus the wasp also introduces poison into the hive - 1-3 days and the poison will affect everyone. Main disadvantage- high cost of substances.

What to do with ground wasps?

Ground wasps differ from their relatives in their large dimensions. They make their homes underground. In fact, there are a lot of varieties. Moreover, having found no more suitable place, the most common representatives of this type of insect place their homes directly on the ground. How to destroy such a wasp's nest?

Fill the passages with cement

A radical method that will require a significant amount of consumables. Dilute sand and cement in a ratio of 1 to 3. When filling insects’ homes, you need to take into account the possibility of hidden passages. A small amount of solution will only clog the outlet. Even if he is alone, the wasps will gnaw the road or dig a workaround.

Flood the insects' home with water

It is most effective to use boiling water for such purposes; large volumes of hot liquid need to be taken care of in advance. Most often, about three buckets are enough, but if the nest is huge, then required quantity water can increase 2-3 times.

Carbide

Wasps are experienced builders; sometimes the distance between the entrance and the home stretches several meters. There is no point in flooding the inputs, but there is another solution. After pouring a small amount of water, pieces of carbide are placed in the entrances. After this, the entrance is closed with a rag soaked in gasoline or other petroleum product. As a result, toxic smoke will penetrate the hive and poison the local inhabitants.

Finally, one more piece of advice: before destroying a wasp’s nest, warn your neighbors. During this time, they should close the windows and not go outside unless absolutely necessary.

How to get rid of a wasp's nest

Hi all! I’m not allergic to wasp or bee stings, I don’t have any fear of these insects, but recently one thing really confused me.

General cleaning of the house smoothly moved to the attic, where I discovered a huge wasp nest.

This neighborhood did not make me happy, so I had to take measures to “evict” my flying comrades along with their “home.” The operation was successful and now I am happy. Want to know how to get rid of a wasp nest? How to do this safely? I'll tell you everything in the article below.

How to destroy a wasp nest

Today, adults and children are increasingly allergic to wasp stings. If you have a wasp nest in your country house or apartment, find out how to get rid of it.

In addition to the fear of getting bitten, you will constantly hear the buzzing of these insects, because they will fly from the house to the garden.

Insect control can be done in several ways, which are popular among experienced summer residents.

What to do if a wasp's nest appears

It is better to fight insects in the evening, as they fly away in the morning and your actions will be ineffective. Before getting rid of a wasp nest in your dacha, you need to check whether you are allergic to insect bites.

To do this, it is advisable to consult an allergist. Remember that bites can even be fatal.

When fighting wasps, it is important to wear clothing that completely covers visible parts of the body. It is advisable that things be made of dense material. Take a ladder, then it will be easy to reach the nest. Prepare a spray bottle with wasp repellent or a solution of petroleum products in advance. You can also get rid of the nest with boiling water.

After you have processed the nest, it must be torn off, put in a bag, taken away from the house and burned. Some gardeners use dichlorvos to treat wasp habitats. Your goal is to destroy most of the wasp family, then the rest of its members will fly away forever.

If you prefer more humane methods of getting rid of wasps in the country, then try hanging red hot peppers next to the nest. After some time, the wasps should fly away.

How to get rid of wasps 100%

Today on the market you can find special poisons against wasps, which are placed as bait until the wasps fly away from the nest completely.

Cypermethrin and Actellik solutions are popular. They must be diluted with water in the proportion specified by the manufacturer, and then simply sprayed onto the nest. After 20-30 minutes, the nest can be removed and burned.

Keep in mind that drugs may act differently on wasps. For example, if you get rid of a wasp nest using Ghetto, then you should not rush to pull out the nest. Wait until the next day, otherwise the chance of getting stung by wasps will increase.

If the wasp's nest is hanging down, try drowning it in water. To do this, take a container of water and immerse the wasp house in it. Wait about 5 minutes and then remove the socket.

Sometimes bees appear at the dacha. Please note that without visible reasons these insects do not attack humans, however, their proximity can be unpleasant. You can get rid of bees by exterminating them or try to move them to another place.

One of the effective methods of relocating bees is fumigation with smoke. Once the insects become lethargic, they can be placed in a bag and transported.

