Hang horizontal blinds with your own hands. How to hang blinds on plastic windows: installation instructions

Plastic and aluminum blinds They protect the room well from the effects of bright sunlight, which is very important in rooms that are located on the sunny side: in offices and living rooms, where solar glare can interfere with watching TV or working on a computer. It is also convenient that installing horizontal blinds on plastic windows with your own hands is simple and does not require special skills.

Installation Features

The standard kit usually includes brackets, all consumables(bolts and dowels or tape), as well as instructions on how to install blocks of horizontal blinds on plastic windows. There is nothing complicated about it: first, brackets are mounted on the window, sashes or opening, and then a cornice is inserted into them.

There is no need to worry about how to properly install the lamella system on the cornice: the manufacturer has already done this for you. Therefore, the entire installation process comes down to just mounting the side brackets and takes a minimum of time.

Installation of horizontal blinds on plastic windows can be carried out with drilling, without drilling (on double sided tape) and on throw-on brackets. The choice of method largely depends on where exactly you plan to secure them.

Where to fix the blinds

Before hanging the blinds, please note: manufacturers provide a guarantee for blocks with a width of 22 cm to 220 cm and a height of up to 250 cm. A smaller width does not make sense, and for a larger one it is recommended to use two independent block. Blinds for plastic windows large sizes They are also found on sale, but they are fixed without a guarantee for the functionality of the structure.

How to make dimensions

Before installing blinds correctly, you need to take measurements. All subsequent installation and performance of the block system will directly depend on how accurately they are carried out. Instructions for taking dimensions are different for each installation location:

  • Inside window openings(suitable for cases where the window is located in a recess in the wall). It is important here that the slats do not touch the slopes when lifting and lowering. Based on this, we select the width of the block so that it is 4-5 cm (2-2.5 cm on each side) narrower than the window opening. The height of the entire curtain should accordingly be set 2-2.5 cm shorter than the length of the opening. To ensure that each sash can open freely when the slats are raised, a space must be left between the top edge of the window and the blinds.
  • Outside window openings (also suitable for cases where window unit placed in a recess in the wall). This arrangement makes it possible to cover the entire area of the opening with one wide curtain and, if necessary, darken the room more effectively. To do this, you need the width of the slats to be 5-5.5 cm on each side (10-11 cm in total) wider than the window opening, and the height of the entire curtain to be 10 cm lower than the window sill.
  • On window sashes (curtains open together with the sashes, suitable for the mini model). This method saves space as much as possible and leaves the window sill completely free. In this case, blinds to plastic windows must be attached so that they do not interfere with the rotation of the handles on the sashes and do not touch the window sill, but completely cover the glass. To do this, their width should be 1.5 cm on each side edge (only 3 cm) wider than the glass part of the window, and their height should be 1.5 cm greater than its length.
  • Outside the window opening (carried out when the window is located on the same plane with the wall). Since the handles on the shutters extend inside the room, in this case you will need a special bracket, which will make it possible to install fixed blinds at a short distance from the wall. In order for them to completely shade the room when closed, their width should be 20 cm wider than the window opening (10 cm on each side), and their length should be equal to or 10 cm greater than the height of the window.

How to markup

To prevent distortions during installation, before installing horizontal blinds Markings must be made on the wall above the plastic window with drilling. Don’t forget to leave enough space above the window, otherwise, when assembled, the slats will interfere with the opening of the sashes.

We will need:

  1. Blind block.
  2. Bolts and dowels to match the bracket.
  3. Roulette.
  4. Level.
  5. Construction pencil.
  6. Drill.
  7. Hammer.
  8. Screwdriver.

Operating procedure:

  1. Using a level and ruler, mark each side.
  2. Place the bottom of the mount on the reference line, then mark the drilling points with a pencil.
  3. Mark the markings with crosses to better identify the drilling points.
  4. Drill where the dowels will go, keeping the tool perpendicular.
  5. Insert the dowels by hand and drive them in with a hammer.

How to hang

The most difficult work behind. All that remains is to hang the horizontal blinds in place.

Procedure:

  1. We install universal brackets.
  2. By turning the latch counterclockwise, we secure the upper cornice to the bracket at a distance of 20 cm from the edge.
  3. Turn the latch clockwise until it stops.
  4. Insert the hook rotary mechanism, located on the upper cornice in the control handle (relevant for models with a cord and handle).

We check the functionality of the system: raise and lower the slats, rotate them under different angles When changing the lighting, check whether they interfere with the opening of the doors. If all these manipulations were successful for you without extra effort, the blinds are installed correctly.
In contrast thick curtains, lightweight slatted construction made of colored plastic or painted different colors aluminum ensures good air circulation while guaranteeing uniform lighting. With its help, you can easily protect your home from direct sunlight, and if the color and texture of the slats are correctly chosen to match the design of the apartment, they will highlight its advantages.

