Pump control module MCX CP(new designation PCM CP) is a microprocessor controller with preinstalled software, designed to control up to three circulation pumps in a group, provides circulation support in hot water supply, heating, and cooling systems.

Module MCX CP developed on the basis of Danfoss MCX series controllers. The basic ones are the controller MCX06D and expansion module EXC06D.

Equipment composition:

The MCX CP pump module provides system control in the following configuration (for three pumps):

  • Three pumps (P1,P2,P3);
  • Two analog pressure sensors (4-20 mA) for differential control (S2, S3);
  • Two discrete sensors from dry start-up, to control the pressure drop (S1, S4);
  • One discrete differential pressure sensor for each pump (S5, S6, S7);

Circulation pump control circuits

Control of a group of two pumps, when only one of the pumps is running at the same time, the other is a backup. Pump rotation is provided. Switching between pumps is carried out:

  • by accident;
  • by hours of operation.

The central heating module begins its operation by starting the pump with the fewest operating hours. After working for a specified period of time (operation period), the pump stops. Now he is a reserve. After a specified time interval, another pump starts.

Algorithm for controlling a group of two circulation pumps.

Control of a group of three pumps, when two pumps are running simultaneously (50% and 50%), the remaining of the three is a backup. Pump rotation is provided. Switching between pumps is carried out:

  • after a specified period of pump operation;
  • by accident;
  • by hours of operation.

The operation of the central heating module begins with the start of the pump with the fewest operating hours. After a specified time interval, the next pump starts. Each of the operating pumps, having worked for a given period of time (operation period), stops. The standby (currently idle) pump starts.

Thus, pump 1, which started first and worked for a given period of time (operation period), stops. Now he is a reserve. After a given time pause, pump 3 starts. Pump 2 was started a pause after pump 1 started, so it will stop later than pump 1. After a given time pause after stopping pump 2, the current backup pump 1 starts. Now pump 2 is a backup. When the third pump has worked for a specified period of time (operation period) and stops, after a specified time pause, pump 2 will start, and pump 3 will become a backup.