If you decide to get rid of a wasp nest in your country house, choose the most optimal method. Don't forget to take an allergy test and wear thick clothing and other personal protective equipment.

With your own hands, you can, even without the involvement of specialists, relocate bees and get rid of any insects in your dacha.

How to get rid of wasps

Wasps are quite annoying predatory insects, which can nest in the most unexpected places. The pain from a single insect bite is comparable to a burn, but the fact is that a wasp is not a bee, which dies after the first bite. If the wasp feels aggression, it will sting again and again, and this is not only painful, but also dangerous.

In addition, let’s not forget that wasps fly everywhere, including in garbage dumps, and therefore are active carriers of intestinal infections. The sting of a wasp is not at all sterile, and when bitten, a wound remains on the skin, albeit small, but still, which can subsequently fester and cause a lot of trouble.

Attention!

For the time being, wasps are invisible, but as fruits and berries begin to ripen, they begin to be irresistibly drawn to human habitation, and by mid-summer the wasp population increases significantly, as does aggression.

A seemingly small wasp nest that appears begins to grow literally before our eyes, and at first the proximity to a person seems to be “quiet and peaceful,” so some compassionate summer residents or apartment dwellers prefer what is called “not stirring up the wasp’s nest.”

But by mid-summer, insects will definitely begin to show aggression, stinging not only people and pets, but also damaging crops. personal plot. Agree, it’s not very pleasant when there are a dozen wasps constantly circling around you, even if they are not aggressive.

The behavior of wasps cannot be predicted - they can attack in a swarm, deciding that a person is encroaching on their home. The bite of several insects, not to mention a whole swarm, requires immediate seeking qualified medical help.

So, as soon as a tiny wasp nest is discovered in a dacha, on a personal plot or dacha, you must immediately begin to act - the larger the nest, the more difficult it will be to destroy it.

And you don’t need to listen to the nonsense of some “professionals” that you need to wait until winter, when the wasps go into hibernation, and only then can they be safely destroyed. I wonder how these advisors imagine life together with wasps? Especially if there are children in the house.

How to find a nest?

To get rid of wasps for sure and for a long time, you need to find out the reason for their appearance. If there are no grapes, fallen or rotting fruits on the site, but there are still a lot of wasps, it means that they did not just fly by by chance, but there is a nest somewhere.

Wasps prefer to build their nests in places that are difficult to access and hidden from prying eyes. Therefore, all country houses, attics and roofs, as well as balconies in multi-storey buildings- simply ideal places for wasp nests.

They can comfortably be placed under the siding of a house or balcony, in a niche under slate, in a pile of unused rubbish, and even in bushes or hedges. Recently, wasp nests have been increasingly found behind air conditioners and in drainpipes.

There is also a species of wasps that prefer to nest in the ground - these are the so-called ground wasps.

Finding a nest directly in the house or on the balcony is usually not difficult. It is enough to carefully observe where wasps fly most often.

It is much more difficult to detect nests on a large plot of land. But there is still one sure way: a small piece of meat or fish is laid out on the veranda or right on the street as bait. A person will need to be attentive and observant - the wasps will begin to run between the bait and the nest. In this simple way, a wasp's nest can be easily found.

Security measures

It is necessary to carefully prepare for the operation to destroy a wasp nest. To do this, you need to dress in tight and thick clothes that the bees cannot bite through, and it is also advisable to protect your face as much as possible - a wasp sting on the face is especially dangerous and unpleasant.

It is advisable to perform the operation in dark time days, since it is at night that the wasps are inactive and are all in the nest. If the operation is carried out during the day, then the wasps returning and not finding their nest will cause a lot of trouble.

In no case should individual insects be destroyed - wasps are capable of secreting a special substance that will be a signal to attack for the entire swarm.

If the wasp nest is nevertheless greatly disturbed and the entire swarm flies out, the operation should be interrupted and wait until the next night.

If insects have settled in an apartment, on a balcony or in a country house

First of all, you must remember to notify all neighbors and family members - all windows and doors must be carefully closed.

The most universal method of getting rid of wasps are special chemical preparations suitable for controlling insects both in the apartment and in the country. The market is filled with many effective drugs, which will help you easily get rid of wasps. To prepare the drug, you must carefully read the instructions and follow them exactly.