[Rated: 5 Average rating: 3]

Ten years ago, blinds were considered exclusively an office window decoration item. But recently the lamellas have changed, new design options have appeared. Designers began to use bamboo, linden logs, cherry wood and fabrics as production materials. It has become fashionable to select models for furnishing houses, apartments and public spaces. When turning to a salon or specialized store for help, you will receive competent advice from a sales consultant on installation, care and selection. If you are going to install blinds on your windows yourself, read our article in detail.

You need to know this in advance before installation!

To ensure that the blinds last a long time, try to install them carefully. If you understand the details in advance, the installation process will not take much time. The main thing is to take into account the models, installation method and take this into account during assembly. If you will be attaching window blinds directly to the wall, you need to make sure that its surface is perfectly flat.

Important point! When purchasing, be sure to check with your consultant whether all parts of the mounting set are included in the kit. There are situations when purchasing additional mounts is inevitable. It's better to take care of this in advance.

Blinds can be attached in one of four ways:

  • to the ceiling;
  • to the wall;
  • inside the window opening;
  • for each window division.

It doesn't matter which option you choose. It all depends on the individual preferences of the client. Installed on double-glazed windows of various shapes. But the method of fastening is selected individually. The sequence of steps is approximately the same, but there are some distinctive details.

Universal step-by-step steps for installing blinds

  1. Many are sure that models sell standard size and neglect preliminary window measurements . We would like to warn you: take the time to measure the height and width of the window opening.
  2. Be sure to note that the length of the slats should be two centimeters shorter than the length of the window. If you envisage the option of attaching the structure to the wall, then the canvas should cover the window fifteen centimeters on the right and left.
  3. Next, mark the fasteners. Make sure that there are no difficulties with the operation of the mechanisms and that they will easily allow you to open the window.
  4. Using the markings, attach the necessary parts to the base. Dowels and screws are screwed into the wall or ceiling. Sometimes directly into the glass unit. Next, a cornice is hung on them, which holds the structure.
  5. As soon as you finish installing the blinds, check their mechanism.

Installation of blinds on plastic windows

Installation of blinds on plastic windows is a common occurrence. Most modern double-glazed windows are made of plastic. This is a fragile material, so you need to work with it carefully. Now we will look at installation options where drilling is used:

We install vertical blinds on plastic windows

This is one of the common types. Functional Features, wide color palette, ease of care and color combination attracts buyers. That's why it's common in offices and public organizations. Installing vertical blinds will not take much time.

  1. It is necessary to make markings for fastening the elements.
  2. Next, attach the brackets and cornice.
  3. Place runners on the cornice and attach lamellas to them one by one.
  4. Attach weights to the control handle.
  5. Check the operation of the structure.

We install horizontal blinds on plastic windows

In most cases, horizontal slats are attached to the wall. They are able to close the window opening completely, but at the same time they look aesthetically pleasing and do not “squeeze” the space of the room. There are times when they are mounted to a window. Here, the lamella parts are attached to each sash separately. The installation system for horizontal blinds is no different from vertical options:

  1. We mark the places for fastening.
  2. We attach the brackets.
  3. We put a cornice on the brackets.
  4. Checking the length.
  5. We check the installation and operation of the mechanism.

We install blinds on plastic windows without drilling

If for some reason you do not want to drill a wall or a double-glazed window, you can use tape or special brackets. There are L-shaped brackets that are attached to the surface of the glass unit without drilling. They are easy to install and dismantle thanks to a simple latch. But, they are attached only to those doors that open. To attach the brackets to a closed sash without drilling, use double-sided mounting tape.

Thus, with the help of L-shaped brackets and tape, you can maintain the integrity of the window profile. Fastening with adhesive tape is less reliable than others, but if you do not overload the structure, it will last a long time.

Mounting on brackets

We install roller blinds on plastic windows

Roll models are installed in almost the same way as vertical ones. One of the most available options installation of blinds - on two brackets, which are secured with self-tapping screws.

  1. We make markings for the details.
  2. We fasten the brackets with self-tapping screws (make sure that they are at the same level, otherwise the blinds will hang crookedly).
  3. Next, we attach the cornice with the canvas.
  4. We check the operation of the structure.

Installation of blinds on wooden windows

Modern models are attached to wooden Euro-windows and old Soviet ones. It’s worth noting right away that when installing on old-style windows, you need to carefully take measurements.

Please note: the glazing bead on wooden Soviet windows should not protrude beyond the plane of the frame!

Among suitable models for wooden windows: isolight, isotra, roller and rollite. These are universal models. They fit harmoniously into the interior design, regardless of its style. Are different simple mechanism management and high performance.

One of the most complex installations on wooden double glazed windows– fastening to each section. All the necessary parts are included in the headset. Installation principles are the same as for plastic ones: using brackets or screws. If you are not afraid to make a hole in the glass unit, you will be pleased with the result. With the help of fastening with screws, the structure will last a long period of use.

Mounting to brackets is considered less reliable, but it has a huge advantage - no holes in the glass unit. When you want to remove the blinds, there will be no defects left on the window.

We install blinds on wooden windows

Let's take a closer look at the option using drilling and fastening with screws.

