Pentair Water control valves are available under a variety of brands. A control valve is a type of water treatment equipment used in column-type rapid filters. The main function of the control valve is to control water flows. It is a multi-way switch with a manual or electromechanical drive and all the necessary automation. Its purpose is to switch the flow of purified water filtered through the filter medium to ensure timely regeneration of the filter medium. There are valves that allow regeneration of the filter media depending on the volume of purified water or at a given time.

Depending on the type of media used in the filter, valves are used that allow regeneration of the filter media by washing with a reverse flow of water or a special reagent. Table salt or potassium permanganate can be used as a reagent. In case of using a load that requires regeneration with a reagent, five-cycle control valves are used with the following switchings:

The control units allow you to wash the fast filter loads with a reverse flow of water (from bottom to top), a direct flow of water (from top to bottom), wash the reagent by sucking it through the built-in ejector, and automatically fill the reagent tank with water. The blocks consist of valves that turn on, turn off and redirect the flow of water, and a controller that ensures the operation of the valves, that is, it sets the sequence for switching flows.

The design of valves in control units is as follows: the direction of water flow is changed by switching valves that open or close the channels. The valves, under the influence of cams located on the cam shaft in the upper part of the control unit (not in the water, but outside), rise or sit on the saddle, ensuring the opening or closing of the channels; All kinds of contaminants (including sand) passing with water through the channels of the block controls, with this design they cannot damage it. Valves can be divided into two groups according to their operating principle:

Pentair control valves use Various types controllers:

1. With regeneration based on the results of time control (time clock). The frequency of regeneration is determined by the user, based on the quality of the water and the nature of water consumption.

PURPOSE: Removing hardness salts from water.

The control units allow you to wash the fast filter loads with a reverse flow of water (from bottom to top), a direct flow of water (from top to bottom), wash the reagent by sucking it through the built-in ejector, and automatically fill the reagent tank with water. The blocks consist of valves that turn on, turn off and redirect the flow of water, and a controller that ensures the operation of the valves, that is, it sets the sequence for switching flows.

The design of valves in control units changes: the direction of water flow is changed by switching valves that open or close the channels. The valves, under the influence of cams located on the cam shaft at the top of the control unit (not in the water, but outside), rise or sit on the seat, ensuring the opening or closing of the channels. With this design, all kinds of contaminants (including sand) passing with water through the channels of the control unit cannot damage it. This is the fundamental difference between Pentair valves and similar products from other manufacturers - they have no rubbing parts.

Control units are made of Noryl (a thermoplastic patented by GE Plastics). Valves can be divided into two groups according to their operating principle:

  1. The filter valve is three-cycle (operating mode, backwash and quick wash). This group includes valves of the Performa 263, Magnum Cv F, Magnum IT F series.
  2. The softener valve is five-cycle (operating mode, backwashing, chemical regeneration, direct washing, filling the regenerant tank). This group includes valves series 255, Performa 268, Performa Cv 278, Magnum Cv SN, Magnum IT SN.

Pentair control valves use different types of controllers:

  1. With regeneration based on the results of time clock control. The frequency of regeneration is determined by the user, based on the quality of the water and the nature of water consumption. Regeneration cycles are fixed.
  2. With regeneration based on the results of monitoring the volume of water passed through the filter (demand). A microprocessor connected to a turbine and a sensor calculates a schedule of water consumption by day of the week and schedules washing on the day when the filter’s loading resource is exhausted. Customizable regeneration cycles.

All control units are tested for operating pressure from 1.4 to 8.3 atm.

Interface type - LCD.

Optionally they can be equipped with electrolytic chlorine generators (art. 35626) for resin disinfection.