The prepared solution with the chemical is poured into a large plastic bag, and then the bag is put on the wasp nest and slammed shut so that the flight of the wasps is blocked.

If the wasps have set up a nest under the roof of the house, then the neck of the bag is glued tightly with tape. If the nest is made on a tree, then the bag is simply pulled tightly over the nest.

The package with the chemical and the nest inside can be removed after 3-4 days - this time should be enough for all the wasps to die.

On to the pros this method It is true that many chemicals provide long-term protection against the reappearance of wasps.

If they settled on a personal plot

There are several ways to destroy wasp nests on a site. Most effective way described above - using chemicals. If the wasps have settled in the ground, a hollow tree, or behind the siding of a house, then try to pour the drug directly into the nest. The exit from the nest is blocked using dense fabric soaked in the same drug.

If the nest is located on the ground, then it can be filled with water - sometimes this method also works. It is best to use a hose with strong water pressure. Another effective way is to pour a large amount of boiling water over the wasp’s nest.

If the nest is located in a well-accessible place, then the water method will be as follows: the hanging nest is completely immersed in a bucket of water, and the bucket itself is supported from below with a stepladder or boards. There should be no gaps between the edges of the bucket and the ceiling, otherwise the wasps will fly out. The bucket should hang above the ceiling for several days.

Dichlorvos, Domestos, bleach... The essence of using these drugs comes down to the following - the insects are stupefied, the nest is removed and burned. The method may be effective, but it is quite dangerous, since, most likely, the bite of a half-drunk wasp cannot be avoided.

Well, the last way is if you can’t get rid of wasps on your own, there are special services for this. The visiting specialists, as a rule, give a guarantee for the work performed, so in the near future you can forget about wasps.

Folk remedies

It is easy to set a wasp nest on fire, however, it is unacceptable to do this if the nest is made on a tree or on wooden building- a fire is inevitable. A wasp's nest burns completely in a matter of seconds, but it can only be set on fire if the danger of fire is completely excluded.

The use of bait gives good results, in addition, this method is considered the safest for humans. The result will not be noticeable as quickly as we would like, but it will certainly be there.

You can use beer with sugar, jam, juice or just sweet water as bait. Any drug to combat wasps, purchased in the store, is added to the odorous bait. If the drug is not available, you can add ordinary boric acid, but the effectiveness will of course be lower.

The bait is thoroughly mixed with the preparation and placed in an accessible place where arriving wasps will enjoy it with pleasure. But there is one important point- do not forget that pets can also try the bait, which, of course, should not be allowed under any circumstances.

And one more thing - you can’t use honey, bees will definitely flock to it, and they are not our enemies at all.

The bait needs to be renewed every few days until the insects disappear completely.

Wasps are not a mistake of nature at all, but our closest agricultural assistants. Wasps do their job perfectly - they destroy small pests and their larvae. Therefore, if there are a lot of wasps on the site, but they are not very annoying and the neighborhood is quite peaceful, you should not blindly exterminate them.

If wasps only occasionally fly into a summer cottage and do not build nests there, then they are extremely beneficial. In this case, peaceful coexistence - best option for both sides. Well, if a swarm of wasps still bothers you, then you can get rid of the nest quite quickly.

How to get rid of a wasp nest in your country house

The appearance of a wasp's nest in the country is a very unpleasant moment. The situation is further aggravated if one of the family members has a severe allergy to insect bites. In addition to the constant fear of getting stung by a wasp, you are haunted by annoying buzzing from all sides and striped creatures scurrying back and forth.

At the beginning of summer, you may not even realize that winged pests have built a nest under the roof of a house or in a barn. The main activity of wasps begins in early August.

At this time, their immense appetite attracts insects to the sweet smells of compotes and jam. While on the site, you forget about a pleasant summer vacation. All thoughts are directed only at how to remove a wasp’s nest in the countryside forever and as soon as possible.

Safety precautions

Living on the same property with an aspen family is not the most pleasant neighborhood. But if you decide to actively fight aggressive insects, you need to be doubly careful. Before you destroy a wasp's nest, you need to protect yourself and your loved ones.