  1. First you need to make markings for each of the fastening elements.
  2. Make sure that the structure does not interfere with the opening of the window sashes.
  3. Make holes for the screws. Install screws and dowels.
  4. Attach the curtain rod to them.
  5. Install another fastener at the regulating thread to relieve the structure from accumulating load on that area.
  6. Attach the runners and slats to the cornice.
  7. Check the operation of the structure.

Self-tapping screws make it easier to attach the cornice to the window. Self-tapping screws will not cause harm window profile, but work carefully during installation. If you want to remove the slats after a while, no problem. After dismantling the structure, the holes are filled with special silicone glue white– and not a single trace of the screws will remain.

Good to know! To begin with, it is better to drill holes according to the markings, and then mount the parts. Screwing in self-tapping screws individually is one of the causes of cracks. And this installation method guarantees the integrity of the plastic.

When the holes are prepared, the brackets are carefully screwed to them. Then the cornice is installed and closed. The following steps are required:

  1. Install the hook in the control mechanism.
  2. Install the cane.
  3. Attach the tip to the cane.
  4. Secure the thread with a knot.
  5. Check the operation of the blinds.

Installing the lamella structure is not difficult if you follow all the requirements and work carefully. Also read the installation instructions, which are included with any model.

Secure the blinds to plastic window maybe two various options. Let's look at the advantages and disadvantages different ways fastenings and find out how to hang blinds with your own hands.

For some interior planning cases, blinds may be preferable to curtains. Their main advantage is the ability to regulate the light output. All you need to do for this is to rotate the slats to a larger or smaller angle relative to the surface of the window. There are two main methods used to attach blinds. Let's analyze their advantages and find out. How to attach them with your own hands.

How to take measurements correctly

First of all, the blinds must be correct size. To do this, you need to decide on the method of fastening. Methods can be divided into two groups:

If you plan to install blinds on several windows, you should measure each opening separately. Although it seems that the window openings are exactly the same, this is not always true. A discrepancy of 2-3 cm can lead to consequences that are difficult to eliminate.

If you plan to install vertical design, it is necessary to measure the height and width of the window opening. You should be careful when measuring, since you can shorten too long lamellas, but add additional elements narrow blinds will be problematic.

If the model has horizontal lamellas, the measurements will be somewhat more complex. If the blinds are attached to the opening, you need to determine what the width and height are. The length of the canvas is selected at your own discretion. You can find both models that reach the window sill, as well as long options that reach the floor. If necessary, blinds with plastic or aluminum slats are not difficult to make shorter.

When installing directly on the frame, you will need to consider whether the window will open.

If the window is solid and does not open, you can measure the entire width of the opening. If the shutters will open, it is worth ordering a separate structure for each half of the window. Measurements should also be taken accordingly. Measure the parameters of the glass (width x height) and add 20 mm on top and 5 mm on the edges.

When designing blinds that are attached directly to the frame, make sure that they will not interfere with the operation of the fittings and will not become an insurmountable obstacle to its maintenance (lubrication, adjustment, etc.)

Preparatory work

So, the mounting method has been determined, the blinds have been selected, ordered, manufactured and delivered to the apartment. What to do next? Before you start attaching the blinds to the window, it is worth doing some preparatory work.

First of all, you need to unpack the finished product, carefully untangle all the cords, without leaving the slightest knot, and examine the finished product. According to the attached instructions, you must carefully check the completeness, make sure that all structural elements are in place and look exactly as in the instructions.

If at the packaging stage something is mixed up or not included in the box, the blinds will not be installed. It is better to immediately file a complaint with the manufacturer than to look for a replacement or improvise, trying to do without the missing part.

You also need to prepare the window itself. You need to remove all unnecessary items from it. It is worth protecting the window sill and the nearest meters of floor with newspapers from dust and the inevitable debris when drilling. It's also worth making sure you have reliable support for legs (stepladder or sawhorse), so that the drill cord allows you to reach all drilling points.

Preparatory work when attaching blinds is not complicated and does not take much time. But if all these operations are not done on time, the installation process can take a significant amount of time and require a lot of labor.

No drilling

Modern plastic double glazed windows allow you to install blinds without using an electric drill. There may be several reasons for choosing this mounting method. For example, under the terms of the lease agreement, it is prohibited to carry out such manipulations in rented housing. Other reasons may be the lack of necessary power tools, reluctance to bother with drilling or spoil the surroundings.

First of all, it is worth considering that fasteners without the use of drills and screws are usually less reliable. This means that only lightweight structures can be secured in place in this way.

Usually the lamellas in them are arranged horizontally and are made of thin and light polymer. For heavier models, it is still worth choosing a fastening method using self-tapping screws. You can usually find out whether the selected model can be hung without drilling from the included instructions.

To work, you will need double-sided adhesive tape and scissors. The operating procedure is as follows:

The last stage of installation is attaching the adjustment strips to the block and installing the slats in place. The reliability of the fastening allows the blinds (provided that the model is not too heavy) to hang in place for several years without distortion or separation from the attachment point. However, when cleaning (removing dust from records), you must act carefully so as not to tear off the structure.

