The work of a tool maker is quite serious and complex, and therefore for each category there is a separate job description. This article will examine in detail the 3rd, 4th and 5th levels of qualification of this profession.

What should a 3rd category toolmaker know?

A specialist with the third category will be able to carry out his labor activity only if he knows a certain number of disciplines well. What exactly are we talking about? This is what it prescribes standard instructions:

A third-class plumber must have an understanding of the basics of drawing, as well as geometric and trigonometric relationships. In addition, he must know:

  • Methods of using finishing material, as well as the design of finishing and sawing machines.
  • Installation of various control and measuring equipment, as well as its operation.
  • Property of steel.
  • Methods and options for steel processing.
  • All necessary information about the deformation of metals during their heat treatment, as well as allowances for finishing.
  • About the system of fits and tolerances, as well as roughness parameters.

Thus, a representative of even not the highest rank should still have a fairly decent amount of knowledge. What can you say about the duties of a 3rd category toolmaker?

About the functions of a 3rd category toolmaker

What functions does a toolmaker have? The responsibilities of category 3, oddly enough, are quite extensive. The standard instructions prescribe the following points:

  • Using a special technical equipment and various templates it is necessary to produce complex and precise tools.
  • Repair of tools and other equipment (of medium complexity, having a special outline).
  • Processing of various types of parts using special equipment(from 8-11 qualifications).
  • Working with shaped parts. Their drawing, repair, marking and preparation.
  • Equipment straightening.

It is worth noting that some duties of a 3rd category toolmaker can only be performed under the close supervision of specialists with higher qualifications.

On the responsibility and rights of a 3rd category toolmaker

Worth your time Special attention such important points as the responsibility and rights of the specialist in question.
The standard instruction states the following about the rights of a toolmaker:

  • the specialist has the right to give his subordinates certain instructions and tasks;
  • can monitor the completion of tasks;
  • can demand from his superiors everything necessary for work regulations and documents;
  • is able to submit to management for consideration various wishes and proposals related to professional activities in one way or another;
  • can report to management about all problems, violations and shortcomings of work;
  • can interact with various services of the organization in which the toolmaker works.

No less important is the point about the responsibility of the specialist:

The employee is responsible for failure to perform or incorrect performance of his functions. For causing material damage, for various types of offenses committed in the course of work, a specialist may be subject to disciplinary or criminal liability.

About the functions of a 4th category toolmaker

What should a toolmaker know? The responsibilities of this employee also include the presence of certain mental baggage, as well as the ability to competently apply it in practice.
So, the specialist in question should know:

  • about the construction of a sawing and finishing machine;
  • about the main types of dependencies: trigonometric and geometric;
  • All necessary information about finishing materials;
  • all necessary information about joining materials;
  • about working with complex figures (marking, drawing).

The standard instruction prescribes the following duties of a 4th category toolmaker:

  • Work with copiers, stamps, punches, jigs and other complex elements (meaning production, repair and operation).
  • Work consisting of finishing, wiping, manufacturing and operating elements of a figured outline (for a 4th category specialist - only 7-10 qualifications).

On the responsibility and rights of a 4th category tool maker

The job responsibilities of a toolmaker are very extensive. It is because of this that this specialist also bears a very great responsibility.
Although the standard instructions prescribe points similar to the types of responsibility for persons with lower qualifications, it is worth noting that the situation can be much more serious. This especially applies to relationships with subordinates.

The same applies to the rights of a toolmaker with a 4th category. The job description prescribes all the same points as for less qualified workers. However, the rights of a specialist with the fifth category are still slightly broader. It is worth taking into account at least the authority of the employee in question: a fairly high rank allows you to build clearer and more organized relationships with your superiors.

What should a 5th category toolmaker know?

It’s worth noting right away that a specialist who has the penultimate, and therefore quite important, category must have a very wide range of knowledge.
Thus, the job description states that a 5th category plumber must have the following knowledge:

  • about complex things professional instrument and its elements;
  • about geometric calculations and drawings necessary for the manufacture of complex tools;
  • about the relationship between temperature and instrument readings;

In addition, the specialist in question must have an understanding of safety precautions, his work schedule, as well as the rules for using personal protective equipment. What can you say about the duties of a 5th category toolmaker?

About the functions of a 5th category toolmaker

What are the responsibilities of a 5th category toolmaker?
A typical job description states the following:

  • production, repair and operation of complex professional instruments;
  • production and repair of various templates (here - 6-7 qualifications);
  • work on finishing, wiping, manufacturing parts with a figured outline according to the 5th quality.

The specialist in question also has another very important responsibility: to carry out a timely inspection various instruments and stamps. The check is carried out directly during operation. In fact, it is on the worker with the 5th category that the further optimal performance available equipment.

Thus, the duties of a toolmaker of the penultimate category are quite extensive and complex.

On the responsibility and rights of a 5th category toolmaker

The higher the rank, the more extensive the specialist’s responsibility. Every employee planning to improve their skills should take this into account. The same applies to a plumber. A specialist with the fifth category has enormous responsibility. This applies in particular to:

  • failure to do your job;
  • performing your work improperly;
  • material damage.

A 5th category plumber has all the same rights as workers with another category. However, their width will depend only on the place where the specialist works and on his superiors, who may grant additional rights.