Protective clothing. A very important point. Before fighting wasps in your dacha, put on thick trousers, a jacket or hoodie, boots or shoes that you can tuck your pants into tightly, and gloves.

On top of the hood you can wear a hat with a mosquito net. If you plan to use chemicals, be aware that the products may leave stains that are difficult to remove.

Using stairs can be very dangerous. Very often, wasps make their nest at a high altitude, for example, under the eaves of the second floor or on a tree branch. Be extremely careful when trying to reach the nest from a ladder. At the most unexpected moment, a swarm of wasps can fly out of the nest. The danger of falling in this case is very high.

Harm from chemicals. If you have chosen special chemicals to combat wasps, make sure that there are no children or animals in the vicinity. No one should be on the site for at least 24 hours. In addition, after the procedure, you need to put all dead insects in a bag and take them away.

Otherwise, poisoned wasps can cause serious poisoning to a cat or dog if they decide to feast on easy prey.

How to find a wasp's nest

Before we talk about how to get rid of wasps in the country, you need to know how to find the main source of the problem. If the wasp shelter is not located in plain sight, then you will first have to start looking for it. This process is also unsafe.

Attention!

You may accidentally, without expecting it, step on a nest or touch it with your hand. In this case, attacks by aggressive insects cannot be avoided. Therefore, searches must also be carried out in protective equipment and be prepared for a quick escape. Where can you look for wasps first?

A wasp's nest is often located in the most secluded and unexpected places. The first thing you need to do is watch the wasps. Stand aside and watch in which direction the insects fly after a hard day's work. This way you will already determine in which part of the house or garden you should search.

After this, carefully inspect all construction beams, eaves, roof canopies, attic, shed for storing things and work equipment. It is possible that you will find a nest there. But often wasps climb into even more inaccessible places. If you see a small gap in the wall, floor or pipe joint, you can safely assume that wasps live there.

In this case, the only sure way to get rid of annoying wasps is to treat them with aerosol chemicals, and then tightly seal the cracks.

How to choose the right time

It is best to get rid of wasps at the beginning of the season, since fighting wasps in wooden house closer to September it is much more difficult. Firstly, the insect population is not yet very large. Secondly, wasps are not as active during this period as in late summer. But, as mentioned above, it is not always possible to find a wasp shelter in time. Active wasps must be controlled at night.

In the dark, their reaction is slowed down, so the operation poses less danger. In addition, in the evening all the wasps return to the nest and the colony can be completely destroyed at one time. Wasps are very vindictive insects.

If you try to destroy a half-empty nest during the day, then the wasps that return after a few hours can greatly harm the offenders of their fellows.

Make an escape plan. Do not neglect this, at first glance, ridiculous point. After spraying poison towards the nest or an unsuccessful attempt to remove the insect shelter, the wasps will begin to fly out and attack.

Willy-nilly you will have to run very quickly to hide from the bites. It is better if the route is thought out in advance, and there are no unexpected obstacles on the way in the form of a log or scattered children's toys.

Weapon Selection

Before proceeding directly to the destruction of the wasp’s home, you need to thoroughly prepare and study various ways, evaluate your own capabilities. But at this time the wasps do not stop attacking. Their bites continue to be a serious threat to dacha dwellers. What should I do? Try setting traps that will temporarily distract the wasps' attention.

The simplest option is a container with a sweet liquid. Wasps flock to the bait. A bottle with a narrow neck is best suited for this purpose. Insects crawl inside the trap, but getting out of there is quite problematic.

Instead of regular sugar syrup, use jam or compote. The fruity aroma attracts wasps much more strongly. Some summer residents advise adding to the “delicacy” an ampoule of any insecticide that is designed for gastrointestinal poisoning of pests. They say that in this way the number of insects can be significantly reduced.

Water. One of the most common methods offered by summer residents. If you act strictly according to plan, then it is quite possible to exterminate annoying insects without the use of chemicals. So:

  • put on a prepared protective suit;
  • pour into a bucket hot water. The higher the temperature, the better;
  • take a thick plastic bag or bag;
  • if the nest is on a tree branch, throw a bag over it and tighten it tightly with a cord on top. If the wasps decide to make a home in the corner of the house or under the roof, holding the bag directly under the nest, with a sharp movement with a stick, knock the nest into the bag and tie it too;
  • immerse the bag in a bucket, press it on top with a stone and leave overnight;
  • in the morning all the wasps will be destroyed.

