The date of creation of MGIMO is considered to be October 14, 1944, when, on the initiative of the USSR People's Commissar for Foreign Affairs V. M. The first page in the history of the university

MGIMO has existed for more than 70 years. Its history began in 1943 with the formation of the international faculty within the structure of Moscow State University.
