Vladimir State University consists of several buildings (buildings). All buildings, with the exception of the fifth academic building of the Institute (Faculty) of Small and Medium Business (IMiSB), are located in the microdistrict bounded by Belokonskaya, Gorky, Mira streets, as well as Stroiteley Avenue. The buildings in which classes are held are located near the intersection of Stroiteley Avenue, Belokonskaya and Gorky streets.

In the 1970s, it was planned to build 5 more educational buildings, a 16-story administrative building, an athletics arena, however, only one new educational building was built - the second. Despite the significant increase in the number of students since that time, no new educational premises have appeared, so at the moment up to 6 are housed in buildings originally intended for 1-2 faculties, and classes are held even in basements(for example, in the first academic building and sports complex).

  • On August 1, 1958, by resolution of the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR, the Vladimir branch of the Moscow Evening Mechanical Engineering Institute was opened with two faculties: mechanical-technological and instrument-making. The first intake of students was carried out - 200 people.
  • In 1962, the Vladimir branch, in connection with the liquidation of the Moscow Evening Engineering Institute, was transferred to the jurisdiction of the Moscow Institute of Electronic Engineering
  • In February 1964, the branch was transformed into the Vladimir Evening Polytechnic Institute (VVPI). In the same year, the Radio Instrument Engineering Faculty was created, the first dean of which was B. F. Gradusov
  • 1969 - VVPI was transformed into (VPI).
  • In 1977, VPI took first place in the socialist competition of universities in the USSR.
  • 1978 - training of foreign students began.
  • In 1993, VPI was transformed into Vladimir State Technical University (VSTU).

  • Sports building No. 2. Greco-Roman Wrestling Corps. One-story building. It hosted classes for the Greco-Roman wrestling section, as well as general sports groups. Next to this building there was an asphalt football ground. It was demolished in 2007.