Chemicals

Before destroying a wasp nest under the roof of a wooden house, you can buy a special pesticide in the form of a spray. Aerosol bottles are easy to use and have a fairly effective effect on wasps.

But just as in other cases, safety precautions should not be neglected. Having prepared a can of poison, proceed as follows:

  • put on the correct closed clothing, point the bottle at the nest;
  • direct a stream of pesticide to the wasps’ habitat and spray for 10-15 seconds;
  • leave the area as quickly as possible.

The best means for baiting these insects are those that say “from wasps”, and not aerosols. complex action"from all species that fly...". From those pesticides that are presented in stores household chemicals, “Moskitol against wasps”, “Raid” and “Dichlorvos” (regular, not newfangled “odorless”) have proven themselves well.

It is usually not possible to deal with the entire wasp family the first time. The procedure will need to be repeated in another day or two.

This method is often used as preparatory stage before destroying the nest. After exposure to the chemicals, the wasps become stupefied, and their reaction slows down significantly. Therefore, further manipulations become less dangerous.

Burning out the nest

There's another one effective way, how to remove a wasp nest in the country. The process is carried out using smoke from a fire lit directly under the nest. It is better to burn not ordinary wood, but pine needles. It is believed that this smell quickly intoxicates insects and forces them to leave their homes.

This option is suitable for cases where wasps have settled on a tree branch. It is unlikely that anyone will dare to light a fire right on the porch own dacha. Although some resourceful owners came up with the idea of using a barbecue for this purpose.

The lit fire must be left for some time. The smoke will rise up and suffocate the wasps, causing them to fly out. In an hour or two, all insects will leave their shelter. The nest can be easily removed and destroyed.

There is another variation of the method of getting rid of wasps using fire. Without waiting for the wasps to leave the home, you need to get to the nest. And also, as stated in the method with water, “pack” it in a bag. The package is quickly doused with gasoline or other flammable liquid, and thrown into a fire.

Kerosene or diesel fuel. Any of these liquids should be poured into a garden spray bottle and generously sprayed onto the wasp's nest. After some time, the insects will die from the poisonous smell and you will not have problems cleaning the nest. But there are pitfalls here.

Few people decide to voluntarily pour kerosene on their home. After all, the slightest carelessness and fire can lead to instant ignition of the building.

Recently, those who have decided to use this method often complain that kerosene does not help. Experts suggest that the insects have mutated, and their bodies have become more resistant to the effects of such liquids. So, instead of killing insects, you can only anger them.

Insecticidal dust. Insecticidal dust is effective in cases where wasps have built a nest directly on the ground. This insect behavior is typical of large hornets. If you are affected by this incident, proceed as follows:

  1. take a quarter cup of insecticidal dust (you can ask for Sevin 5 Garden Dust at the store);
  2. In the dark or early morning, sprinkle the hole in the nest with this powder. Do not forget about protective clothing and gloves;
  3. no need to cover the nest. Let the wasps come and go freely. Poisonous dust clings to the paws and is carried inside the nest, infecting all other inhabitants.

Usually one or two days is enough to destroy the entire swarm. If you still notice live wasps on the third day, repeat the process.

Attention!

Vacuum cleaner. Reviews about this method are quite contradictory. Some summer residents consider it the only true salvation. For some reason, others don’t even want to try.

The process is quite long, but if everything is done correctly, the wasp's nest will be completely destroyed.

  • Pour about 5 cm of soap solution into the vacuum cleaner container. The liquid will kill insects already during suction;
  • place the end of the hose directly at the inlet of the socket;
  • turn on the vacuum cleaner and hold it until everything is inside. The procedure is long (it may take more than one hour) and noisy. But at the end of the process, you can forget about the wasp’s nest on the site;
  • As soon as the nest is completely inside, the vacuum cleaner must be turned off and the hose hole must be plugged tightly with a rag. An angry buzzing sound will be heard from inside for several hours. Once the sounds have subsided, you can open the vacuum cleaner and dispose of whatever is left of the nest.

