1.4 Description of the machine LS 80-6S

The joinery band saw machine LS80-6S includes a C-shaped bed, an upper non-drive pulley, a band saw, a saw guard with a guide device, a tilting table, a lower pulley, which is driven through a belt drive from an electric motor. Work surface The pulley is cleaned with a brush. To obtain parts of the required width, use a guide ruler.

The pulleys have a flat rim with a soft rubber or leather bandage. It serves to increase adhesion between the saw and the pulley when moving. Near the upper pulley there is a device for catching the saw blade in case of an emergency rupture. The design of the upper pulley of the band saw machine is shown in Fig. 4.

The pulley is mounted on the axle console, fixed in the slider. The slider is mounted on a bracket so that it can be adjusted in height using a screw from the handwheel. Rotation of the handwheel carries out the initial tension of the saw. Constant tension on the saw during thermal or mechanical elongation during operation is maintained by a spring installed between the slide and the bracket on the cylindrical part of the screw. To prevent the saw from running off the pulleys, the bracket can be rotated around its axis using an adjusting screw and thus, if necessary, tilt the upper pulley in both directions from the vertical.

The guide device serves to prevent the saw from deflecting to the side and sliding off the pulleys, as well as dampening the vibrations of the saw. The device consists of two identical blocks installed above the work table and below it in the area of ​​the working branch of the saw.

Rollers or bosses made of antifriction material are used as guide elements. The roller guide device includes two side and one thrust rollers. They are mounted on axles and rotate freely from contact with the saw, providing little resistance to its movement.

The guide device is mounted on a rod with a toothed rack, through which it can be adjusted in height depending on the thickness of the wood being cut. The sawn material on carpentry machines is fed manually.

When mass sawing straight parts, the feed should be mechanized using a removable feed mechanism. The feed mechanism consists of a rotating bracket, at the end of which a drive grooved roller is mounted. The handwheel is used to rotate the bracket relative to an axis mounted on the table. When turning, the roller is pressed against the material being processed and the box-shaped base ruler, inside which the axes of the freely rotating rollers are attached. The machine is also equipped with a side suction in the area of ​​the working saw blade and a saw band guard.

The machine bed in the upper part has an L-shaped “trunk” where the upper pulley is located. The machine table can be in a horizontal or inclined position. Between the upper and lower pulleys there is a band saw in the form of a continuous strip. The lower pulley is driven by an electric motor; The upper pulley is located on a support, which, depending on the length of the saw, changes its position in height. The constant tension of the saw is adjusted by lifting the bearing housing with a lever with a weight. To guide the saw from the back side (edge), there is a roller that prevents it from moving from the pulley. Guide devices are placed below and above the table (10-15 mm above the thickness of the material being cut). The drive is carried out from an electric motor through a V-belt transmission.

When working on band saws Occupational injuries often occur due to saw blade breakage when the worker’s hands are close to the saw. Therefore, the pulleys and the idle part of the saw must have guards, and braking device pulleys must be interlocked with the starting one.

To guide the saw correctly, protect it from bending and eliminate vibration, guide rollers are used.

To process parts with a curved profile, use special devices installed on the machine table; When cutting parts straight, use a guide ruler. The band saw joint (soldered seam) must have a thickness equal to the thickness of the saw, and in the soldering areas, the pitch of the saw teeth must correspond to the pitch of the teeth of the entire blade.

Work on the machine is carried out either according to markings or according to a template. When working on marking, the template is placed on top of the workpiece, outlined with a pencil, after which, after removing the template, the workpieces are sawed along the drawn contour. Purpose of the machine

The band saw machine model LS 80-6 is designed for straight and curved cutting along a ruler, marking, template wooden planks, panels, plywood, etc.

Wood is fed manually or using a hydraulically driven automatic feeder. To cut material at an angle, the table can be tilted up to 45º.

Scope of application: sawmills, woodworking and plywood enterprises.

Band saws are high-performance equipment that is used when it is necessary to perform straight and figured sawing of wood. The rational use of this type of machine can rightfully be called sawing wood for furniture production and construction. In the latter case, such a machine is used for sawing bars, boards, as well as sheets made of chipboard/fibreboard. The cutting element of a bandsaw machine is a closed-type steel belt, characterized by its thinness. Its thickness ranges from 0.9 to 5 mm. Thanks to this tape, as a result of working on the machine, cuts of straight and curved types are obtained, while workpieces can be more than 200 mm thick.

The principle of operation of a saw belt machine is similar to a jigsaw, but there is a difference: the annular closed blade does not move in a reciprocating manner, but in one direction in accordance with an endless closed loop on two pulleys, reminiscent of a conveyor. Thanks to this method, a large resource of the long plane of the cutting belt of the machine is ensured. Due to the fact that the tape blade is longer, it dulls more slowly and does not require frequent replacement. At the same time, the cutting plane has a low roughness, which in many cases makes it possible to do without finishing. To others advantages of a band saw is the absence of chips, and there is little other waste in the form of dust, like that of a grinding machine. All this makes the operation of a band saw much more profitable than its circular counterpart, which has discs thicker than those of the saw blade.

The machine bed in the upper part is equipped with a “trunk”, which has an L-shape in the location of the upper pulley. The surface of the machine table can be located both in a horizontal position and in an inclined position. Between the two pulleys (upper and lower), a band saw runs as a continuous belt. The upper pulley begins its work under the influence of an electric motor. The upper pulley is located on the support; it can change its position according to the height dictated by the length of the saw. The constant tension of the saw mechanism is regulated by lifting the bearing housing of the lever with a load. To guide the saw from the back (edge), use a roller to prevent it from moving off the pulley. The guide-type machine is placed at the bottom and top of the table, while they are located at a distance of 10-15 mm above the material being cut. The drive operates through a V-belt type electric motor transmission.

Working on a band saw, it is important to know that work-related injuries can occur. They happen because if the saw blade breaks, your hands may be near the saw, which is certainly dangerous. To prevent such a situation, it is important to protect the pulleys and the non-working part of the mechanism. In this case, the pulley brake mechanism must be connected to the starting mechanism.

To prevent injury that occurs when the saw breaks, a special device is installed under the table - a tape catcher; it is locked with a brake mechanism.

To ensure that the direction of the saw is correct, it is protected from bending, and also to eliminate vibrating moments, guide rollers are used.

The processing of parts with a curved profile is carried out using special devices that are installed on the machine table. To carry out straight cutting of workpieces, use a guide ruler. When joining, the saw blade at the welded seam should be as thick as the thickness of the saw itself. And the pitch of the teeth at the soldering site should not differ from what the teeth have on the entire blade.

All work on the machine is performed either in accordance with the markings or according to a template. In the latter case, the template is applied to the workpiece, outlined with a pencil, then the workpiece is sawed along certain lines.