If you eventually need to remove tape-mounted blinds, this is quite easy to do. A special liquid (for example, Anti-Scotch composition) will help remove traces of glue.

But if you don’t have a professional solvent at hand, you can use a rag soaked in WD-40 or vegetable oil.

Required materials and tools

Now let's look at fastening with self-tapping screws. It's much more universal option, which allows you to hang almost any model using any mounting method (on the ceiling, in an opening or on the walls).

First of all, you should pay attention to the quality of the fastening elements included with the blinds. Sometimes manufacturers (this statement especially applies to cheap Chinese-made models) include too short and thin self-tapping screws made of low-quality steel. If you plan to attach heavy structures to the ceiling, it may be worth purchasing something more reliable.

Also for work you will need:

  • Measuring tools: pencil, ruler with bubble level, tape measure.
  • Drill. The drill bit for the drill is usually #6.
  • Dowel and hammer.
  • Brackets for mounting (usually included with the product).
  • Scissors.
  • Screwdriver.

Having prepared a set of tools for work, you can begin.

How to hang blinds on plastic windows with your own hands. Step by step instructions

The installation process usually does not cause any difficulties even for those who do this work for the first time. We will look at the operations for installing vertical blinds. Here are the main operations that need to be performed:

  • First of all, mark up. The brackets are usually mounted at a distance of 90 - 100 mm from the cornice. Mark the holes for the brackets with a pencil and drill them.
  • Insert into the holes plastic dowels. Insert the self-tapping screws into the holes in the bracket and screw them into the dowels.
  • Install the curtain rod with the fixed decorative panels on the brackets.
  • The runners are assembled according to the instructions provided. You need to attach the canvas to them and thread them into the cornice.
  • Weights are inserted into the lower part of the canvases. A decorative chain is attached to them.
  • Stoppers are inserted into the ends of the cornice and covered with decorative plugs.

The installation of horizontal blinds differs slightly. The main difference is greater sensitivity to strict adherence to horizontal installation.

After assembly, it is important to carefully check the operation of all elements of the system (make sure that you can open and close the blinds, and also change the angle of rotation).

Here are some tips from professional installers:

  • Before purchasing, make sure that the kit includes the necessary brackets. For some companies, the price of the kit includes only the canvas, and fastening and adjusting structures must be purchased separately.
  • If defects are found, you do not need to try to fix them yourself. Contact the manufacturer for replacement or repair.

The main thing in any work is accuracy and adherence to technology. If you do everything correctly, you can hang the blinds with your own hands, quickly and without much difficulty.

If you have bought or ordered vertical or horizontal blinds, we suggest that you install them yourself, because you can cope with this task even without experience, the main thing is to have the desire, 1 hour of free time and several tools.

Attention! Installing blinds does not require special skills, but keep in mind that any damage that occurs during the process independent work, will exclude the possibility of warranty repairs, exchange/return of curtains.

Depending on the type of curtains, your preferences and conditions, blinds are installed:

  • In the window opening;
  • On the wall;
  • To the ceiling;
  • On the window itself.

We made 3 step by step instructions and a selection useful videos, with which you can mount horizontal and vertical blinds any kind in any way.

To install horizontal blinds on a wall or to the ceiling, as well as to install vertical blinds above a window, you need to prepare:

  1. Electric drill with concrete drill 6-8 mm;
  2. Self-tapping screws and dowels 6-8 mm;
  3. Tape measure or ruler and level;
  4. Pencil;
  5. Phillips screwdriver or screwdriver;
  6. If necessary, shorten and cut curtains to width: hacksaw, scissors, thread, needles.

Instructions for installing horizontal blinds on the wall/ceiling

To correctly install blinds to a wall or ceiling, you need to perform the following steps.

Step 1. Check the complete set of curtains and lay out all the parts on the work surface.

Make sure that the curtain kit includes: universal fasteners for blinds 2 pcs. (or standard brackets), screws, the blinds themselves assembled form. If you are installing blinds more than 2 m wide, then the set of fasteners should also include an intermediate fastener, which will fix the curtain in the middle, preventing it from sagging.

Step 2. We attach the curtains to the wall/ceiling, determine the exact location of their installation and mark the left and right edges of the curtain rod using a tape measure and level. Next, from each mark (towards the sides from the center) we make an indent of 2-3 cm and also put marks - these are places for installing fasteners-brackets.

Step 3. Now we apply the right and left fasteners to these marks and mark the exact drilling locations directly along the screw holes. We drill these marks with a drill. The drilling depth should be 3-4 cm.

Step 5. If you are installing blinds more than 2 m wide, then at this stage you need to install intermediate fasteners. To do this, mark the middle between the already installed fasteners and repeat the steps from steps 3 and 4.

Tip: for reliable installation of heavy aluminum, bamboo and wooden curtains The intermediate fastener is also installed 10 cm from the control thread, since this place bears a large load.

Step 6. Insert and close the top cornice of the blinds in the bracket locks. If these are standard brackets, then the cornice is simply screwed to them with screws.