How to get rid of a wasp nest on the balcony

Very often the question of how to destroy a wasp nest arises among residents apartment buildings. Wasps love to build their homes on balconies or under eaves. In this case, it is important to first find the nest.

If you notice that wasps have begun to fly into the room or, when going out onto the balcony, you constantly hear a characteristic hum, start searching. A wasp's nest is not always located in plain sight.

Insects love to climb into secluded places. Therefore, first of all, carefully examine:

  • ceiling;
  • cornices outside the window;
  • places under the windowsill;
  • drainpipes;
  • gaps between the wall and the sheathing;
  • mountains of things, cabinets and hanging shelves.

Any of these places may be occupied by new claimants to your territory.

If you cannot find the nest at first glance, watch the wasps. Within 10-15 minutes you will understand where the insects are rushing to.

Before removing a wasp nest, just as in the case of country pests, prepare thoroughly. You cannot immediately begin to clear out the rubble or tear off the sheathing from the wall. Wasps can attack unexpectedly and very aggressively.

The methods of combating “urban” wasps are exactly the same as described above. Compliance with safety measures and speed of action is the key to success in this process.

Insects despite their small size can bring a lot of problems, so it is understandable that many of you have repeatedly wondered how to get rid of wasps in the house. Whether you are an avid summer resident or a city dweller, this trouble can come from anywhere. The peaceful coexistence of people and wasps, as practice shows, is an almost impossible mission - there is a completely logical explanation for this.

Facts you need to know

At first, the wasps behave quite peacefully and do not touch anyone, but closer to August, when the season for preparing compotes and jam for the winter begins, it becomes more and more difficult to get rid of them. As a rule, wasps hide in hard-to-reach places, which makes them even more difficult to kill.

You should know that in addition to the annoying sound, wasps can greatly harm the health of others, since:

  • In difficult situations, when the colony does not find nectar, it begins to feed on household waste in landfills, and this is the first source of infectious diseases.
  • A wasp sting can cause a very severe allergic reaction, sometimes even fatal.
  • Wasps in the country are big problem for beekeepers, as they take honey from bees.

Possible habitats

Typically, wasps settle under the roof, in loggias, in small holes, in tree hollows and cause a lot of problems for others. Since they consider this territory theirs, if you do not destroy the nest in time, you will experience the pain of their bites more than once.

Insects choose those places that will be outwardly well protected, but also located close to people in order to have unhindered access to food. Insulation, cement mortar or wood paneling not a problem for them - they will make very deep tunnels and it is almost impossible to get them out of there.

Wasps settle in an apartment, usually in secluded places, and breed offspring, which within 3-4 weeks begin to fly around the rooms or near the home. Insects, one might say domestic, very quickly get used to one place. Therefore, if they were last year, they will definitely return here next year. The peak of their aggressiveness comes in early autumn, when they can attack for no reason and sting very badly.

Over time, a small nest under the roof turns into a full-fledged colony in the form of a ball with a large number of entrances and exits. If such a “structure” is attached on one side to something solid, it poses a potential danger to humans.

What not to do when encountering a wasp

In order not to fall under the “hot hand” of a wasp, you must follow a few very simple rules:

  • Under no circumstances should you wave your arms or make very sudden movements - this can anger the insect even more.
  • You ask, how to deal with wasps in nature? Everything sweet and edible should be closed, or at least covered, so as not to tempt them again.
  • Insects are attracted to moisture, so immediately after bathing you need to dry yourself with a towel.
  • Walk carefully barefoot near old trees: insects settle in the roots, such an unexpected encounter can end in trouble.

During peak insect activity, constantly monitor your child and under no circumstances leave him alone. Childhood curiosity and a complete lack of basic self-preservation skills can lead to death. Therefore, always carry anti-allergy tablets, ointments or bite spray with you - this can save a person’s life.

We're on the warpath

Fighting wasps is a rather long and painstaking process that requires you to be extremely attentive and careful. It is very easy to determine that insects have settled near you for a long time: they constantly fly around for no apparent reason, even in the absence of food.

If you kill a couple of insects with a fly swatter, you won’t be able to get rid of the nest; this requires more radical measures. But first you should take care of your safety and wear protective clothing.