Instructions for installing horizontal blinds in a window opening

To install horizontal blinds in a window opening, you need to do the following work.

Make sure that the blinds are supplied with: fasteners for blinds (brackets) 2 pcs., screws, the blinds themselves in assembled form.

Step 2. We try on the curtains to the desired place in the window niche and check whether the blinds interfere with opening.

Step 3. Now we apply the right and left fasteners to the upper inner plane of the window niche, stepping back from its walls 2-3 cm towards the center, then make marks in the locations of the fastener holes. This way you will have 2 marks on the right and 2 marks on the left.

Step 4. Now we drill holes along these marks with a drill. The drilling depth should be 3-4 cm.

Step 5. We screw the right and left fasteners (in accordance with the sides and marks) to the upper plane of the window opening using self-tapping screws.

Step 6. Insert and close the top curtain rod into the bracket locks by simply turning and/or pressing the lever clockwise. If you use regular brackets for fastening, then the blind cornice is simply screwed on.

Instructions for installing vertical blinds to the ceiling/wall and in the window opening

Installing vertical blinds with your own hands involves the following steps:

Step 1. Check the package and lay out all the parts on the work surface.

The set of vertical blinds includes: fasteners for blinds (brackets) 2 pcs., screws, cornice, curtains themselves in disassembled form (slats with weights, lower connecting chain).

Step 2. Before installing the blinds, you need to make sure that their length suits you. To do this, attach one lamella to the desired location on the ceiling/wall/top plane of the window opening. If the distance from the bottom of the curtains to the window sill or floor is less than 1-2 cm, then it is better to shorten the slats. You can do this yourself: take out the weights, cut off the excess and hem the edges back.

Step 3. Now you need to attach the cornice to the ceiling/wall of the window opening, align and mark its right and left ends.

Then we do the following:

  • If you are installing vertical blinds to the ceiling, then from the previously placed marks we make an indent of 2-3 cm towards the center and put the marks again;
  • If you want to install blinds to the wall, then from the previously placed marks we make an indent of 5-6 cm towards the center and also place marks.

If you are installing curtains in a window opening, then you do not need to mark the ends of the cornice; you just need to make marks, stepping back from the walls of the opening 2-3 cm towards the center.

Next, we apply fasteners for the blinds to these marks and mark the drilling locations. This way you will have 2 marks on the right and 2 marks on the left. Be sure to apply fasteners to match the sides.

Note: to install curtains with a width of more than 1.6 m, you need to additionally install an intermediate fastener 10 cm from the adjusting cord.

Step 4. Now we drill holes along these marks with a drill. The drilling depth should be 4-5 cm.

Step 5. Screw the right and left fasteners (in accordance with the sides and marks) to the ceiling/wall with self-tapping screws.

Step 6. Insert and close the blind curtain rod into the fastener locks by turning and/or pressing the lever clockwise. If you use regular brackets for fastening, then the cornice is simply screwed to them.

Step 7. By adjusting the cord, we turn the runners so that they unfold across the cornice (as shown below in the left photo) and proceed to attach the slats, simply snapping them into the grooves of the runners.

Step 8. We attach the lower chain to the lamella weights, first from their outer side, then we cut off the excess and do the same on the back side of the lamellas, and then with the second part of the lamellas. Well, that’s all, the installation of vertical blinds is complete, all that remains is to check the operation of the mechanism and adjust the position of the slats.

Below is a video instruction on how to properly install vertical blinds to the wall with your own hands.

Hello, dear readers! Today we will talk about proper installation on plastic windows. roller blinds. Modern systems, protecting the room from sunlight, are functional, elegant looking, easy to use, and their installation is so simple that even a housewife can handle it.

To install roller blinds we will need:

  • roulette;
  • pencil;
  • building level and long wooden plank;
  • a hacksaw, scissors or a stationery knife (if you need to cut the curtains to width).

If you decide to install a structure with drilling, additionally stock up on:

  • electric drill with a 6 mm drill + dowels (for walls or ceilings) or 2.5 mm for wood (for a window system);
  • Phillips screwdriver or screwdriver.

To install roller blinds without drilling, you need to additionally prepare:

  • solvent for degreasing the surface;
  • double-sided tape (if it is not included);
  • construction adhesive (for more reliable fixation of elements).

Preparatory stage

Before purchasing curtains, choose the principle of their installation. The canvas can completely cover the window opening - in this case, the structure is attached to the wall above the window or the ceiling. If the upper part of the frame is wide enough, you can install a roller blind on it, but in this case, with the curtains closed, it will not be possible to open the window for ventilation. There are also roller blinds that are mounted directly on the sash and do not interfere with opening the windows.

If you have chosen curtains attached to the sash, use a level to check that the window is installed vertically. On strictly vertical window systems, installation of roller blinds with a free edge is allowed - there will be no gaps between the canvas and the frame that allow light to pass through. In other cases, it is recommended to use roller blinds with curtain guides.

According to your choice, take measurements using a tape measure. If there are no curtains of a suitable width on sale, buy wider ones - the excess can be easily cut off. Use a hacksaw to trim the pipe on which the fabric is wound and the wooden bottom strip.

To calculate the length of the shaft when cutting a curtain, measure the required width of the curtain and subtract 8 mm from the resulting value (2x4 mm is the width of the two brackets). Cut the strip to the required width of the curtain. Applying the cut strip to the edge of the fully unfolded canvas, mark and cut with scissors or sharp knife excess material along the entire length.

The width of the curtain fabric for a sash with guides should correspond to the width of the double-glazed window, plus 3 cm. A curtain with a free edge is slightly wider, since it should overlap part of the frame. At the same time, it should not cling to the handle on the fold.

If you plan to attach a roller blind to the ceiling or wall above a window, first make sure that the finish will not be damaged when drilling the holes.

Drilling installation

Choose which side is more convenient to position the control chain, since the bracket for installing the control mechanism has a special configuration.

Then mark on the frame, wall, window opening or ceiling where the bracket for the control mechanism will be installed. In accordance with the marks, drill holes for its fasteners. Install the bracket without fully screwing in the screws.

To determine where to install the brackets on the wall or ceiling, determine the central axis of the window opening, set equal pieces to the right and left of it.

Insert a mechanism with a chain on one side and a plastic tip on the other into the ends of the shaft. Install the mechanism into the bracket and use building level And wooden plank align it horizontally, accurately determining the installation location of the second bracket.

Drill holes for the second bracket, secure both load-bearing element designs. Insert the shaft with the pre-fixed curtain into the brackets - first the end with the mechanism, then with the plug.

To secure the curtain to the shaft, you need to bend its top edge by 5 cm, forming a fold. The roller with the self-adhesive strip, from which the protective film has been removed, is installed in the fold with the adhesive part facing up, and then rolled towards the top edge. It is important that the canvas adheres strictly horizontally to the shaft.

Then roll the fabric almost completely and insert the bar into the special slot on the bottom edge. Correctly install the mechanism into the shaft - the blade should be located close to the window.

Installation without drilling

The principle of assembling a roller blind and installing it remains the same. The difference concerns only the features of fastening the brackets - they can be glued to the sash or fixed on its upper edge using special hooks.

Fasteners with a hook are used if the sash with a seal has suitable thickness. In this case, the bracket is assembled from parts according to the manufacturer's instructions and installed on the upper edge of the open sash according to preliminary markings. Then the roller blind shaft is inserted into the brackets. Make sure that the door with hook brackets closes properly.

Brackets equipped with an adhesive layer are attached to the surface of the sash. To make the fixation as reliable as possible, be sure to degrease the installation site. Additionally, a suitable construction adhesive can be used.

The guides are also equipped with an adhesive layer - remove it protective film and attach the bar to the degreased surface, inserting the upper edge into the special groove in the bracket.

At the end of the installation of the roller blind, limiters are installed on the chain with which the curtain is raised and lowered - small plastic washers with a slot. The first limiter is installed on the chain when the lower edge is raised to the required height, the second - when the curtain is completely lowered.

But the price is not always affordable for the buyer. And sometimes you just want to see things around you that you created with your own hands. In both cases, the solution is this: make the blinds yourself. Moreover, it can turn out beautiful, unusual and inexpensive.

What materials and tools will be required?

Assembly diagram for vertical blinds.

To make blinds with your own hands, you will need a small set of tools and materials:

Where to start?

Scheme for attaching blinds to a window.

It will be easier to make vertical blinds, so we will focus on describing their technology.

We select the roll of paper so that it is 2 cm narrower than the width of the window opening. We measure 3 cm from the bottom cut and bend the sheet. You have to fold a length of paper equal to the height of the window with an accordion. Place the accordion under a press for 2-3 hours.

Now you need to find the middle of the folded paper. You need to make through punctures in both directions from the middle at a distance of 3 cm. An awl is quite suitable for this purpose. The paper is attached to this rail with tape or simply glued.

How to assemble the structure?

Scheme of vertical blinds with an inclined system.

Vertical blinds are already ready, all you need to do is assemble them and correct location on the window.

First, glue the bottom of the folded paper in the center with tape. The thread is threaded through the hole from bottom to top, then turned around and threaded in the opposite direction. One end of the thread is equipped with a bead.

A movable clamp must be placed at the second end. Usually a clothes clip is used, but it will not look very nice. It is better to have complete symmetry, so it is recommended to drape these parts equally.

Here you can use various schemes draperies of small details (bells will look very beautiful and will hide the clips).

To prevent the thread from quickly wearing out when rubbing against wooden slats, it is recommended to place a roller in the central part of the rack.

Now the vertical blinds should be placed on the window. Gravity will cause the paper to fall. This will be the extreme position for the stationary bead. The movable clamp is located at the same height.

We tie knots under the marked parts and cut off the ends of the thread.

How to test mobility

We fixed the clamp and obtained the required position.

The bottom edges of vertical blinds will sag. To eliminate this small flaw, you can equip the lower part of the blinds with a thin plate of any material, gluing it with double-sided tape.