Bait at home

A small number of wasps have settled in a house or apartment, how can I get rid of them? Of course, homemade bait with poison. A fairly viscous, but no less fragrant liquid can be used as nectar - it can be old jam or honey. Pour it onto the bottom cut from plastic bottle, container, and treat the edges with oil. Thus, wasps trying to leave the container will simply slide and fall back, and the poison added in advance will not leave a single chance for salvation.

DIY trap

Instead of a viscous liquid, you can use plain water or watermelon or melon rind. A drop of a strong chemical will destroy not only the arriving wasp, but the entire colony. But it is worth recalling that insects that have chosen a place once will definitely return here again, even if one individual from the entire colony survives. In the following sections, you will learn how to destroy a wasp's nest once and for all.

External processing of the nest

Bait, bait, but you need to fight insects more harshly and gasoline, diesel fuel or purchased insecticides are suitable for this:

  • Delta zone.
  • Sinuzan.
  • Executioner.
  • Tetrix and others.

All these preparations, according to the attached instructions, are diluted with water, and the finished liquid is immediately used against insect pests. The operation should begin either early in the morning or late in the evening, when the wasps are sleeping. At other times of the day, you will simply anger them: you will receive dozens, or even hundreds of poisonous bites. Fill the nest with liquid and carefully wrap it plastic bag, remove it, and wrap the neck with tape. After a few days, the nest must be burned on fire.

Never set fire to a nest that is still hanging, as this can lead to a serious fire, especially in wooden and old buildings.

How to get rid of wasps in a wooden house if the nest is in a hard-to-reach place? To do this, use an extension tube with a sprayer at the other end. Spray concentrated poison into the nest itself, and seal the entrance hole with cement or cotton wool. After 2-3 days, gently tap the nest and if there is no response buzzing, remove it and also burn it on the fire.

We drown the nests with water

As mentioned earlier, some colonies settle underground near dried trees in their root system. In this case, the simplest and most accessible country method- this is to flood the tunnels with water. Never use a bucket, pan or bowl for this, as the volume of water may simply not be enough, and the insects will become very angry.

The best option would be a hose with an unlimited amount of water. As soon as excess water begins to pour out of the wasp nest, it is necessary to close the entrance with a stone or other object. For this method to really work, it is better to add poison, because the water will go away over time and the insects will build new exits - everything will start from the very beginning. But you will learn how to permanently get rid of wasps that have settled in deep tunnels in the next section.

Gas attack

Very often, wasps that settle underground build deep and very complex tunnels; water will not help in this case. If the nest is not accessible, then the most effective method- this is a “gas attack” of the colony using the familiar carbide.

Gasoline and WD40 in insect control

Place several pieces of this substance next to the nest and fill it with water - the gas produced as a result of the reaction will fill their village and gradually destroy the entire colony. Such procedures should be carried out early in the morning or in the evening, when the insects are resting. It will not be possible to get rid of them at once, but after several successful attempts, the colony will be completely destroyed.

Remember that wasp colonies compete with each other and always settle far from each other, so the survey area can be very large - this is worth taking into account.

If you don’t have carbide on hand, then you can replace it with store-bought dichlorvos; the product really helps, but not the first time. Therefore, you need to be patient and several cans of dichlorvos; the procedure will take several days. You may ask, how to get rid of wasps in the country if the nests are located far from each other? The answer is obvious: destroy the colonies gradually, using one of the proposed methods.

Folk remedies

Chemicals in concentrated form can harm not only insects, but also humans. Therefore, it is not recommended to use the poison in small spaces, and even more so when it is not possible to leave the apartment/house for several days. Folk remedies come to the rescue, tested over the years by our ancestors, who knew a lot about fighting various kinds pests.

Vinegar has a rather specific smell and insects do not like it very much; as a preventative measure, you can spray curtains, drapes and other textiles with it. Instead of vinegar, you can use a detergent diluted in water: it remains on the wings of insects, the inability to fly leads to inevitable death. You can also make a mint tincture - an old, proven ancient method of fighting insect pests.

If for some reason the above does not suit you, then the most radical and no less cheap way- This is a call to a special service. In service, which is necessary funds, protective clothing and experience in this difficult task.