For lovers of more sophisticated interior elements, it is recommended to use your imagination. It will look very attractive if you bring both lower edges together and fasten them with glue or the same tape. The result will resemble a heart. Why not an option for lovers?

Where can you use homemade blinds and how to repair them?

Installation of vertical blinds.

It is clear that DIY blinds are made for use for a short period of time.

This is usually done before repairs begin. This way you can regulate the amount of light entering the apartment and save finishing materials from burnout.

Homemade blinds are suitable not only during renovations. They can be considered as an excellent alternative to factory-made products in country houses, garages and utility rooms. Homemade vertical blinds are used seasonally: in the summer they prevent light from entering the apartment, which helps escape the heat.

Repairing home-made vertical blinds is also easy.

It consists of replacing the paper (you will have to make a new accordion). When assembling a new product, the same procedure is followed.

Movement diagram of vertical blinds.

Do-it-yourself blinds do not have to be made from paper.

Home craftsmen advise using regular starched fabric for this. This makes sense: the material is thinner, and an accordion can be easily made using an iron. The fabric can be easily removed and washed, which makes vertical blinds more durable.

You can experiment with the lower part, giving the product completeness at your discretion.

But when using fabric for vertical blinds, you need to make the lower part of the product a little heavier. Typically, for this purpose, the bottom edge of the fabric is folded in half and stitched at a distance of about 5 mm from the bend. Subsequently, a metal (aluminum) wire is inserted into this hole. It will weigh down the blinds and keep their bottom edge horizontal.

This can be avoided if the edges of the holes are sealed with tape or treated with metal rivets with holes.

You can sew the holes with regular thread. The edges of the holes will be more durable, which will make vertical blinds handmade even more durable.

Repair of factory-made vertical blinds can be done according to the same rules as described for homemade ones. But replacing a certain part of such blinds will be visible even to the naked eye. It will not be possible to hide a defect, since it is very difficult to select a specific material color range. But there is no need to do this: it is enough to replace several elements at once during the repair.

It will turn out very beautiful and elegant. It will look as if blinds and curtains were specially combined.

The control principle can be set manually using a chain or electric drive.

How to hang blinds on plastic and wooden windows by hand

There are such models, and for the material used there may be different types fabrics.

Characteristics of creating self-rolls

Let's look at an example of creating such a shape with your own hands, while the roll is at the bottom and the canvas is attached at the desired height using strips.

First measure the windows where this curtain is attached.

The width of the fabric should be 2-4 cm larger than the given size, and the length should be greater than 5-15 cm. Depending on which room you will install this design in, choose the fabric and pattern.

To work you will need:

  • two pieces of fabric of the required size;
  • tapes to be used as lids should be doubled longer curtains+ 30 cm;
  • a wooden bracket or hose for fastening, their width should be 1 cm less than the width of the curtain, you can buy a ready-made cassette system;
  • stick or weight rod;
  • screwdriver and screws;
  • stapler;
  • thread, needle.

Work order

Fold the two pieces of fabric on the wrong side and stitch on three sides, then wring out the bag.

Now you have to insert the weight, or you can make a special pocket for it.

The fabric is hungry and kept on a wooden stick, if a hose is used, the fabric hangs around it and the seams.

The posts fold in half and are also attached to the rod using clamps. After this, we fix the beam on the window frame.

Above we cannot do this work.

If you plan to remove the curtain, you can attach it to special hooks. To attach to a plastic window, you must use double-sided adhesive tape. Creating rolled structures is an exciting process, you don't need to have any specific knowledge or materials, so you'll end up with a beautiful window.

WINDOW MAINTENANCE

Place curtains on the window panes and it won't be as much. However, this requires specially designed curtains along with the appropriate accessories. Such curtains are attached directly to the sheet and rotate with it. They are equipped with a spring lifting mechanism and are secured in position by a locking hook.

Spring spring accessories are the flat part attached to the side of the frame.

In the curtain of the curved curtain slit, insert a wooden rod with a circular cross-section that snaps into place with locking hooks attached to the sides of the frame.

Shimmering curtains of different tones and patterns are made in a special capacity for sleeping windows.

ROLE OF PROTECTION

BY WIDTH

When installing curtains in niche windows, they may need to be fixed to the width.

To do this, unscrew the fabric and cut off the metal shaft with the correct nut. Then draw a line with a pencil on the fabric that limits the desired width and cut it with scissors along that line. Replace the fabric on the shaft and install a narrow curtain.

COMPONENTS AND SPECIAL SIZE TYPES

The darker the curtains, the less light they transmit.

They are completely opaque among them.

Blinds on plastic windows

The fabrics of such curtains can be different colors and with different patterns.

Curtains in a special design can reach a width of 300 cm and a height of 240 cm. Intermediate sizes are also possible.

Roller blinds can be equipped with lambrequins of various shapes, such as the last elements of the curtain. Lambrequins come in a variety of colors and can be mistaken for tons of curtains.

The set of blinds includes supports with which they are attached to the wall, ceiling or side windows of the window niche.

How to properly hang curtains on a plastic window

If you want to close the shutter window, you don't only need a curtain, but also go with guides. If you understand the installation nuances, install blinds on plastic windows without the help of experts.

Types of blinds

Drive systems are classified according to several parameters: design type, steering mechanism and production material.

On the first sign, all curtain models are divided into two groups:

Open - the box is not closed by the box, which makes the curtain less compressed against the glass, and the mechanism is not protected from external influences;
Closed - There is a safety cabinet which increases the cost of the system but provides better performance.

In addition, the system can have different geometric parameters: the shape of the guides, the diameter of the shaft, the width of the belt.

The choice of size depends on the surface of the hole, so you need to know how to measure a plastic window before ordering blinds.

To manage the system you can use the following mechanisms:

Plastic chain or chain, for example from blinds;
spring lock - automatically holds the blade when you unload it to the desired length;
electric drive - the shaft is equipped with a low-power electric motor that can be remotely controlled.

Each option has its own purpose.

Thus, a spring is better suited if the curtains do not need to be adjusted frequently, but electric drive- if the system is unavailable. In most cases, twine is sufficient.
The blinds fabric is made from durable materials that do not stick to glass - polyester, cotton, nylon, coated bamboo and metal inserts.

They can provide different air permeability of the curtain; The following blinds are allocated with this feature:

Transparent - diffuse sun rays, used for decorative purposes;
smoke - partially transmits visible light, but blocks heat;
Fatigue - completely blocks light;
Day-Night - Alternating transparent and opaque sashes that allow you to let in and block light without collapsing the canvas.

Regardless of whether the canvas is made, it should be cleaned regularly with soapy water, especially if there are curtains installed in the kitchen.

Curtain installation device

Before you decide how to hang your curtains, you must choose the type of balloon mounting.

The most popular method that is most suitable for large windows, is a wall or ceiling installation. The shaft must be screwed to the window opening, which creates many inconveniences - for example, a window with a curtain cannot open.

In addition, if this ends, it may get worse with such manipulations. In most cases, it is better to use a window aperture installation, since in this case the system can be mounted without drilling.

Next, you need to make sure that the window is completely vertical - you can use it flat or flat for this purpose. If there is deviation, the curtain will not fold properly and will not hold the glass well.

In this case, you must install it on a wall with a small recess from the frame or repair the window itself.

For a cylinder mounted on a wall or ceiling, add a hole 15 cm wide and 10 cm high;
When installing in a hole - remove N from the aperture width, measure the height as it is (N is equal to the size of the brackets depending on the system manufacturer).

The nominated manufacturer may have their own design and measurement functions - this should be checked on the company website or in store.

Do-it-yourself prefabricated shutters on a plastic window

Once you've taken your measurements and purchased your system, you can figure out how to hang your blinds.

The easiest way to install them is with self-tapping screws. To do this you need to do the following:

1. Place the rails on the frame and tighten with the included fastener.
2. Insert the covers and gears into the shaft box or secure them to the shaft if the system is open.
3. Attach the shaft to the bracket by pinning it at the top and pressing it until it clicks into place.
4. Cover the edges of the box with decorative trim.

If you don't have a tool for tightening screws, you need to learn how to repair curtains without drilling.

To do this, you can use the Velcro that comes with the kit. Installation is performed as follows:

1. Velcro attachments are attached to the guides.
2. The window frame is degreased.
3. Velcro heats the hair dryer, then removes the protective film from it.
fourth

The system is assembled as described above.

Keep in mind that a curtain installed with Velcro will not hold as securely as one mounted with screws - the fasteners may need to be replaced for a while.

But if you need to remove the roller blinds, they can be easily soldered in this case.

Installation of rolls on plastic windows from A to Z

In the case of self-tapping screws, the system must be unscrewed. After this, the shaft is separated from the guides and the network is removed.

It's therefore very easy to install the curtains - just follow the instructions carefully. If everything is done correctly, there will be no problems with system performance.

Instructions for use of horizontal blinds

Rules for using horizontal blinds.

1. The lamellas rotate around their axis by turning the control rod.

2. The lifting and lowering of the canvas is carried out by a control rope. To raise the blinds, pull the rope down. To fix the blinds on required height move the rope away from the center of the canvas and release.

To lower the blinds, pull the control cord toward the center, thereby releasing the cord lock, and release the cord while holding it lightly.

Raising and lowering must be done with the slats in a horizontal position. The lower cornice can be fixed at any level.

3. Horizontal blinds are installed only indoors with a relative air humidity of up to 70%.

4. Avoid mechanical impact on the blinds.

The slats can easily become deformed.

5. Horizontal aluminum blinds do not require special means care It will be enough to wash them regularly with a soft cloth or vacuum them with a brush with a soft attachment.

For washing it is recommended to use only cold or warm water(not boiling water or hot water!). At heavy pollution, the blinds can be removed and placed in a bath of warm, soapy water. Be careful to leave the top cornice and control mechanism above the water. Rinse and dry the blinds thoroughly and let them air dry.

6. ATTENTION! Not allowed do-it-yourself repair products by the client.
